Chapter 5 Chinese Pinyin
Cao Cao marched south to Yuan Shu and Liu Bei, with Xiahou Yuan as the vanguard, pointing directly at Shouchun. Yuan Shu thought that the confrontation between Guandu and half a year would be difficult to decide, so he listened to Liu Bei's instigation, raised troops from Hefei, went down to Chengde, and surrounded Shouchun, who would have thought that Liu Fu had garrisoned Shouchun for less than a month, and Cao Cao's reinforcements arrived. So Yuan Shu was frightened, and left the battle, fleeing back to fatten, Liu Bei knew that his people could not be relied on, so he led his troops south to Lujiang, wanting to echo Sun Ce.
If Yuan Shu and Sun Ce had done it at the same time, maybe Cao Cao would have been blinded, but with the level of communication in these years, it is unlikely that there would be such a tacit understanding of military cooperation. Sun Ce originally planned to divide his troops into three routes, his younger brother Sun Quan crossed the river from Dantu to attack Guangling, and the general Zhou Yu led the sailors from Chaisang to the river and invaded Anhui County - both roads were false - he personally led the main force to cross from Zhonglu and answer Yuan Shu. However, the left and right roads were only launched, and before the Chinese army moved, the news of Yuan Shu's defeat came, and he simply led the army eastward and went directly to reinforce Sun Quan.
Tai Shici blocked Zhou Yu in Anhui County, so that Sun Jun could not land on the shore, but because of the lack of boats, Zhou Yu drove the boat back and forth on the river, and Ziyi was immediately blinded. In the end, he had to respond to all changes with the same, divide the troops into Anhui County, live in the nest, and guard it tightly. Wei Yan suggested sending a surprise army to cross the river by looking for Yang and sneak attack on Chaisang, but was vetoed by Tai Shici - the idea is very good, but the problem is that we don't have enough sailors, where is it so easy to cross the river?
Sun Ce's main force gave up the original plan and turned eastward, and Liu Bei, who came to the south, was blinded on the spot, and ran into Tai Shici head-on. Guan and Zhang wanted to fight Taishi Ziyi for a long time, and Liu Bei handed over the war book, and fought alone in the coming day. Tai Shi Ci couldn't help but look up to the sky and laugh - the letter said that the names of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei were written, and he wanted me to fight one by one. Even if you separate them one by one, you can't do it. You think I'm stupid? Immediately approved and agreed. At night, he parted ways with Wei Yan and attacked the enemy camp. Liu Bei was defeated and scattered without a trace.
On the other hand, Cao Cao relieved the siege of Shouchun and recovered Chengde, and the whole army surrounded Hefei City, and Zhang Xun, the general of Yuan Shu's garrison of Junyu County, also surrendered the city. However, the city defense of Hefei is strong, and Yuan Shu is still fighting and cannot attack. Guo Jia advised Cao Cao: "Yuan Shu is incompetent. If you are pressed, you will fight to the death, and if you are pressed, you will go, and then you will die. Hearing that Sun Ce has gone to Guangling, if Guangling is lost and Xuzhou is in danger, it is better to save Guangling. ”
So Cao Cao temporarily released the siege of Hefei and rescued Guangling in the east, but before he arrived, he heard that Sun Ce had retreated. It turned out that Sun Quan was young. Eager to make meritorious contributions, he crossed the river in advance without waiting for his brother to arrive. As a result, Chen Deng personally guarded the Jiangdu City, first died down, showed weakness, and waited for Sun Jun to suddenly kill when he crossed halfway, Sun Quan was defeated, and he was only spared. Sun Ce got the report, that is, the garrison Qu'a, suspended the north.
Cao Cao came to Guangling, summoned Chen Deng, held his hand and said: "Is it Hongfu who recommended Qing as a peerless national soldier, Qing is in Xu Fang, and Jiangdong Xiaoer is safe?" It's true. That is, he was dressed in a silk robe and said: "The river bank is windy, Guanqing's face is white, you can't overwork, you must know how to maintain health." ”
The battle on the southern front came to an end, and Cao Cao added 2,000 soldiers and horses to Chen Deng, and then immediately led his troops back to Xudu. At this time, the battle in the north of Xuzhou was also completely over, because of the defeat of Guandu, Yuan Tan was forced to withdraw the siege of Kaiyang and retreat to Qingzhou, and Zang Ba led the army to recover the entire Langxi County - even if Liu Bei returned, he would have no place to stay.
Therefore, after Cao Cao returned to Xudu, he pondered that when the autumn harvest was over, he should send Zang Ba to attack Qingzhou, send Cao Ren to attack and annex Zhou, attack Yuan from both wings, and at the same time go to recover Henan counties such as sour dates. In this case, he unified the military orders of the Western Front and asked Shixun to hand over the military power to Cao Ren.
It has been a whole year since he arrived in Hedong, and before that, everything was redundant, and he was busy training troops and fighting wars, and his empty mind could be filled with all kinds of bad things, but now he only focuses on "education", and time has become regular, so the long night is long, and it is inevitable that he will not want to sleep. After carefully weighing it, he simply wrote a letter to Cao Miao, pouring out his loneliness in a rather literary tone.
In his mind, with Cao Miao's temperament, if he was alone, he would definitely jump on horseback immediately and gallop to Hedong to meet him, but unfortunately Xue'er was young and couldn't get out - how big is it if this is two thousand years later, holding the child thousands of miles to visit relatives? It's not a good year, the child is only three years old (imaginary age), who can rest assured that she will travel a long distance. It's four years old, and he may be able to travel far, but Cao Miao may not be willing to run to accompany him.
Therefore, Cao Miao either asked the Gan family to come over, or chose another concubine for himself, which was enough to relieve loneliness. Anyway, it was the eldest woman's order, and Guan Si didn't say much.
The letter was handed out, and then it was forgotten. As the eldest wife of a scholar, Cao Miao naturally would not directly refuse her husband's request, but she can delay it, and if she waits stupidly, it will be a shame.
He now deals with official business and prepares for classes one day, and goes to the school palace to lecture on the scriptures one day, and has a lot of free time. Shixun is neither a practical bureaucrat nor a technical bureaucrat, whether it is rockets, papermaking or printing, he can only give a research direction, once something is invented, how to innovate, how to progress, then it is completely unenergetic, and it is impossible to run all day to supervise, so I have to pin my hope on craftsmen like Li Caige.
Why don't you try to study movable type printing?
The earliest movable type printing in the world was produced in the Song Dynasty, and it was recorded in Shen Kuo's "Mengxi Pen Talk" that there was a person named Bi Sheng who invented clay movable type. That passage is something Xun can roughly memorize: "There is a cloth cloth Bi Sheng in the celebration calendar, and it is a trapboard." Its method is engraved with cement, as thin as the lips of money, each word is a seal, and the fire is strong. First set up an iron plate, on which it is made of pine resin, wax and paper ash, etc., and the like......"
There is an idiom related to printing called "disaster pear disaster jujube", that sensei asked, bluntly told the big guy, the printing plate can be carved from pear wood or jujube wood. But what is the composition of the "cement" used by Bi Sheng? How to prepare? How delicate is the handiwork of the "thin as money lips"? How to mix the fillers of pine resin, wax and paper ash? These are the questions that make Xun think about it.
Or with movable wooden type? Shen Kuo also wrote at the end of that paragraph: "Those who don't take wood as it are dense in literature and science, and uneven when they are wet." It is also sticky with medicine. Not advisable. If you don't ...... burnt earth", it can be seen that Bi Sheng tried wooden movable type, but finally gave up. It is Xun Zhilu Dao, the Yuan Dynasty or the Ming Dynasty did appear more practical wooden type, but the relevant records are not as famous as "Mengxi Pen Talk", he has not read it, and he knows it but does not know why. Bi Sheng encountered "the literature and science are sparse, and the water is uneven, and it is sticky with medicine." How to solve the problem of "undesirable"? If he can't give a basic experimental direction, the knowledge and mind of Li Caige's craftsmen will definitely be like a blind man!
Alas, why can others make guns and cannons after crossing over, unify China in ten years, and conquer the world in thirty years, but they are ...... Why did you go to science and engineering without knowing the difficulties in your previous life? Liberal arts students do have some natural advantages in this life, but they are just copying some poems and songs. It is really difficult to change the trend of historical development. Never mind. Let's do something that we liberal arts students can do.
Shixun once wanted to "invent" punctuation marks - this is common in the passage of texts - but the spoken language in this world is not far enough away from the written language, and the pronunciation is much more complex than Mandarin two thousand years later. At most, commas and periods are useful, but a little tease...... The ancients would have been there a long time ago.
Besides, if Shixun wants to distort the meaning of the scriptures now, in some cases, he must overturn the old sentences so that it can be easily misinterpreted, so he ...... Punctuation is something that can never be invented!
By the way, since you think about phonetics, I still learned some of phonology in my previous life. Thinking of this, Shi Xun hurriedly went to search for the pavilion, and soon pulled out a set of "Han Shu" annotated by the pious service, flipped through it for a long time, and sure enough, he found it-
Before the Wei and Jin dynasties, the way of marking phonetics was very simple, basically using a word with a close sound to refer to it, so it is easy to have a problem that there may be something similar to "Cai, read if you cut; cut, read like wealth". After the Wei and Jin dynasties, the rise of anti-cutting, it is said that the source is to serve piety, and then from Sun Yan's "Erya Transliteration", it gradually became popular. In short, the so-called reverse cut is to use two words, take the initials of the upper word, and then take the finals and tones of the lower word, which is used to mark the pronunciation of a new word.
Compared with the pinyin of later generations, the disadvantages of reverse cut are obvious. First of all, the upper and lower characters contain certain redundant components, which are easy to produce obstacles when combined; Secondly, there is no standard, which also means the initial F, which can be used by wind, can be used with abundance, can be used with volt, and can be used with hair...... Third, some narrow rhymes can't find words that can be marked.
The ancients have done unremitting research for this from generation to generation and have come up with various solutions, but in Shi Xun's view, they don't need any phonology knowledge, as long as they know Chinese pinyin, it's not a problem. First of all, in some texts, the finals are naturally close to the pronunciation channel of the initials, from which it is easy to separate the pure initials, such as "husband" for F, "silk" for S, "special" for T, and so on. There are also some words with zero initials, which are most suitable for marking reverse cut words, such as micro, ang, ang, and so on.
As long as you pick out these words, look for the fewest or most common strokes from them, and fix them as the marks of sounds and finals, and you can solve many problems. Shixun did not intend to invent any phonetic alphabet (whether in the Latin alphabet, phonetic characters, or Japanese kana), because the rice had to be eaten one bite at a time, new concepts could be thrown, and new symbols were not easily accepted by scholars. However, Shi Xun believes that as long as this scheme can be popularized in the world, cursive will become popular in a few years, and some people will naturally make thrift a simple symbol.
Under this premise, Shixun must also write a special article to point out the problem of zero initials and consonant endings that few people have realized in these years. In addition, it is not the standard tone of the next word, and the single column is flattened to enter, and the new reverse cut of a word needs to be marked with four words or symbols at most: sound, rhyme, tail and tone, although it is a little longer, but the accuracy is greatly improved.
In this way, both spelling disorder and uniform standard problems are solved. The rest of the narrow rhyme and rare words...... Let's find a way to fix it when we find it first. After all, even the Chinese pinyin of later generations is not perfect, for example, the words "er" and "er" are both pronounced ER, but in fact, the pronunciation is not exactly the same.
Aha, this is a big project - it is impossible to copy Hanyu Pinyin, after all, the phonetics of these years are 108,000 miles different from later generations - enough for me to kill time, and enough to live for a hundred generations. Of course, it is impossible for Shixun to do it alone, anyway, he has a large number of subordinates under him, as a commander, the old rules, as long as he grasps the general direction, all the meticulous work can be thrown to the subordinates to complete...... After compiling it into a book, the title of the book is simply called - "Hanyu Pinyin"! (To be continued......)
PS: Phonology has been thrown away for a long time, and it is really complicated to write, and I guess few people can understand it...... So I only give a brief explanation of the reform of Shixun, if you really want the Fang family to read it, don't take it too seriously, Xie Lu Xie.
