It didn't take much effort for us to bypass the enemy's encirclement and successfully reach the main peak to join Scar's forces.

This process should be said to be a relatively dangerous time for our army, because, as I said before, our army is not familiar with the terrain, and it cannot find a suitable position to build a defense on the anticline, that is, there is no foothold. Once we are entangled by the Vietnamese army on the way, we are very likely to face the danger of being attacked by the Vietnamese army from both the upper and lower sides.

What's even stricter is that if we build a defense on the anti-slope of Kuolin Mountain, that is, the positive slope of the Vietnamese army, the Vietnamese army only needs to let their artillery do it...... Then there was enough time to direct long-range artillery fire into our positions.

Therefore, whether or not you can reach the main peak position and join Scar and others can also be said to be a key to the success of this plan.

Of course, the Vietnamese army also knew this, so when they learned that there were enemy airborne troops behind them, they immediately turned their guns around and turned against us.

They do this for two reasons:

One is that it can avoid being attacked by our army from both sides.

You must know that at this time, they are attacking the main peak position where Scar and the others are stationed with all their might, and at this time, if we let us kill them from behind...... Even if they have two companies of troops, they will be wiped out in an instant.

The other, of course, is to prevent our two armies from meeting.

The Vietnamese army knew very well that our ultimate goal was the main peak of Kulin Mountain...... Our army's defensive strength on the main peak is insufficient, there is only one platoon in total, and even with the cover of helicopters, it is difficult for such troops to withstand the siege of the Vietnamese army's sea tactics. This is one of the reasons why Battalion Commander Nguyen dared to conceal the military situation or deliberately delayed the report of the military situation.

But it would be different if we succeeded in reaching the main peak. The strength of the defense on the main peak will change from a platoon to a company. This strength is enough to give them a headache.

In addition, the Vietnamese army also knew very well that the troops on the main peak of our army did not dare to act rashly, and at this time the Chinese soldiers on the main peak were only 30 people, and if they were divided into a part to receive the parachute troops, they were afraid that the two halves of the main peak would be taken by the Vietnamese army.

In fact, the Vietnamese army still wants us to do this...... One of the two Vietnamese company commanders who fought against us was a company commander surnamed Wu, who was a tricky character, and he made a decision at this time: pretending to be caught off guard by our army, the whole army retreated, that is, he turned his gun in a panic to deal with the parachute troops behind, but in fact, he left two platoons to ambush near the main peak, just waiting for the Chinese soldiers on the main peak to kill out of the position.

In the end, this plan did not succeed, because the position of the main peak can be said to be the foundation of our army and the top priority of the entire plan, and we will not joke about the safety of the main peak at any time. What's more, the fighters on the main peak position don't need to "fight out of the position" if they want to support us.

This was something we had planned early on, that is, when this battle had not yet begun, Scar and I were thinking about how the main peak would support the parachute troops in this situation.

It should be said that this is not easy, on the one hand, Scar's troops are too small to provide direct support to us, and on the other hand, they are not familiar with the terrain and it is difficult to determine our position.

But there is an advantage to grasp...... It's condescending and easy to take control.

That's why we chose to parachute in the middle of the day.

It was not yet dark when our troops parachuted, which meant that the enemy could not detect our parachute operations in time and carry out the necessary anti-airborne landings. When our troops parachuted down, they were basically not counterattacked by the Vietnamese army, and the cost was that five soldiers did not arrive at the assembly point on time to rendezvous...... This part of the fighters is supposed to have some problems during the landing due to the weather and terrain conditions. As the saying goes, there are pros and cons. In order to reduce the risk of being detected by the enemy and counterattacking, it is necessary to appropriately increase the risk of parachuting.

Then, when we gathered in the deep forest and headed towards the main peak, the sky was getting brighter.

Of course, dawn was not of great help to our parachute troops, and at this time we did not even know where the Vietnamese army was, and we did not know how to avoid the Vietnamese army to reach the main peak.

But the dawn was of great help to the warriors on the main peak, and their eyes followed the retreating Vietnamese army all the way...... You must know that all the soldiers of the agent company have learned to track with the Chen sisters, and the most important thing in tracking is to observe, observe a little bit of different wind and grass, or hear a little strange sound, etc.

This skill came into play at this time, although the fog had not yet dissipated, and although the thick clouds also blocked the sun from the wind, Scar and the others could still judge the location of the Vietnamese army in this slightly white light.

The next thing is easy to do, just fire a few mortar shells according to the position of the Vietnamese army, which can not only cause some damage to the Vietnamese army...... This is in the forest, and if the mortar does not use the shells with a delay lead, it will explode above the heads of the Vietnamese army, which directly makes the Yue devils scream.

More importantly, the sound of the explosion is also a warning to the position of our Vietnamese army.

Let's just listen to the sound, and we even made an agreement with Scar that the explosion of two shells is the enemy's position, and one shell is a safe direction.

So things are simple for us, when we hear two "booms", we know that the enemy is coming from this direction, and when we hear "booms", we know that we should go in this direction...... At the same time, the Vietnamese army also underestimated the combat effectiveness of our army, just as the commander of the regiment Hu judged, thinking that we were the 15th Airborne Army with insufficient firepower, so the search team was spread out.

So in the final stage, we simply didn't need the guidance of the main peak, pulled the rack open, and the AK74 in our hands rushed all the way to the main peak!

As for the Yue devils who were following us closely, a few machine guns and mortars on the main peak were fired back into the forest in a flurry of indiscriminate bombardment.

"Battalion commander!" When the warriors on the main peak saw us, they couldn't help but rush up and hug us tightly.

Although the soldiers of the secret service company have known each other for a long time, it is a different feeling to successfully meet on such occasions. However, we knew that there was not much time for us to celebrate on this battlefield, so we hugged and shook hands and quickly dispersed into our places.

"How's it going?" I asked Scar.

"The Vietnamese army's attack is fierce!" The most important of these is the replenishment of ammunition...... The lack of ammunition is always a flaw for the Airborne Forces, even when we use new types of parachutes.

All the new parachutes can give us is safer, faster, and of course more ammunition, but it's not enough to make us fight a big fight.

As for how to supplement this batch of ammunition, don't think about it, of course, it will be a helicopter.

After receiving the order, the soldiers did not say a word, and without saying a word, they drew their sapper shovels in groups and dug in various hidden places on the high ground.

The so-called secret places refer to some places where shells are not easy to hit. Of course, our main defense is mortars...... The position of the hilltop position is special, because it is like the blade of a knife for a high ground, and it is generally difficult for long-range artillery to hit this position, a little higher will cross the air, and a lower one will hit an inclined plane, that is to say, unless it is a very coincidental or a large area of artillery, a few long-range artillery shells will fall on our heads.

But the mortar is different, because of the large curved arc of this thing, as long as it is aimed accurately, it still has a great chance of hitting our army's position.

I think this is also the reason why the Vietnamese army has not bombarded our positions with artillery fire until this time, and the bombardment of long-range artillery fire will not have much effect on the main peak, and the mortars will not be large-scale for the time being......

As I said before, the Vietnamese army's deployment is an "egg-style" defense, and it is very difficult to transport this Koulin Mountain on a high ground of more than 1,700 meters, so the mortars and artillery shells on a large scale are used in the forward positions that are in direct contact with our army.

Of course, the mortars under the mountain can also hit the main peak, but the problem is that the main peak is more than 1,700 meters high, and it is difficult for light mortars such as 60 guns to reach this height, let alone hit, so they can only mobilize mortars of 82MM and larger calibers, and at the same time, because of the height of the main peak, their range will be shortened on a large range, which makes these mobilized mortars have to approach Koulin Mountain.
