527 Ukraine has finally stopped
Makhno was determined not to hide with Mironov anymore, and although he was best at guerrilla warfare and sports warfare, that didn't mean he couldn't fight a proper battle. It's just that he has always wanted to exchange the smallest price for the biggest victory.
However, even if Makhno made up his mind to wrestle with Mironov head-on, he was still quite unhappy in his heart. The main reason for the upset was Petliura, who, as a hardcore anarchist, Makhno did not have the slightest affection for Petliura. It wasn't that he hadn't fought with Petliura before, and if it weren't for the presence of the Red Army, a foreign enemy, he would have gone to clean up Petliura himself.
And now, in order to survive, he had to help that stupid Petliula, and it was strange that Makhno was comfortable.
So with a very twisted mood, Makhno walked towards the final decisive battle, as he said before, he would no longer entangle with Mironov, and he would try to meet the dagger as soon as he came up. Makhno suddenly went north with his army and shot at Kyiv like an arrow from Xuan!
The move was quite decisive, catching both Frunze and Mironov a little off guard. Previously, they thought that there was a strict disagreement between Makhno and Petriura, and Makhno should not come to the rescue when he beat Peliura. Who would have thought that Makhno would not only come, but also come quite decisively.
Even Frunze had to sigh: "This guy is really a natural military strategist!" ”
Indeed, a guy like Makhno, who was born with mud legs, whose ancestors have not read and write for eight generations, and who has not received any orthodox military education at all, should not be able to fight no matter how you look at it. But there is a real class of weirdos in the world, be careful. I'm talking about geeks, not geniuses.
One point must be emphasized. Makhno was by no means a genius born with knowledge. In fact, this kind of so-called genius does not exist at all. The reason why Makhno is able to fight and is good at fighting is very important because of his early career as a "grand thief".
During the days of raiding homes and houses, he constantly struggled with the police and the government, and summed up a set of military theories in a practical way. From this point of view, Makhno is not the kind of person who applies what he has learned, but constantly sums up lessons and lessons from practice, and constantly improves himself through practice.
This is Makhno's greatest merit, and it is also his capital for winning in the Russian Civil War. To tell you the truth, it's not easy, and it's very admirable. But this category of doers also has the most obvious shortcomings. They can only learn from what they have learned and then improve. And the part that goes beyond their practical experience is the blank.
For example, this time, it seems that Makhno is out of the way, like a red-eyed bull heading straight to Kiev, with a posture of not giving up for Petliura to relieve the siege. But did he really want to break through Frunze's encirclement and save Petliura?
Hey, definitely not! Makhno did not have too many troops at hand, and none of them exceeded 30,000 at his peak. His anarchic style of organization made it difficult to sustain a large army, and the way he fought best determined the size of his troops.
Let's put it this way, with Makhno's full net worth, and even with the fact that Petliura, who is cowering in Kyiv and does not rise, it is at best a tie with Frunze. Previously, he and Petliura had the advantage. A big reason is that he and Petliula resisted one head-on and harassed the other behind the back, which made Frunze unable to keep his head busy.
And now. With Mironov's containment (in fact, he had fewer troops than Makhno), Makhno could not harass Frunze, who wholeheartedly cleaned up Petliulana and called it simple.
Seeing this, everyone should understand, if Makhno goes straight to Kiev and goes to relieve Petliura, Frunze is not too afraid, he is not Makhno's opponent in sports warfare and guerrilla warfare, but he is tough head-on, Makhno and Petliura together are not his person!
Makhno also knows this truth, so he is preparing to rush towards Kyiv, more for show, to set up a trap for Mironov. As mentioned earlier, Mironov had fewer troops than him, and before it was more about containing him. And Makhno thought of a lot of good methods, but he didn't have a problem with Mironov, and in desperation, he could only use the strategy of encircling Wei to save Zhao.
Nominally to relieve the siege of Kyiv, in fact, it was to lure Mironov into pursuit, and then he caught Mironov off guard halfway. Eliminate Mironov, and then he Makhno can continue to harass Frunze as before, so that Frunze will not be able to deal with Petliula with all his strength, so as to achieve the goal of coexistence.
This trick is very cunning, once Mironov is confused and stupidly catches up, I am afraid that he will be attacked head-on by Makhno, and in the end Ukraine will still be a mess. And this is the main reason why Frunze spoke highly of Makhno and considered him a natural military strategist.
But even if Makhno was a natural military strategist, Frunze was no worse than him. In a sense, Frunze was also a natural military strategist, and Frunze did not receive too systematic military education, nor did he constantly self-study and constantly summarize and grow up in practice.
And the biggest difference between him and Makhno is that Makhno has always been a wild man, always living on the experience he has accumulated before. In today's words, Makhno is a top student of social university, and Frunze is not only a top student of social university, but also actively self-examine, becoming an alternative scholar with both social experience and diploma.
Therefore, Makhno's little bit of ghost calculation and cleverness do not have much meaning in front of him, which is also an important reason why Frunze was able to support the situation in Ukraine in an unfavorable situation with one enemy and two enemies.
And Makhno also underestimated his opponents, not only the self-taught alternative scholar Frunze, but also the military genius Mironov. Frunze could see through his little tricks, and so could Mironov.
After receiving the news of Makhno's north trip to Kiev, Mironov sent a telegram to Frunze saying: "Makhno wants to go north and rescue Petliura, so you might as well let go of a road and let him enter Kiev...... Trapped his troops inside the city of Kyiv. Limit his range of motion. Strangle it with a head-on fight! ”
Mironov was also ruthless enough. If Frunze accepts his advice and really lets Makhno enter Kyiv, it will be tantamount to abolishing Makhno's most advantageous weapon. It's true that Makhno can't fight head-on, but that's really not what he and his troops do best. Once they fell into positional warfare, his troops were shackled, and they could no longer make trouble for Frunze and Mironov with mobile and flexible tactics. I'm afraid I'm going to be blown up by Frunze.
Makhno's entry into Kiev will not only be militarily inferior, but will also cause great trouble politically. As mentioned earlier, he and Petliura were not all the same, and the differences between the two sides were greater than those between Makhno and the Bolsheviks.
It is hard to imagine that such two people with huge differences would work together, and if Makhno really entered Kiev, I am afraid that there will soon be a conflict with Petliura, and then it will be funny if there is a first infighting.
Frunze did not fully agree with Mironov's construction. Letting go of the encirclement of Kyiv, Petliura was left without pressure. How could Makhno go to join him? Makhno is not a fool again! Frunze's idea was: if Mironov could entangle Makhno to the death, Makhno would obediently entangle with Mironov. If he does not come to the rescue of Petliura, then he will besiege the city, besiege Kyiv and then crush Petliura like a grinding disc steadily;
And if Mironov can't entangle Makhno, or Makhno himself runs to Kyiv to find trouble, then he will not attack Kyiv, but turn around and use the main forces to fight Makhno first with Mironov, and solve this fly who likes to stir up the situation first.
All in all, Frunze's offensive on Kyiv is resilient and fully prepared for all situations. It can even be said that before Makhno did not show his true purpose, Frunze's attack on Kyiv was all for show. To put it bluntly, it is to throw stones and ask for directions, that is, to see Makhno's reaction.
It should be said that Frunze's plan worked, and Makhno went north, although Makhno's real purpose was to fight Mironov's ambush, but inevitably the distance between him and Frunze was shortened! And Makhno is right between Mironov and Frunze, as long as Frunze moves fast enough, he can completely rush up and eat Makhno!
So, in the end, Frunze's plan was: Mironov feigned a trick and went to pursue Makhno. In fact, it acts as a decoy, holding Makhno firmly entangled. And Frunze's main force quickly moved south to surround Makhno and wipe it out in one fell swoop!
Compared with Mironov's plan, Frunze's plan was more active and more operable, even Mironov had to admit that Frunze was more clever, so he willingly acted as bait!
However, this decoy is not so easy to use, if Mironov's watch is too difficult, and before Frunze's main force arrives on the battlefield, the guy who is very good at running will definitely escape. Of course, you can't show that you have to be too wasteful, after all, this is acting and not really pushing the troops into the fire pit.
Anyway, the degree of it is very difficult to grasp, it completely depends on Mironov's on-the-spot command, and he has to make Makhno not only unable to eat his troops, but also unwilling to give up.
The decisive battle soon began, and when the main force of Mironov's army hurriedly stepped into Makhno's carefully set trap, the latter was overjoyed.
"Quick! Mironov must be eaten before Frunze reacts! ”
It can be seen that Makhno is not a fool, he also knows that this is a risky move, and he also thinks of the threat brought by Frunze. However, he was a kind of fluke, always thinking that he was more clever than Mironov and Frunze, and could fight a big victory that changed the tide of the battle before the other side reacted.
The praying mantis catches the cicada and the yellow finch is behind, and who can laugh in the end, it depends on who plays better. However, it is clear that Mironov and Frunze were more prepared, so after Makhno took the bait, they moved quite quickly.
For example, Frunze, whose main force was still pretending to attack Kyiv an hour ago, but as soon as he learned of Makhno's plan, he immediately withdrew from the attack and almost spread his legs and ran south. And Mironov's cousin was even better, his troops fought very smartly, and did not stupidly fight with Makhno, but fought and retreated, and constantly abandoned the position to firmly attract Makhno.
Of course, Mironov did not blindly retreat and give up his position, he was about to counterattack every once in a while, fully deducing what is called the heroic temperament of being unyielding on the verge of death. All in all. Makhno was attracted to him. I want to swallow this piece of fat with all my heart. But he didn't realize that Frunze came much faster than expected.
When Frunze's cavalry unit exploded Makhno's chrysanthemums, the guerrilla warfare and sports warfare expert was still a little incredulous, and he couldn't figure out how Frunze came so quickly. However, he was caught off guard, but Makhno really had two brushes, and he personally led the rearguard troops to fight back the encirclement of Frunze's cavalry, avoiding the danger of collapse as soon as they came up.
But there was only so much Makhno could do, and it was when he realized that something was wrong. When he was about to withdraw his troops, Mironov began a counterattack on all fronts with a wave of his hand, and he was completely out of the way, throwing all the reserves into it in one go.
Of course, Mironov is not ready to solve Makhno in one go, that is unrealistic, after all, he is less than Makhno. Mironov's idea was to entangle Makhno so firmly that he could not withdraw from the battlefield lightly. To put it bluntly, Mironov was buying time for Frunze.
Under the counterattack of Mironov's madness and regardless of gains and losses, Makhno could not go if he wanted to, and his troops were completely entangled with Mironov's troops. I can't move at all. And Frunze is also powerful enough, under his spur. The main forces of the Ukrainian Front soared hundreds of kilometers in a day and night, blocking Makhno's way like a divine soldier descending from heaven.
After a terrible and bloody battle, Makhno broke out of the encirclement with only a few troops and fled in the direction of Romania. Once illustrious and invincible, he withdrew from the stage of Ukrainian history under the attack of Frunze and Mironov.
Makhno fell, leaving Petliula alone to hold on. In fact, he can't last long, or the reason why this brother can last so long is entirely because of Makhno's troubles, after Makhno finishes playing, with his military ability, he will be packed up by Frunze and Mironov in minutes.
To be honest, Petliura's military ability is really average, in fact, when Frunze and Mironov besieged Makhno, he still had a chance. If he can take the initiative to jump out of the turtle shell of Kyiv and learn Makhno's way of fighting with the Red Army, he may be able to support it for a while longer.
However, Petliura did nothing, he seemed to be very confident in the defense of Kiev, desperately ordered the troops to strengthen the fortifications, and then went around grabbing food, that posture was ready to fight a protracted war, and he was single-mindedly waiting for the godfather of the Entente to come to his rescue.
Even this idiot confidently declared to the godfathers: "I can hold out in Kyiv for a year!" Frunze don't want to take a step into Kyiv! ”
And what is more funny and slap in the face is that his bold words have not fallen, under the onslaught of Frunze and Mironov, Kiev only held out for less than a hundred hours, and this poor creature was forced to escape from Kyiv disguised as a refugee before he could hold out for five days.
Petliura went all the way west, trekking through Western Ukraine, and fled to Berlin in one go. In Berlin, he established a Ukrainian government-in-exile under the banner of the Central Rada of Ukraine, hoping that his godfather would defeat the Bolsheviks in Poland and help him recover the rivers and mountains.
But Petliura never looked forward to this day, never setting foot in Ukraine again in his lifetime, and his government-in-exile was abandoned by his godfather after it lost its usefulness. For the rest of his life, he went into exile, begging his father to worship his grandmother, kneeling and licking his godfather, until he was mysteriously assassinated in 1926.
That's the end of Petliura's story, in fact, after he was driven out of Ukraine by Frunze, his political career came to an end, and he could no longer make any waves. On the contrary, it was Frunze, who defeated him and Makhno, who ushered in spring.
I have to say that in this time and space, because of the addition of a certain immortal, Frunze's exploits in the civil war are not so eye-catching, and they are not even as good as Tukhachevsky. If he continues at this pace, he will never have the same high status as he has in history.
But Ukraine's victory came at a better time, and his troops were finally able to get out of the Ukrainian quagmire and go to Poland to support the fighting before the decisive battle that was about to break out in Poland. Although his troops are not numerous, they can play a key role in critical moments.
Of course, the critical moment has not yet come, and the decisive battle that broke out in Poland is still Tukhachevsky's stage for the time being, and the young Red Napoleon is actively mobilizing his troops, preparing to take advantage of Foch's large-scale offensive to fight a war of annihilation.
"The American Expeditionary Force on the right flank of the enemy is our main target, and in this battle, we will concentrate the strength of two armies with a total of nine divisions to annihilate it!"
Two armies were half of the Belarusian side, and according to Tukhachevsky's plan, he would use half of his forces to block the British and French troops, and the other half to eliminate the Americans. Judging from the comparison of forces on the battlefield, his plan seems to be feasible - the Americans are relatively poor in combat, it is right to pinch the soft persimmon first, and the strength of the two armies is fully sufficient to eat it. As for the two armies that fought the sniper war, it should not be a big problem to block the eight divisions of Britain and France. Even as long as the Americans can be eliminated quickly, it is possible to eat meat from the British and French troops again.
The plan looked good, but Ubolevich, who learned about Tukhachevsky's plan, was taken aback! (To be continued......)
