Volume II Summary

After the second volume was written, I looked at it with the word count of WORD, and it was 864,000 words.

A little more than the first volume.

This ending came to mind when I wrote the last part of this chapter.

Regarding the question of how this volume will end, I chatted with my wife for a while, and I originally thought of a scene.

But the specific chapters are written, and I think it would be better to end here.

And so it ends here.

With an award ceremony, with a thank-you speech.

After all, for Hulay, this is a stage in his career and a summary of his past football career.

Before moving forward, it is necessary to solve the problems left over from the past and put down the burden that everyone originally carried. Only in this way can the steps be light and powerful, and the walk can be faster and better.

That's why I chose the symbolic scene of the award ceremony at the end of this volume.

Sometimes, when you start writing, you may only have a very vague intention, and a lot of things come out of your head as you write and write - of course, are there any authors who have everything in mind from the beginning? Absolutely, but I'm not that kind of person.

I'm not good at writing outlines, and I don't write outlines, and many times when I ask me to write outlines, I feel that I can't write the book at all. But when I started writing the text, I was struck by what popped up in my head.

The second volume focuses on the first two seasons of Hulay's career, the beginning of his professional football career, but the main thread is the relationship between him and his father.

This is the only thing that was established before I started writing the second volume.

The plot of avenging my father in the FA Cup final was gradually forming in my head before I even wrote the second volume, so I had already thought of the chapter name before then, and used the lyrics of the song by the Hedgehog.

Because it really fits what I want to say.

The grievances and hatreds of the older generation were resolved here by the young people.

Whether it is a successful person or a person who does nothing, the older generation will always grow old, and their things will grow old with age.

Just like the law of development in this world, a generation, even the mainstream generation of this society, will eventually grow old, and what will grow old with them is the so-called mainstream social thoughts, concepts, lifestyles, and principles that their generation adheres to......

A lot of things get old, become unimportant, and disappear.

And young people, those who are despised by the older generation, will gradually grow up and become the mainstream of society, and the young people's code of conduct and way of thinking will gradually replace the old generation.

And so on and so forth, and so on.

The whole society will progress because of this.

Otherwise, no matter how powerful and correct the older generation is, if it never gets old, how can the world continue to move forward?

I symbolized this with a football game, with Hulay's barb goal.

Hu Lixin, a father, has always regarded himself as your father, and always feels that Hu Lai is still his son, a little kid who doesn't understand anything. Even if his son is already a star with a lot of fans and an adult who has achieved some success in professional football, he has not changed his mentality.

is like the Hago Gang sang in "The Second Half of the Nine Innings": Maybe I am an inconspicuous star on TV, but in their eyes, I am just a child who can't grow up.

This is not a special case of Hu Lixin alone, but the general mentality of countless parents and elders.

They always feel that they have eaten more salt than your boy has eaten, and they have walked more bridges than you have walked. Not more experienced than you?

Today's society is rapidly developing and changing, and we will marvel at how fast the world is changing ten years ago, let alone a few decades ago.

So Hu Lixin's inherent experience made him complacent, unable to get out, and for a while he couldn't accept his son's rapid progress, always worried that it was a flash in the pan, always afraid that one day he would wake up and find that everything was back to square one - why do you have this mentality? This is inseparable from his original experience.

Wasn't all his hard work and dedication shattered by Wang Xianke's kick?

This is his personal tragedy, but it is also the tragedy of that environmental era.

I saw that many readers scolded Hu Lixin for not being a man, and being a father and husband is not qualified...... I have to say, what you said is right, Hu Lixin is indeed such a person, and I also deliberately wrote in this direction.

He is not the kind of person who has the aura of the protagonist and can be defeated again and again, and finally counterattack.

Maybe one blow would be enough for him to fall and not get up.

It is precisely because of this that he is not optimistic about his son in every way, and he is so unoptimistic that he is annoying.

The best way to deal with this mentality is to let him see with his own eyes that no matter what difficulties he encounters, he can face them head-on and then defeat them.

So in this FA Cup final, he watched his son face his old nightmares and then pull off a hat-trick with a brilliant upside-down golden hook to knock the high-flying winner into the clouds.

Complete a young generation to replace and surpass the older generation.

At that moment, his mindset changed.

The sturdy shell that once wrapped around him also cracked.

He realized that the so-called tight protection he had done to his son was wrong, or rather, ...... Failed.

He used to think that as long as he kept his son away from the football that caused him to become the dick he is today, he could honestly study and go to college, and follow the path that everyone else walked, he could ensure that his son's future would not repeat his mistakes.

From a father's point of view, he was actually right.

But from Hulay's point of view, rebellion and rebellion as a son are naturally not wrong.

There are so many things in this world, how can everything be right and wrong?

After I made money by writing the Internet to support myself, my dad still had to feel that he still had to have an iron rice bowl: he spent a lot of effort and personal relationships to arrange a state-owned institution for his biological son - my father and my mother are reforming a family, and he and his ex-wife have a son - with a salary of 3,000 deaths a month, the income is not too high, but it is better to be stable and have a leisurely job.

In the eyes of people of my father's age, they came from the era of state-owned enterprises, and this job is the envy of many people, and he must use a lot of favors to get it. He has always been proud of this, feeling that he has arranged a good job for his son, and he is also competent as a father.

Of course, the fact is that I make a lot more money from writing books than I do from the dead pay of that institution. Now he is gradually not talking about iron rice bowls and compilation...... That's it.

But can you say my dad's notion is ridiculous?

When the economic situation is down, I don't know how many people feel how coveted it is to have a job in the establishment of drought and flood income.

If I hadn't caught up with the explosion of online literature by chance, would I really be able to support myself and my family by writing books?

At that time, I, a person with low emotional intelligence, am not good at dealing with people, and I won't get into trouble, and I don't know how many people I offend with a broken mouth, how much better can I live in than my brother by working for others?

But can you say that my dad is right?

In the tide of this era, how many young people will still cling to the limited number of places, and wait for death in an undynamic work environment until retirement?

Anyone who has a little idea will choose to leave.

During the Spring Festival of the year before last, I returned to the state-owned enterprise compound where I lived when I was a child.

I don't think I would have been living in this place for long, even if I hadn't written a book.

Regardless of ability, young people will always choose to step out of the familiar place since childhood, and step into that vast world, from rural to urban, from small city to big city...... To see and experience, failure or success, is a strong impetus of personal will, or the coercion of the tide of the times...... These things happen, not according to personal preference and will.

Back to Hu Lai and Hu Lixin, it's the same.

Hu Lixin's arrangement of his son, based on his experience and concepts, is the best solution.

And Hulai's rebellion and dissatisfaction with his father, based on his ability (plug-in), is also the best route he thinks.

There is no right or wrong, and Hu Lixin's persistence cannot be completely denied simply by Hu Lai's current success.

Of course, now that Hu Lixin saw his son defeat his former enemy, the knot in his heart was untied, and his opposition to what his son did was not so strong.

He may still be worried about his son's future, but he also knows that his son has grown up, and no matter how good or bad the future is, it will be up to him to solve it himself, not a father who can overstep his responsibilities.

Let's say something to beg for a beating: his son's annual income has reached millions, which is many times more than the income of other ordinary children, so it can't reassure him, as a father, so what should other ordinary parents do?

As for Wang Xianke, it is obvious that he has not yet reached the end, Hu Lai's revelations are just the first alarm for his originally peaceful and smooth sailing life, and he has not yet reached the end of the mountain.

In my plan, the end of the second volume is not to beat Wang Xianke to death with a stick, the core of the second volume is the resolution of the contradiction between Hu Lai and his father Hu Lixin, which is basically solved at present.

No matter what the result of Wang Xianke is, Hu Lixin has no pimples in his heart anyway, and he can also leave the burden of the past and move forward like a normal person.

But Hu Lixin let it go, it doesn't mean that Hu Lai let it go.

He took his father's burden and carried it on himself, wanting to fight Wang Xianke to the death.

This is the story of the next volume.

In fact, I have thought of some plans for how to solve Wang Xianke's problem, but I don't want to repeat Hu Lai and Sun He's way, on the one hand, the solution is too simple - of course, Sun He, as a small boss, is right to deal with it so simply, and it is not worth spending too much money on him, so I just beat him to death.

But Wang Xianke can't do it, he is the ultimate boss in China, I portrayed him as a winner in life, a person who has a little weight in Chinese football, and it is not for the sake of being so easy to bring down in the end.

Besides, deliberately kicking teammates is really a proof of freedom, and there is a lack of real hammer. Even if you find your former teammates, it can only prove that this kind of thing did happen, but it can't prove that Wang Xianke did it on purpose.

He himself does not admit it, and no one can be convicted.

So I chose to solve this problem in a different way.

For Hu Lai, it doesn't matter whether Wang Xianke pleads guilty or not, and it doesn't even matter whether the public thinks Wang Xianke did it intentionally.

Wang Xianke's complete finish is more important to him.

But how to make Wang Xianke completely finished?

As Hulay said: see once and fight once.

It's not just about beating him on the court, it's about hitting him in all directions.

But because it involves spoilers, I won't talk about it here.

Anyway, it's definitely not the kind of way where a former teammate accused Wang Xianke of deliberately hurting Hu Lixin from the sky, and then fans across the country scolded Wang Xianke.

After all, if it was just like this, it would be far from being a real blow to Wang Xianke. He's a successful manager now, and as long as he can lead the team to victory and championships, this moral blame will have little effect on him.

In short, that's all there is to say about Wang Xianke, everyone is waiting to read it in the third volume.

※※※

The change in the relationship between Hu Lai and Hu Lixin is the theme of this volume, no matter how much money Hu Lai has scored, how many coercion he has pretended, how many championships he has won, and how many things he has said...... This is the core of this volume.

It is a process between a father and a son that goes from confrontation to gradual reconciliation.

Of course, now they are not yet completely shaken hands, but a turning point has already appeared.

All the efforts of Comrade Xie Lan have finally seen the dawn of hope, and I am happy for her.

The two men were able to move from confrontation to reconciliation, and this woman was indispensable, and she was the number one contributor.

I especially like my Sheeran.

I've written a lot of books and written a lot about the mothers of the main characters, but this one is my favorite and the one I'm most emotionally invested in.

It's not just Xie Lan, Hu Lixin has also invested a lot of emotion and pen and ink in my creation, and there are many other characters.

There's a lot of content that some readers might think is just a glance away, all in order to create these characters and have them to shape this fictional world.

Again, if someone thinks that there is too much outside of football, it's water, then you are not the audience for this book.

As I've said before, I don't want to write about game after game, and the plot is completely driven by the schedule of the game.

In addition to the game, I write a lot of off-field content, writing about the plot that is not the main character's pretense, and writing about the characters who may only have one side to the main character, or who have never even met him.

I know that the mainstream competition is still one game after another, using the game to create contradictions, shape characters, advance the plot, pretend to be a slap in the face, and all the content revolves around the game. The early stage may be fine, but in the late stage it's basically game after game.

I've written this kind of essay before, and I've written a lot, but I can't write this book, and I want to try something else...... It's not called a new way, it's just a return in a sense to me.

Whether it's "Do You Care When I Play Football" or "We Are the Champions", it's all the way. Especially the latter, I didn't divide the plot by professional football season, all the considerations and content are just in the service of the plot, not the plot in the service of the schedule.

For the sake of plot development, considering the rhythm of the conflict, I can discard some completely unnecessary content, mention it at all, or not mention it at all, or put it later and write it in retrospective after a big plot has passed.

Make this book more like a book, rather than a strategy log for a football game.

This way of writing has also made me find more joy than before, so I have had a lot of fun writing this book so far. It doesn't matter if my grades are good or bad - as long as I am addicted to writing, even if the writing itself is painful, I am full of spirit.

Before writing this book, I talked to Seventy-Two (the author of Fake Heroes, Verdict, and Skywalkers) about my thoughts for the new book, and he asked me to write what I wanted to write, and that keeping it fun is the most important thing, and if it makes me happy, then use it.

I listened to his advice and decided to write the book "Fox in the Forbidden Zone", in an imaginary way, and write more about the parts outside the football field.

Some readers complained that this is an urban book, but I think sports is originally a theme under the category of cities.

Because the story of sports competition always takes place in the context of a modern city, and the people in it cannot be separated from this urban background, so when writing about sports competition, how can you not write about the city, how can you not write about the environment in which he lives?

As long as it is ensured that sports competition is still the core main line, the protagonist's way of success is still sports competition, and the solution of plot contradictions still depends on sports competition, then it is not off topic.

On this basis, why not add more off-site depictions?

Again, the key point is: are these additions good?

Whether the off-site drama is fascinating, whether the stories of those supporting characters can touch people's hearts, and whether the description of this world environment is real and credible.

These add up to the ultimate standard – is it good?

If it's good-looking, what's the problem?

If it's not good-looking, then something must go wrong, even if it's all about the competition, no one will watch it if it's not good-looking.

With this in mind, I will try to write the rest of the book as I have in mind.

If you really can't accept this approach, and feel that there is too much water outside the field, and that the part of the competition content that describes people other than the protagonist is too much water, then I would suggest very sincerely - let each other go, and don't tell me how to write in the chapter book review.

I understand what you're saying. Speaking of which, the average subscription of "The Heart of a Champion" is about to exceed 10,000, and there are not many books in the sports competition category that can exceed 10,000 per book, which means that I can still write a book that caters to the psychological expectations of the vast majority of readers, right?

But as I said in the preface, this is a wayward book, and it really doesn't expect to be recognized by everyone.

I'm very happy to have this result.

Seventeen years ago, when I first posted "Do You Care When I Play Football" online, I said that I hoped to find like-minded people.

Seventeen years later, I posted "Fox in the Forbidden Zone" on the Internet, hoping to find someone who could resonate with the story.

I didn't think that I could write a work that was popular all over the Internet, covering all readers and audiences in all directions.

Sports is originally a niche, and my way of writing is even more niche in the niche, I know all of this - before I opened the book, Butterfly Blue asked me what I was writing newly, and after I told him the general idea, he said: Damn, you are a niche minority, and the results may not be too good!

Of course I know, that's why at the end of the first volume, I felt elated that I had ordered more than three thousand.

I just wanted to write football for 17 years, and I inevitably got a little aesthetically tired - in the last book "Green Glory", I found that the happiest part I wrote was the interaction between Gao Zheng and Sister Feng - so I wanted to rediscover the impulse and joy that I had when I decided to write the story of Zhang Jun and Sophie in words.

The purest desire to pour out my feelings and thoughts accumulated bit by bit in my heart is to tell you through the stories and characters I have conceived.

This book is such an opportunity for me to start anew.

Good grades, of course, are important.

But most importantly, the most important thing is to write a book that satisfies me and gives an account of my seventeen years of online competitive writing.

To be honest, I don't know how long I'll be able to continue writing, after all, at first I thought I wouldn't be able to last even ten years. I remember when I wrote "The Winner is King" in the first 10th year, I made a 10-year summary, and told everyone that I hoped to write a second 10-year period, and then I would make a 20-year summary.

Looking at it now, twenty years should be no problem, but thirty years I am afraid that I really don't know.

After all, I am getting older, both physically and brainily, I have passed my prime, and like Hu Lixin, I am slowly unable to keep up with the times. Maybe I might also – no, for sure – be eliminated and replaced.

I'm going to grow old 100 percent.

Will I still be able to write something that will continue to resonate with everyone, will I still have a passion for writing, will I still have a lot to say about the world?

I do not know.

Some time ago the old cat retired, and I was still a little sad. In the afterword, he used the lake outside the window as the title, I have been to his house, I have seen the lake, it is indeed beautiful. It is a blessing to be able to look up at the beautiful scenery outside the window while writing.

So I began to collect the photos of the snow-capped mountains outside the study window that I had taken before, all of which I saw through the window glass while I was in the middle of the code, and planned to use the mountains outside the window as the title to write a long postscript when I retired.

When I look back on my career, there are a few books that are the most important to me, and I can explain something to myself and you, and then I am extremely happy.

And the book "Fox of the Forbidden Zone" is something I hope to put on the list.

Thank you all for listening to me ramble on and on.

This is a summary of the second volume, how to write it is the same as the testimonial......

In short, Hulai's story is still in progress and not over, so please look forward to the next story.

I'll do my best to write it well.

In my way.

Finally, I will send you a few photos of the mountain outside the window of my study, in the Easter egg chapter.
