The purpose of our training is to transform our troops into a unit that can adapt to modern warfare, and the upgrading of equipment is certainly indispensable.

At this point, the airborne troops showed their superiority, and the 81 Type assault rifle was shipped 5,000 in one go, as well as various improved or newly produced equipment, such as the Type 79 sniper rifle, the Type 78 82MM recoilless gun, and so on.

Among them, it is especially worth mentioning that this 78 type 82 no, in the past we used the 65 type 82 no, but after the battle of 79 years, it exposed some shortcomings that are very fatal for recoilless guns, such as insufficient armor piercing thickness and too short firing range. In particular, this range is only 300 meters when firing armor-piercing shells.

This directly caused the fighters to prefer to bring a 40 rocket launcher that was short, light, did not require high launch requirements, was not easy to expose the target, and had a range of 300 meters, but the thickness of armor-piercing was higher than that of recoilless. (NOTE: 65 TYPE 82 NON-ARMOR PIERCING THICKNESS IS 120MM, FOUR-ZERO FIRE IS 150MM)

So this 82 nothing is destined to need to be improved, otherwise it will be replaced by a bazooka on the battlefield that will be a matter of time.

The improved 82 is the Type 78, this recoilless gun was designed and finalized in 79, and mass production has just begun this year. Compared to the Type 65, it had several features: the barrel was 100 mm shorter, which made it easier to maneuver on the battlefield, especially in the jungles, tunnels or trenches of Vietnam. THE THICKNESS OF THE ARMOR-PIERCING SHELL HAS BEEN INCREASED TO 150 MM, AND THE FIRING RANGE OF THE ARMOR-PIERCING PROJECTILE HAS ALSO BEEN INCREASED FROM 300 METERS TO 500 METERS, WHICH MAKES IT NECESSARY FOR INFANTRY TO BE EQUIPPED WITH RECOILLESS GUNS. After all, its anti-tank and anti-armor range on the battlefield will be 200 meters longer than that of a rocket launcher.

This equipment is nothing to our synthetic battalion. It can even be said that our synthetic battalion has long been equipped with more advanced gadgets. For example, AK74, such as SVD, etc., but this is also the reason why our synthetic battalion is special and the number of people is small. Ordinary troops are still equipped with 56 and a half and 56 submachine guns, and some troops who have fought may have captured some AK47 or SVD equipment from the Yue devils, but that is only a small part, and it is still exchanged for life.

However, the airborne troops were able to obtain in one breath batches of newly produced equipment that could be equipped with a regiment, and this was not something that ordinary troops could do.

The next to appear at the base were dozens of Z-5s and a batch of Beijing jeeps.

Originally, according to our assumption, each battalion was assigned six helicopters and six Beijing jeeps to cooperate with the paratroopers. But Commander Xu summed it up like this: How can six helicopters in one battalion be enough? Every three helicopters for a formation isn't it? There are only two formations of the six helicopters, and there are two infantry companies, and one helicopter formation is fighting with one infantry company, so there are no helicopters as a reserve!

When Commander Xu said this, I think it's true, you must know that when the Ludao helicopter fights, as long as the trigger is not controlled for a while, the bullet will run out quickly, so it does need a formation as a reserve to replenish ammunition or replace it in an emergency.

To be honest, it wasn't that we didn't take this into account before, but we didn't dare to ask for more because we were worried about the lack of helicopters. Otherwise, helicopters and other things flying in the sky are not always better. Even if you don't need so many helicopters to fight, it's convenient to airdrop ammunition supplies or reinforcements to paratroopers. It's just that we're worried about asking for more. The superiors would think that we were opening our mouths, so they thought twice and set the number of helicopters at six per battalion.

But these problems are nothing in the eyes of Commander Xu, and he waved his hand: "Nine helicopters and nine Beijing jeeps in each battalion, thirty helicopters in the whole regiment and thirty Beijing jeeps, and the extra three are for maintenance and replacement!" ”

In this way, we have a lot of space in the helicopter, you must know that our army's direct five changes because of the lack of engine power (the engine has always been the weak point of our country, and it is still the case in modern times), so the straight five changes to lift a Beijing jeep 1395 kg has reached the maximum load capacity of the helicopter. At this time, if the helicopter wants to carry some more personnel or equipment, it will be in a state of overcut.

Although the Zhiwu can be overcut to 1,550 kilograms, it will be very clumsy when flying, and it will not be able to operate flexibly if a Beijing jeep is lifted from the outside of the helicopter.

So if it was just six helicopters, it would have been really difficult for us to arrange, and now we have nine of them for each battalion...... Six of them are used to lift the Beijing Jeep, and the other three are used to transport ammunition or carry personnel, while also providing necessary cover for other helicopters along the way.

The last part is the selection of soldiers.

This job is also the most troublesome for us...... The reason for this is that Commander Xu's request is that those who can be selected from the airborne troops should be selected from the airborne troops as much as possible, and only when the airborne troops cannot find a suitable one should they find a way to transfer them from other units.

Of course, Commander Xu's request is reasonable, and he must do his best to keep his subordinates, on the other hand, because the soldiers of the airborne troops can parachute, and even if the soldiers transferred from other units have good professional quality, they will not necessarily pass the parachute jump.

But to be honest, many times I don't want to choose from the Airborne Forces.

One reason is that the Airborne Forces have never interrupted their training.

There are advantages and disadvantages to not interrupting training, and the advantage is that the physical fitness and other qualities of the airborne troops are quite excellent, and they can also master the use of various firearms, and there are even many sharpshooters among them.

The disadvantage is that most of their squad and platoon tactics and battalion and company tactics are still under the thinking mode of pure infantry, and even because the airborne troops have rarely been heavily equipped for a long time...... This was determined by the fact that the parachutes and transport aircraft were not advanced enough, so the commanders of the Airborne Forces were accustomed to the offensive mode of rifle and mortar.

These offensive modes have become a kind of conditioned reflex in the minds of the airborne troops because of their training and exercises over and over again in peacetime. And it is quite difficult for us to change their "conditioning" now.

The second is that the soldiers of the Airborne Forces have no combat experience.

This is very important for a unit, because no matter how hard a unit trains in peacetime, when it first goes to the battlefield, its combat effectiveness will be greatly reduced due to nervousness, fear, and other emotions.

It's like what scientists have found that if a pilot survives a few battles, he has a high chance of surviving the rest of the battle. In fact, the same is true for infantry, often because the probability of dying in the first few battles is high, and then because of the experience and knowledge of how to control their negative emotions, the possibility of their sacrifice will be much smaller.

So if I had a choice, I would rather recruit some fighters with combat experience in ordinary troops. After all, the war with the Yue devils has been fought until now, and the soldiers who have fought are everywhere.

But this is obviously not going to work...... Just kidding, if we really do this, it won't exclude all the soldiers and cadres of the Airborne Forces, which means that the training regiment we formed has nothing to do with the Airborne Forces at all.
