Chapter 337: Convergence
"It's really you, I almost don't recognize you." As Sarah turned, Karn saw that the bloody back belonged to Sarah.
"How did you get hurt like this? It doesn't matter, right? Kai'Sa asked with concern.
"I'm fine." Sarah looked at the burning Leviathan again, and the meaning was self-evident.
"Revenge?"
Sarah nodded: "I killed him with my own hands." β
"After taking revenge, the next step is to defend Bilgewater, this is your city. Even Planck didn't go to the Black Mist to fight the undead, and you're going to do better than him. β
Karn knew how it felt, for he had experienced the feeling of being empty and lost after killing her enemy, so he helped her find a new purpose.
"What are you talking about? How many others are like you? Jax spoke suddenly, stirring up the atmosphere.
The three of them looked at him, and he ran after Karn, pulling out a boiled egg out of nowhere, and began to replenish his strength.
Karn didn't know how to answer the question, now it's three, maybe more in the future?
Jax tapped the egg a few times on the lamppost, then peeled the shell unhurriedly.
"Who is this?" Sarah asked politely.
"Met on the road."
Sarah looked at him carefully again, and her mouth moved: "Weirdo." β
Running around in the night of the eclipse with a lamppost, and eating boiled eggs calmly on the foul-smelling slaughtering dock, it's not a weirdo.
"Now we're going to find a way to survive the second half of the night, or help the city get through it." Karn thought about it for a moment, and decided where to go. "Go find Aloy, she'll dispel the black fog."
"But I just killed her lover, will she be so angry that she will directly smash my head with the idol?"
"So what, as long as Billgewater and Barjou don't part for a day, you'll always have to face her. Even if she does rekindle her old relationship with Planck, she can't show it on the surface, and she can't declare a personal vendetta. So you don't have to worry that she will deliberately target you. β
"You're right." She exhaled, "Let's go." β
Karn looked back, and Jax followed. At first, he didn't know why, but then he realized that he had promised to fight again another day, and he thought to himself that this guy wouldn't take it seriously.
But that's fine, he hasn't reached the Eternal Flame yet, and if Jax walks away he doesn't know where to find him, and he's missing an opportunity.
They left the slaughterhouse and headed towards the Python Bridge to the west, where they met the Lucians halfway through.
The couple is alive and well, and not only that, but they are accompanied by dozens of people, some of whom are ragged and look like refugees from the slums.
When the group saw the appearance of the three people, they thought that they had encountered an evil spirit again, and they trembled with nervousness. I don't understand why the Sentinels of Light who have been protecting them all the way don't do it.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Kai'Sa said.
"Honey, so do we." Senna said happily.
It was still too difficult for the two of them to protect these dozens of people, and every time the mist surged, a few unlucky souls would be taken away, and they were unable to save them all.
Now they met Kaisha and the others, and finally someone could help them resist the undead who killed their lives.
"You're going to the temple on the top of the hill too?" Karn looked at Lucian, it was no accident that they had met here.
The surrounding terrain is open, and there is no way to hide from the undead.
"Yes."
"How do you know where to go?"
"They told me." Lucian pointed to the men he had rescued: "Some say that the temple on the top of the hill is guarded by the priests of Naga Kapolos, who can hide from the undead. β
"Let's go, then." After figuring out the reason, the group of people who met set off again. Aside from some simmering queen grass, these paups were exposed to the black mist without any protection, sucking their life force.
They won't last long, and even if they make it to the temple alive, most of them will be seriously ill in the future.
But if you can save it, try your best to only a few.
Tonight was unusual, even though the road was littered with corpses or unguarded catches, there were no dock rats to nibble on this delicious meal.
They walked along the plank road to the top of the cliff, and along the way they saw many houses that had been knocked open, and the broken doors and windows faintly told one tragedy after another.
Karn walked behind Kaisha's side, where he could see her every move. He signed one of her hands and told her to just walk forward and not look to either side.
"I'm not that vulnerable." Kaisha told Karn, "I just feel angry. β
"Why the anger."
"So many people have sacrificed their lives in vain to pay for the mistakes made by one person."
Karn knew who she was talking aboutβthe Ruined King, the one responsible for all this tragedy.
The destruction of Fuguang Island and the spread of the Night of Soul Eclipse are all due to his selfish actions.
"You thought he was great at first." He asked nervously.
He can not care about anything else, but he can't not care about Kaisha.
"Such love is distorted." Kai'Sa said without thinking.
"What if the protagonist of the story was us?"
"This will not happen, I am not an unarmed queen, I will not push this difficult choice in front of you." She stopped, fell to the back of the group, turned to Karn, and said, "But if something like this happens, I don't want you to do it for me. β
Karn looked her in the eye, and she really thought so.
"I'll just ask, don't take it seriously. Let's go. He pushed her forward, treading the path she had walked with his head down, and without taking two steps, he spoke in a voice that only he could hear.
"I'm sorry."
Then he looked up and found Kai'Sa looking at him with a complicated look in his eyes.
was seen through.
"Believe me, nothing like this will happen."
Karn nodded, "I believe you, I won't let that happen." β
They clasped each other's hands.
In the black fog, a bridge quietly emerged.
"We're almost there." Sarah stood at the head of the bridge and waited for them, she said, "This is the Python Bridge, and after passing it, you will go to the temple." β
The python bridge literally meanders, the bridge deck is not symmetrical, and the railings on both sides are shaped like waves pushing forward.
"Is that the architecture all the way around Bajou? It looks awkward. Kahn said.
If symmetry is a kind of beauty in human aesthetics, then such a style is the opposite of beauty, an anti-human design.
However, such a structure does create the illusion of an ever-present movement, incorporating the teachings of Naga Kapoulos.
"Perhaps." Sarah poked her head out of the broken armrest and looked around.
"Bilgewater is choking."
