Chapter Twenty-Three: Kill the King!

After the Lakers' comfortable victory over the Jazz in the opener on Oct. 31, the Lakers had a few days off.

"Oh, the 76ers and the Bulls are so anxious."

On Nov. 1, the Bulls faced the 76ers back-to-back, and the Lakers players sat around to watch the game.

The 76ers have been a shotgun this season.

Starting lineup: point guard Iverson, scoring guard Stark House, small forward Witherspoon, power forward Odom, center Coleman.

With the addition of Adelman's coaching, the team has changed dramatically.

"The left-handed magician has something!" Watching Odom hold the ball in the high post, juggling the ball to his teammates to complete the attack, Rodman has no way to interfere with him due to his height. The Lakers' players instantly felt that Odom was the best rookie of the year.

"Odom fits too well with Adelman's Princeton system. Adelman was also confident, and actually took half of the offensive initiation from Iverson and handed it over to a newcomer to handle the ball. ”

"Iverson's half-possessed, half-off-ball style of play is more threatening. His advantage in speed is evident off the ball. Odom's height, vision, and passing awareness are also too good, and there are no more than five big forwards in the league who can do this. ”

Bryant nodded in satisfaction, and Odom acted as the pivot of Princeton, perhaps the best position for him.

Under Adelman's coaching, Iverson did not give up three-point shooting, but made more three-point shots, which is a very big difference from the previous life. A large number of three-point shooting can not only make Iverson more efficient and less difficult to shoot, but also effectively reduce his physical consumption, so Iverson will no longer fall to the top in his early 30s.

I have to say that Adelman's Princeton system is too suitable for this 76ers. They actually drove the bull to the ground!

Odom will be out of form and hasn't adjusted out of the offseason.

Iverson threw Harper out of sight.

Stackhouse is reserved for defending Jordan.

Coleman seemed to be rejuvenated, frantically grabbing the board under the basket for a second offense.

At halftime, the 76ers led the Bulls by 8 points at 54:46!

Angry.

Kobe Bryant could clearly tell that Jordan was angry.

Sure enough, the reporter said that a violent quarrel was heard coming from the Bulls locker room in the midfield.

In the second half, the Bulls had several players with black circles on the court, and their aura was different.

Jordan took the lead and strangled Iverson personally!

When the 76ers' sharpest knife, Iverson was blocked, and the other players obviously lost their backbone.

Odom was still able to hold the ball under Rodman's fierce aggression, but his teammates could no longer run into a suitable gap.

"It's a turnaround."

"A bull is still a bull after all."

"Michael was too strong on both ends of the floor in the second half."

In the end, the game ended with the Bulls winning 105-91 over the 76ers.

Jordan had 32 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 block and 5 turnovers.

Iverson scored 17 points in the first half and only 6 points in the second half under Jordan's defense, with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 4 turnovers.

Odom had 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

Stackhouse had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

"Although the 76ers lost, their future is really bright."

"That's right, maybe they'll make the playoffs this season."

This is not a lie, as long as the 76ers can carry through Adelman's coaching. Honestly playing according to this Princeton system, it is definitely not a difficult thing to make the playoffs.

"The bulls are struggling." A lot of players can see this, it's not a matter of Pippen missing alone, it's a problem with the spirit of the whole team. With players lacking ambition and obsessing over the glory of the past, and declining physical fitness as they get older, it's clearly not enough for Jordan to play hard alone.

"Don't think about it, Jordan and the Zen master will take care of it in the end." Bryant stood up and walked straight out of the video studio.

"yes, never expect your opponent to get weaker, let's get stronger!" O'Neill followed.

...

On November 4, the Lakers faced the Sacramento Kings on the road.

The Kings announced a slump in the summer, with all the core players on the shelves, and any of the slightest trade value being sold out.

This game is still a massacre without suspense.

The Lakers didn't even play their trademark defensive play, and OK didn't push too hard. Relying on just one team basketball slaughtered the king to the ground.

At the end of the game, the Lakers 113:56 Kings.

Double the kill!

A difference of 57 points!

The Lakers had six players score in double figures.

Bryant had 26 points, 7 rebounds, 14 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and 1 turnover.

O'Neal had 23 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 blocks and 2 turnovers.

Mullin had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Dell Curry had 16 points and four rebounds.

Horry had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

Campbell had 11 points and nine rebounds.

The Lakers' two rookies, Stephen Jackson and DeJuan Witt, both went on the court for a few minutes.

"Stephen played well."

"Yes, it's okay to be able to sign such a potential rookie with this pick."

By the middle of the game, the Kings' home court had already become the Lakers' home court.

Sacramento is not far from Los Angeles, and there are a lot of fans here who have come from Los Angeles.

In addition, the Lakers' players played so well that many fans turned against them.

So it became a situation where everyone was cheering for the Lakers.

...

With two big wins, the Lakers returned to Los Angeles.

On Nov. 7, they will take on the Knicks.

This season's Knicks did not make much moves in the offseason, and still retained the previous triumvirate combination of Gorilla Patrick Ewing, mid-range king Alan Houston, and mom Larry Johnson as the core.

Just 3 million signed Chris Mills, the Cavaliers' starting small forward last season as a supplement to the bench.

With John Starks, Charles Oakley, Charlie Ward and many other giants. The strength on paper is still very good.

They are also bound to be a strong team in the East. There's the core, there's the role players, and there's a whole bunch of bench killers.

But Kobe Bryant knew that their biggest flaw was the lack of a playmaker.

And this, in the face of the Lakers, is a dead end!

The New York Knicks, who do not have a ball handler, may be worse than the Jazz in the Lakers' historic defensive line!
