Chapter 25 The Great Western Forum Arena
The preseason kicks off after a brief group practice session with the Lakers, and the MLS preseason is a warm-up game for teams before the start of the regular season.
The reason for this is that before the start of the season, each team has quite a change in their lineup. In order to allow each team to run in the lineup, familiarize themselves with the playing style of their respective teams, determine the lineup of each team for the new season, and also improve the communication between players and coaches, several games are held that do not count towards the regular season record.
The preseason tournament is also often held abroad, with the aim of expanding its overseas influence. This year's Lakers have no overseas schedule.
For the coaching staff, this is an opportunity to practice. For the players, it's a process of getting back into competitive form.
The Lakers have six preseason games this year, against the San Francisco Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and city rivals Los Angeles Clippers in the same Pacific Division as the Lakers. Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons.
The first game was played against the San Francisco Warriors at the Great Western Forum Arena in Los Angeles. The Great Western Forum is located on West Manchester Boulevard, across 90th Street, and north of the Hollywood Park Racetrack and Casino, 3 miles from Los Angeles International Airport.
Forum Arena was the home of the Los Angeles Lakers from 1967 to 1999, and it is also the longest-serving home court for the Lakers. Here, they have won a total of 6 championships. It was also the venue for basketball at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
For Bryant, this is where the dream begins, and he misses the locker room, the smell, and those orange chairs.
It would be an honour for him to have the opportunity to take a leap forward in this stadium again.
In the locker room, Harris announced his starting line-up. Kobe Bryant, who has been outstanding in training games recently, is not on the starting lineup.
Kobe Bryant knows that this will take a process, and so far, Kobe has been patient.
Bryant walked to the corner of the locker room, where he was familiar with it. He has submitted his jersey number to the team, and the No. 8 purple and gold jersey lies quietly in the closet.
The reason for choosing No. 8 again is that 20 years later, the Lakers arena can still fly with the two jerseys of 8 and 24.
This is Kobe's pride and his obsession. By the time he wore the number 24 again, the number 8 shirt was bound to become a legend.
βGOοΌLAKERSοΌβ O'Neill was twisting the rope loudly, he was still so showy.
Kobe Bryant stepped forward and put his hand on O'Neal's hand, he wouldn't be the arrogant boy in this life.
The great Shaq finally conquered this high school boy with his charm, and O'Neill was secretly delighted. I saw Kobe Bryant and his gang joining in. This small group is full of newcomers this year, and although they are all substitutes, the potential of Kobe Bryant and other players has long been seen in the team's training.
The absence of O'Neal's starting lineup is not even a match for Kobe's gang. They are also willing to join the team activities, and O'Neill is still very happy.
"Alright, guys, let's play." Del Harris shouted to the players.

Spotlights shine on the stadium and crowds of spectators surge. Photographers posed in every corner, and the Lakers players were the center of attention.
Bryant took a deep breath in the tunnel, he loved the vibe, he missed it.
"Let's get out of the game! Kobe Bryant, you go first. O'Neill shouted.
"The first to come out was our No. 13 rookie, No. 8 from Raulmayne High School. Kobe Bryant. The DJ's deep voice cheered Kobe's appearance.
The audience was cheering, and the audience was not familiar with Kobe, but they did not skimp on their applause.
Bryant smiled and stepped onto the court, and he would use his performance to become a legend in front of these lovely spectators.
"Our finale was a legendary center forward of 2.18 meters, a top 50 superstar. Player No. 34, Big Shark, O'Neal! β
The arena boiled and people cheered and cheered for the Lakers superstar, who believed that under his leadership, the Lakers would achieve another great thing.
San Francisco Warriors, starting lineup: PG Mark Price, SG, Ratril Sprewell, SF, Chris Mullin, PF, Joe Smith, C, Todd Fowler.
The roster on paper is luxurious, and this year's goal is to get rid of the title of the fish belly team and make the playoffs.
First up is Hall of Fame small forward Chris Mullin, who is still in good form as a member of the Dream Team. Crazy Sprewell is also getting better, and has been selected as an All-Star multiple times. Price also played a standard point guard performance of 16+7 the year before.
Joe Smith, who beat Kevin Garnett, Stackhouse, and Rasheed Wallace last year, exploded in physical fitness and was hailed as the second Sean Kemp.
Their coach is Rick Adelman, a head coach with a lot of tactical literacy. The team believes that under his leadership, this team will shine.
At the start of the game, O'Neal jumped the ball successfully. The Lakers focus on the interior, and with the Warriors' weak perimeter defense, Van Exel's can easily hoist the ball inside. O'Neal scored on an inside hook in back-to-back catches, and Joe Smith and Toddfler were completely unable to interfere with him.
The Warriors' offense is also somewhat stagnant, with most of the players playing alone, no one convincing anyone, and no teammates in their eyes. The lack of convincing between the old and new players, as well as the weak defence, made their performance on the pitch very poor.
At the end of the first quarter, the Lakers 28:17 Warriors. The big lead made the spectators on the sidelines addicted. Although it was only a preseason game, it was worth the ticket price to see the Lakers superstar perform.
"Kobe, warm up and get ready to play." Harris called out to Kobe.
Finally it was my turn, and Kobe Bryant had been itching on the sidelines for a long time.
Bryant led the Lakers' all-bench combination onto the court. Harlister deliberately arranged for the group to play at the same time, and he felt that they had a special chemistry.
"Oh, it's our talented rookie Kobe Bryant on the court." Magic Johnson was the guest commentator for the game, and he heard from West that he had selected a future cornerstone player, and he was looking forward to Kobe's performance.
"Guys, it's all tight!" Bryant was excited, and he knew that the Warriors didn't have a great second-team ball-handler.
The defense led by Kobe, Fisher, Bowen and Wallace is full of defensive pressure, and the young people have plenty of physical strength to press all over the court.
Kobe Bryant kept attacking the ball carrier, and the Warriors' second point guard, Bimbo Coles, was only 1.85 tall, and it was difficult to organize an effective offense under Kobe's strong confrontation.
Del Harris looked at the second team led by Kobe, continuously pressing the opponent's mistakes with high-intensity defense and counterattacking, and couldn't help but secretly say, "I don't seem to have told them to press all over the court, right... β
