Chapter 305: Answering Students' Questions Is the Professor's Duty!
"What are you asking for?" Snape narrowed.
"I've been researching how to improve a potion lately, and this question suddenly came to mind, so I'm curious." Ivan hesitated for a moment, then spoke.
"It seems that our great Mr. Hals thinks that his current level of potions has reached the point where he surpasses those Potions masters." Snape had a sarcastic look on his face.
Ivan's brow furrowed, but he didn't mean to be angry. "I've always felt that a lot of potion recipes were developed a century or more ago, and there's a lot of room for improvement in terms of efficacy."
"And if you don't try, how do you know it won't work? I think those Potions Masters might have thought the same way when I was my age. Ivan looked at him very seriously.
Snape's face was a little moved, and he watched Ivan be silent for a while, and then said stiffly. "No one thinks about such a stupid question, potions are not for the dead!"
Ivan did not give up, but continued. "And what if I want to improve the stability of a potion?"
"I think adding blackstone powder might do a good job, or how about valerian? I'm talking about potions like Polyjuice Potions. Ivan tried to come up with a few improvements.
"If you're going to improve a poison, blackstone powder is a good choice." Snape left a cold word, then walked past Ivan and headed for his office.
Ivan touched his chin and muttered to himself. "That means adding blackstone powder turns into poison, but maybe valerian will?"
Thinking of this, Ivan caught up with Snape in front of him again,
"Professor, are there any ingredients that make up the compound decoction that conflict with valerian? What are the ones that are related to the stability of potions...."
"You should think about these questions for yourself, not ask me! If you harass me like that, I'll have to deduct 10 points from Gryffindor!" ”
"It is the professor's job to answer students' questions... Professor Snape! ”
"If I'm not mistaken, it's a question in the textbook!"
......
Under a series of harassing inquiries, Ivan finally figured out most of the problems that could not be solved by checking the data, and had a general idea of the final improvement plan for the compound decoction, and all that was left was to boil it out and find a "guinea pig" to experiment.
Ivan thought of a plan in his mind as he walked towards the Potions classroom, where Hermione, holding her next class's books, was still waiting.
"Ivan, you just went to Professor Snape?" Hermione guessed that she had seen Ivan chasing Snape just after class.
"Well, I asked him some questions about potions." Ivan nodded, and at the same time sighed that Snape's level of potions was much higher than his!
It seems that Snape's Potions level is converted into a level, and I'm afraid it is not the sixth level he expected, but the seventh level!
Ivan didn't dwell on the subject, but urged Hermione to use the time turner, he wanted to finish the class quickly and then experiment with his own improvements.
So in the next Muggle studies class, Ivan seemed a little absent-minded, except for standing up for the first time to answer questions and brush up on grade points, the rest of the time was spent on a piece of parchment, wondering if he had missed anything.
Hermione watched silently, occasionally whispering to Ivan about the medicinal properties of several potion materials.
Ivan has also been impressed by Hermione these days, the little witch is simply a living encyclopedia, as long as it is a regular question, Hermione can basically answer it, which greatly saves him time to find information.
However, on some of the key issues of the improvement plan, Hermione could not provide much help,
The only book she'd ever read about potion improvements was the one left behind by the Half-Blood Prince, Advanced Potions Making.
"By the way, Ivan, do you know who that half-blood prince is?" Hermione asked curiously.
When she first read the book, she had a rather bad impression of the half-blood prince, because the book was full of scribbles, which was a little unacceptable to Hermione, who cherished books.
Not to mention that the half-blood prince arrogantly revised the content of the book on potion making and refuted some of the theories in the book.
However, in view of her trust in Ivan, Hermione still tried it herself, only to find that the effect of brewing potions with the method taught by the half-blood prince was much higher than the original!
This made Hermione curious about the half-blood prince.
"You should be able to guess if you think about it," Ivan said, glancing at Hermione.
Hermione frowned and muttered for a moment, since Ivan said so, it proved that the half-blood prince was most likely someone she knew, and he had extraordinary achievements in potions.
In her impression, there are only two people who are eligible.
One is Ivan himself, but judging by the age of that "Advanced Potions Making", it should be unlikely, and the other is....
"You mean Snape?! He's the half-blood prince? Hermione was surprised, her pretty brown eyes glaring at the boss.
"Yes!" Ivan nodded, and he knew Hermione was smart enough to guess. "So don't mess with the spells you learned from it, or Brigadier Snape will get you in trouble!"
Hermione stuck out her tongue, and even if Ivan didn't say it, she wouldn't dare to use it casually.
The spell called Bladeless is so lethal that it can easily cut through wooden tables and chairs with a flick of a wand, which shows what kind of results it will be on people.
It was the first time Hermione had seen a spell so penetrating.
Then the little witch suddenly thought of something, and asked with a strange look. "So last school year you cast the Shadowless Spell in Lockhart's office?"
"He wanted to use the Oblivion Charm on me, so I had to warn him a little!" Ivan then spoke.
Hermione gave Ivan a blank look, which meant that Ivan had known that Lockhart was a liar, but he looked at her stupidly adoring Lockhart...
"Mr. Hals, and Miss Granger! If you have anything to whisper, I suggest you do so at the end of class..."
Just as Hermione was about to say something, Professor Carreddy Bubbaghy's voice came from the stage.
The little wizards around him also looked at it together, Ivan continued to write and draw on the parchment with the same face, Hermione's face was slightly red, and she turned around and honestly flipped through the textbook...
