Chapter 587: Goblet of Fire
Hermione's remarks didn't shatter Ron's illusions, and he still stubbornly believed that Fleur might have some kind of affection for him.
In the middle of the feast, the door to the Great Hall was opened again, and two wizards in suits walked in from outside.
They made their way to the high platform, shook Dumbledore's hand, and sat down in the teacher's chair without much attention.
But Ivan was apparently excepted, and kept staring at the two of them as they entered.
"Mr. Bagman and Mr. Crouch, what are they doing here?" Harry also glanced strangely over there.
"Which of them is Crouch?" Ivan asked.
He remembered that in the original time and space, Barty Crouch was controlled by the Imperius Curse released by Voldemort himself, and now that there are no clues, Crouch may be a good breakthrough!
"The tall, skinny, gray-haired one is Crouch, and the other one is Ludo Bagman!"
It wasn't Harry who explained to Ivan, it was Ron, and he finally looked away from Fleur, presumably because Fleur hadn't responded to his affectionate gaze for so long.
Ivan nodded, and looked back at the teacher's chair, where Crouch was sitting next to Dumbledore and talking happily with the old professor, barely showing anything unusual on the surface.
However, Ivan knew that the Imperius Curse could manipulate a wizard almost perfectly, so that his words and actions were no different from his usual behavior.
And there are only two flaws in this magic!
First, you will be noticed by the clever Master of Regent Mindfulness, and as long as you search the other person's memory, you will be able to find something wrong.
The second is that wizards with strong willpower can break free from the spell on their own, such as Barty Crouch and his son in the original plane, and they managed to do this!
The reason why I can understand it so comprehensively is because when Ivan was in Tumbledown Alley, he had studied the Imperius Curse for a period of time in order to control Nott.
The first flaw is not solvable in Ivan's opinion, but fortunately, the number of Guardians and Wizards is scarce, as long as they control the Nott Mansion to reduce going out at home.
In order to prevent Nott from escaping, Ivan arranged for two werewolf wizards to keep an eye on him at all times, and regularly reinforced the Imperius Curse in Nott's place.
Thinking like this, Ivan quickly made another mistake, although he suspected that Crouch was an undercover agent who was controlled by Voldemort, but he did not have enough evidence to prove the other party.
You must know that Crouch is the Minister of International Magical Exchange and Cooperation, a high-ranking position, and he is still known for his integrity, and Dumbledore has a high degree of trust in him.
And with his own butterfly, the real Moody has appeared at the school, and it is unknown whether Crouch is controlled by Voldemort like the original plane...... It's no joke to get it wrong!
The power of the Imperius Curse is that Voldemort has the potential to control anyone in this school!
The only solution was for Dumbledore to read everyone's memories in the Great Hall with the Regent Mind and tell which were normal and which were controlled undercover.
It's just that according to the character of the old professor, it is obviously impossible to do this unless it is absolutely necessary......
Ivan was a little tempted to tell for himself, but his dementorship was nowhere near that level!
He estimated that he would have to raise the Deception to at least level 6 before he could rely on the Divine Mind to probe most people's minds without knowing it.
Just as Ivan was thinking, Dumbledore, who had spoken a few words to Crouch, had already stood up and walked to the front of the stage again.
"Guys, I think you're well fed, aren't you?" Dumbledore's loud voice echoed through the Great Hall.
The young wizards present put down their knives and forks, and although some of the foodies wanted to continue enjoying the food, they were even more looking forward to what Dumbledore would say next.
"Looks like it's time!" Dumbledore took everyone's expressions in his eyes as he flicked his wand again, and the messy table returned to its original neat appearance.
Dumbledore continued. "Now I'm going to talk about the arrangements for the Triwizard Tournament!"
Hearing the old professor mention the Triwizard Tournament, everyone sat upright, and a feeling of excitement and nervousness gradually spread in the auditorium.
Dumbledore changed his voice and pointed to Crouch on his right, and said something introductory. "Allow me to introduce you to two new guests, who are probably unknown to you, this is Mr. Barty Crouch, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Magic!"
Crouch nodded to the crowd, and the auditorium erupted in sparse applause.
Dumbledore went on to introduce Ludo Bagman on the left, and thanked the two for their tireless efforts over the past few months to reopen the Triwizard Tournament.
"Together with me, Professor Karkaroff and Ms. Maxim, they will form a five-member panel of judges to judge the Warriors' performance."
Dumbledore spoke, clapping his hands again for Filch to pick up the box.
"What box?" Harry asked curiously, lowering his voice.
Ivan knew what was going on, but he still looked over to Filch.
Perhaps in order to participate in this important occasion, Filch, who is usually unkempt, also tidied up, at least put on a new robe, and was holding a large wooden box inlaid with jewels in both hands, with a solemn expression, as if holding some noble holy relic.
The little wizards craned their necks curiously, trying to see better.
Dumbledore continued. "Each of the events in this year's Triwizard Tournament has been carefully vetted by us, and it is divided into three categories, which will examine the warriors' abilities from various aspects, such as their magical talents, whether they have extraordinary courage, and careful reasoning skills......
At the end of each event, the judges will give them a rating based on their performance, and the points earned from the three competitions will be added up to win the Triwizard Cup! As for the selection process for the Warriors......"
While Dumbledore was speaking, Filch had already walked to the high platform and carefully placed the box on the table in front of him.
Dumbledore pulled out his wand and tapped the lid of the box three times, and the box slowly opened, revealing a roughly carved wooden goblet to everyone.
Dumbledore pointed his wand at it, looked at the crowd, and spoke word by word. "The selection process for the Warriors will be conducted by the most impartial selector, and it will be...... Goblet of Fire! ”
As Dumbledore spoke, a large amount of blue-white flames erupted from the mouth of the cup......
