Volume One Hundred and Twelve: Comrade-in-Arms Konishi

I'm not the only one in the entire West District, so many times the location of the library study room is not very rich, especially at four or five o'clock in the afternoon, if we have classes, then there will be basically no place when we go to the library. Fortunately, I'm still lucky, in addition to the good timing of the classes I chose, I also have a comrade-in-arms who will go to the battlefield of the graduate school entrance examination together in the future: Konishi-sama.

Konishi, who comes from a further south than me, shares a dormitory with Sister Shishi, and has been a regular visitor to the library study room since her junior year. Since our student numbers are relatively close, we will get closer to each other in every class activity and exam, and we have become good friends over time. Every time at the end of the semester, she would go to the study room early with Ah Zhen, who was sleeping with her, and even queue up with others at the door before the library opened.

"Occupying a seat" is a skill that every student must master, at least for me. Not only must you have agile skills, tacit team, but also have a thick skin. This kind of behavior was first in the cafeteria of junior high school, and it was promoted in high school, and even more so in college. I still remember that in the second year of high school, we had not yet obtained the unique "priority to eat" in the third year of high school, and we needed to go to the cafeteria with the first year of high school. At lunchtime, as soon as the bell rang, the boys in our class began to rush to the cafeteria. Everyone has a clear division of labor, and as soon as they enter the canteen gate, they are automatically assigned to a "combat group", with one person occupying a seat and the others queuing up to eat. If you don't have a team, you'll have to wait for a seat to become available, or share a table with someone else. In many cases, these leftovers, or vacant spaces, either have clean food scraps or are sprinkled with soup (most of them are left by the senior party who has the "right to eat", and the canteen staff have no time to clean up).

When they go to college, many students will throw their bags or textbooks directly on the dining table in the cafeteria, which is considered to be a place to be divided, and then go to eat. Although this kind of "seat occupancy" behavior is somewhat contrary to public order and good customs, I think it is also a helpless move. And it seems that the school also thinks that the most important task of students is to study, and this little thing is harmless.

However, it is more necessary to be cheeky when occupying a seat in the study room, because self-study is not a meal, it can be done in ten minutes, and so there will be vacant seats. Many people often sit in the study room for several hours, so there will be certain requirements for the lighting and ventilation of the location, the distance from the heating, and whether the aisle is unobstructed. Many "rookies" will take a book and put it in their seats, and then go to class or do something else, and when they come back, they find that their "territory" has long been occupied by others, and the book has been ruthlessly placed in the corner. Therefore, if you want to occupy a good place in the library study room, it is absolutely impossible to do without "taking friends".

In fact, at the beginning, the school had a paid independent study room, and the price was very low, and it seemed that it was specially prepared for students who were preparing for graduate school. Each seat is separated by a baffle to form a small independent space, and students will not be affected by each other. But I don't know why all of them were canceled when our students needed them, and then the public study room was opened to us. At first, the school didn't manage much, but it set the opening and closing times. Many people pile up study materials, stationery, and even cushions, drinking glasses and other daily necessities in the study room as a tool to occupy a seat, and go to their "special seat" with peace of mind the next day. As the phenomenon of "occupying seats" became more and more serious, some students began to report to the above that there was no place in the study room, so the school issued a rule to clean the study room before closing every night, and then we had to rush into the library every day when the door first opened to grab space.

Konishi also decided to take the road of graduate school entrance examination, so the two of us added another "comradeship" to the "friendship". Konishi's goal is very clear, that is, to return to the south, and chose a relatively difficult professional master's degree. And she has indeed been working in this direction, and since the end of the summer vacation, she has officially sacrificed all entertainment and leisure, except for classes, she goes to the library for self-study, and does not return to bed until the library closes. We usually exchange the latest information on graduate school entrance examinations, share learning materials on English and politics, and often encourage each other.

The comfortable environment of the library study room is great for studying, but it can also be drowsy. Especially when I just finished eating, I accidentally became a "very poor student", and Konishi was no exception. Although she also prepared a national treasure-level refreshment of "Wind Oil Essence", she always couldn't resist the temptation of "sleepiness". Sometimes I often see her performing "Chicken Peck Rice" when she was reading books carefully, and she completely lost her consciousness of resistance the moment she touched the textbook. It reminds me of an interesting incident from my junior high school days.

At that time, I was the squad leader, and I was at the same table as the secretary of the Youth League branch of our class. Spring is sleepy and autumn is tired, and every time the class reaches the afternoon, we both start to feel sleepy. As two important "leading cadres" in the class, they must do a good job as "vanguard and exemplary", how can they take the lead in sleeping? So we agreed to slap each other, and if anyone started to get confused in class, the other party would slap him. At first, neither of us moved very much, just a gentle pat, just as a reminder. But then both of our bodies seemed to get used to this kind of reminder, and instead became more hypnotic. The secretary of the Youth League discussed with me and asked me to deal with him harshly, and after repeatedly confirming with him, I finally made up my mind.

One happened to be the homeroom teacher's Chinese class, and the afternoon of early autumn made people extremely tired, and the trees on the campus were still struggling. The teacher was analyzing the text to us on the podium, and the secretary of the Youth League on the side had begun to lose consciousness. Seeing that he was about to fall asleep, I raised my right hand and slapped his left cheek hard...... and there was a loud "pop", and the whole classroom woke up, as if the acquaintances on the trees outside the window were silent, and the world fell into a brief silence. Everyone's eyes are on us, including our homeroom teacher. The secretary of the Youth League was completely awake in an instant, rubbed his slightly red and swollen cheeks, cheered up and looked up at the blackboard to continue listening to the class. However, the other students looked confused, and even the head teacher was a little confused. He thought that the two of us might be disrupting the classroom discipline, but after all, they were the class leader and the secretary of the league, so they couldn't make us look ugly in public, and after giving a "pay attention next time" look, he began to continue the lecture. Of course, my right cheek was also "reminded" by the secretary of the Youth League.

Konishi-san also asked me to remind her when she was sleepy, and even allowed me to use "force". But she is a girl after all, and I will definitely not be able to do it, so I can only gently pat her arm to make her sober and sober, and then continue to read her book. In fact, until the end of the graduate school entrance examination, it was Konishi-chan who continued to help me. Because I don't have a specific revision plan, and I still have to take the driver's license test after all, my energy is often distracted, and I can't always stay in the study hall. Konishi has been silently helping me occupy a seat, sorting out materials, sharing information with me in a timely manner, and even helping me pour hot water without any complaints. I'm ashamed to say it, I don't seem to have even invited her to drink a cup of milk tea, but fortunately, in the end, good people will be rewarded.
