Volume One Hundred and Fourteen Teaching Practices
Finally, after completing the internship report, the teachers immediately asked us to start teaching practice, asking everyone to give a lecture for about ten minutes and "threatening each other" with their final grades. Under the teacher's "obscenity", we had to start preparing seriously. After all, we don't have a teaching certificate, so the teacher won't let us teach in a real classroom, let alone teach foreigners, but just let us do a recess and then conduct a mock teaching in front of the teacher. Even so, we still find it quite a challenge.
First of all, this time, the teacher did not delineate the scope for us, but only pointed out a direction: teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Secondly, theoretically, the target of our classes this time is foreign students, and in fact, our professional course teachers. We can still be fooled in front of international friends, and they will not refute anything, but in front of professional teachers, we can't tolerate the slightest sloppiness.
The girls are still very concerned about this matter, and after getting the teacher's instructions, they immediately began to choose topics and make courseware, some are ready to teach pronunciation, some are ready to teach idioms, and some are ready to teach daily conversations. Some female students even went to the School of International Exchange to find international students to conduct classroom simulations and learn about the needs of "end users". In contrast, we boys seem to be a little at a loss, and there seems to be no better way than Baidu. And the teacher didn't give us much time, so I gradually became an ant on a hot pot. As the pressure grew, I lost the interest of going to self-study, but fortunately, I finally passed the exam in nine items, which made me have an extra worry, so after saying hello to Konishi, I prepared for class in the dormitory.
However, as soon as I turned on the computer, I had no ideas in my head, and I flipped through the teaching cases in the textbook, but I still had no idea. It's a waste of time anyway, so I simply chased after "One Piece", which had many episodes down, hoping to explode in inspiration. However, it didn't do much other than kill time, and it made me more impatient. Inadvertently, I caught a glimpse of the "Famous Commentaries on the Tao Te Ching" on the shelf, and thought to myself, why don't I preach the "Tao", traditional culture is also one of our teaching contents!
So I started collecting materials and preparing lesson plans. Since it is for foreigners, it is necessary to stand on their point of thinking. If you directly move out the Tao Te Ching, let alone foreigners, even Chinese will fall asleep listening to it. "Dao" can be understood as the road, the truth, the law, the law...... In English, "way" may be more appropriate, but each nation has its own culture, so how can we make this "way" more understandable?
Just as I was thinking, Lao Zhao next door was watching "Naruto" while snorting bubble noodles, and Naruto's familiar Japanese lines suddenly woke me up: Dao, in "Naruto" it is "ninja" and "chakra", in "One Piece" it is "justice" and "domineering", and in "Dragon Ball" it is "martial arts" and "qi", maybe it can resonate with "foreigners" in the form of anime cartoons. With this idea, I immediately came to the spirit, opened the PPT and planned to make courseware. But soon, I gave up. Because it suddenly occurred to me that our professional teacher was not a foreign student in his twenties, but a middle-aged or elderly man in his forties and fifties...... In his cognition, ninjas are not those assassins who fly around on the rooftops in night clothes, pirates are not some sea robbers who kill people and overhaul goods, and Monkey King is not the monkey who goes to the west with a golden rod to learn scriptures. If I really talk about this in class, then the teacher must be thinking: What is this TM talking about?
The little train of thought I had just had was cut off by me, and the whole person fell into impatience again. I asked the other people in the dormitory, and they showed a strange calmness, playing games, watching TVB, watching TVB, killing the Three Kingdoms, watching variety shows, as if they didn't want to prepare for class. Although their student number is behind me, they are not so calm. After careful questioning, I realized that their plan was to revise the cases in the textbook, because there was nothing to talk about in ten minutes, and it was enough to taste it, not to mention that there were so many people in the major, how could the teacher take care of it.
Their words woke me up, and yes, I forgot about the time limit. We are not really in class, but through this kind of teaching practice, the teacher has a psychological prediction of our teaching level, to put it bluntly, it is actually just an exam, I take it too seriously.
After thinking about it, my mood calmed down a bit, looking at the words "click here to add a title" on the blank PPT in front of the screen, another inspiration came to my mind, and the corners of my mouth rose slightly.
The day of the assessment came soon, and because my student number was high, I was placed in the first batch. I saved the PPT again, unplugged the USB flash drive after copying, and then walked out of the bedroom door. According to what I did with the girls beforehand, there is no one who has overlapped with my teaching content yet, so I have a good chance that I will be able to impress the teacher.
Originally, the teacher planned to let us do the simulation in the classroom, but because there was no spare multi-purpose classroom, we had to do it in the teacher's office, and there was no feeling of "preaching and solving doubts on the three-foot podium".
By the time I arrived, the girls were already waiting in the office, and when everyone arrived, our assessment began
The waiting process was long and painful, and the closer I got to my student number, the more nervous I felt, and cold sweat broke out in my palms from time to time, for fear that some of them would agree with me. Fortunately, as I learned in advance, the students in front of me are talking about pronunciation, idioms, and daily conversations, which are basically common cases in the textbooks.
Finally it was my turn, as the first boy to be assessed, the teacher was quite big about my expiration. I skillfully copied the courseware from the USB flash drive to the teacher's computer desktop, and then double-clicked to open it.
"Hello teacher, today I want to talk about Chinese characters. The purpose of this lesson is to enable students to become proficient in the writing of the Chinese character '永'. ”
That's right, this time I'm going to be on the edge again, combining calligraphy lessons with Chinese character lessons. I downloaded a calligraphy version of the character "Yong" on the Internet, and then cut out and split each stroke with PS, and then displayed it in writing order through the animation effect of PPT. I first talked about the pronunciation of "Yong", and then extended the "Yongzi Eight Methods", and then began to show off my "Super Nirvana· PPT technology". With the click of the mouse, dots, horizontal hooks, horizontal skimming, skimming...... The four strokes are displayed on the screen as if they were written. I saw that the smile on the teacher's face was getting more and more obvious, and I felt that this was the right "bet" again! It's just that the last stroke is not shown to the right, which makes it a little different from the way we usually write. Under the teacher's doubts, I threw the blame to Microsoft. During the review, the teacher affirmed my teaching method, and even asked me to demonstrate the process of making PPT to him, and it seems that he also plans to use this trick to try it at the School of International Exchange.
I don't know if it's because the teachers have given me special care, or because my teaching methods are really practical, but with teaching internships and practices, I can fantasize about scholarships again!
