Chapter 597: A Crack in Friendship
Is Ron uncomfortable somewhere? When I was in the Great Hall, I saw that something wasn't quite right with his face......" Harry asked worriedly.
Hermione didn't answer, just told the two of them to go back to the bedroom to rest, it was better to ignore Ron for now, he would figure it out after a night's sleep.
Harry was confused, unable to figure out what was going on.
Ivan had sensed something in Hermione's attitude, but he didn't care, he had so many things to think about lately that he really didn't have time to pay attention to Ron.
After saying goodbye to Hermione, the two made their way back to the dormitory.
Pushing open the door, Harry saw Ron lying on the bed with his back to them, covering his head with a pillow.
Ron was the only one in the entire dorm, and Neville was still in the break room and didn't come back.
"Ron, are you alright?" Harry felt something strange and stepped forward and shook him.
"I'm fine, Harry! It's just a little uncomfortable, so I don't have time to celebrate you......" Ron pulled the pillow away from his head and pulled out a smile that looked reluctant.
"Celebrate, celebrate what?" Harry frowned, sensing that something wasn't quite right with Ron.
"Of course, it's a celebration of you all becoming warriors!" Ron sat up, his tone a little heavy, he looked at Ivan and then at Harry, and asked.
"Ivan was chosen by taking out the Goblet of Fire and putting his name in it, but what about you? Harry? And how did you do it, with the Cloak of Invisibility? β
"Ron! Do you think I put my name in that goblet as much as they do? Harry laughed angrily, gasping and explaining in exasperation. I made it very clear when I was in the auditorium, I didn't do that! And I've been with you for the past two days, and you know I didn't have that chance! β
Ron didn't pay attention to Harry's explanation, but speculated on his own.
"Not during the day, but what about when you go to bed at night? Ivan went in the second half of the night, you could be the first half of the night? Or did you just go together? β
"You all have a way to become a warrior, but I'm a little bit worse than that, and I can't think of a way... I don't blame you, really! But you should at least tell me, so I can prepare to celebrate you in advance......"
At this point, Ron's expression became a little depressed, and his voice grew lower and lower, until finally it was so small that it was not easy to hear at all.
"Don't be stupid, Ron, why do you think that? Didn't Hermione tell you? This Triwizard Tournament was most likely Voldemort's conspiracy, and he must have wanted me to die in that match! Remember that dream? I told you that! Harry was furious.
He thought that Ron, as one of his best friends, would support and believe in him like Ivan and Hermione, but he didn't expect Ron to doubt himself.
"Ahh Mystery manβ" Ron looked a little shaken, but under the control of jealousy in his heart, he still insisted on his idea, and quickly found a hole in Harry's words, and the questioning voice was like a cannon.
"But why did he do that? The mystery man is not in the school, how can he guarantee that you will be chosen? And Professor Dumbledore was all there during the game, and no one dared to do anything to you...... Or is the mystery man just trying to see you win? β
"Are you crazy? Now that someone is going to put me to death, you are still wondering if you don't believe it until Voldemort kills me? Harry thought Ron was unreasonable.
"That's right! I'm crazy! I thought we were best friends! The result? Each of you has a way to break through that line, but you keep hiding it from me and leaving me aside, knowing that I want to be a warrior too! Ron shouted, jealousy eating away at his sanity.
Ron couldn't help but think of the words that Ivan had asked him about last night, and he was even more sure of his thoughts.
He thought that Ivan must need a qualified helper in order to ensure victory in the Triwizard Tournament, so he approached him first and asked his opinion on the side.
After learning that he insisted on playing fair with everyone, Ivan decided that it would be a threat to him to win the championship, so he chose Harry!
The more Ron thought about it, the more he felt that it was possible, and he unreservedly told his guess.
Harry was choked up, he didn't expect Ron to have such a vicious idea.
"I have to say, your imagination is rich, Ron... You should be going to write a storybook! Ivan was also very speechless.
"But I guessed right, wasn't I?" Ron asked nonrelentingly.
"I'll say something you don't like to hear, Ron! I've never seen Krum and Fleur as a threat... From the moment I competed, there was no suspense about the outcome of the Top 3 Cup. Ivan was a little annoyed by Ron's endless questioning, and after a pause, he continued to speak, without any mercy.
"And you're thinking too highly of yourself! Your magic level won't help me at all, and I told you that last night just out of curiosity. β
Ron's face flushed, and his fist under the covers clenched and released.
What he hated the most was Ivan's self-esteem and indifferent to everything.
Whether it was the honor he wanted in his heart, or the person he admired and liked, Ivan disdained it, as if it was something that was at his fingertips.
The more he came into contact with Ivan, the more awkward Ron became, feeling that he was as small as dust in the soil, without the slightest sense of existence.
Even if he brags a few words about his adventures with others on weekdays, he will be considered to be just lucky to follow Ivan and Harry with a little light!
"Yes, you're our Gryffindor hero, and you don't need anyone's help!" The more Ron thought about it, the more angry he became, and as he slammed the curtain over his four-poster bed, he put his head under the covers.
Ron's attitude angered Harry, and he took two steps forward to pull Ron out of the covers and make it clear.
Ivan next to him stopped him in time.
"Forget it, Harry, let Ron think about it himself!" Ivan shook his head at Harry.
Combined with what happened on the original plane, Ivan could probably understand why Ron suddenly became like this.
To put it bluntly, his life experience over the years has cultivated his overly sensitive and excessively inferior temperament, and Ron always compares Harry as the savior, so it is inevitable that he will be mentally unbalanced.
Not choosing the Warriors is just a flashpoint, releasing the emotions that have been pent up in normal times.
But this is obviously not a reason for others to get used to him......
