Chapter 128: The Church

After surveying the bookcase-filled room, López didn't linger too long, and soon got up again and explored the depths of the church.

Dried blood and stiff corpses were everywhere.

The further you go inside, the more deteriorating the surrounding buildings become, and it seems that from here, the priests' resistance begins to grow fiercer.

After a while, López saw a faint light in the distance, but it was also quite glaring in an environment that could barely move forward on the basis of moonlight.

That faint light directly became López's guiding light, and seriously, if he couldn't find his destination, he would have to sit down and think about whether he was lost.

With the light guiding him, López finally found the place where the light was, but the sad news arrived before his eyes at the same time, and the passage to the room was completely and completely destroyed.

Of course, even that didn't stop the faint light from running out through the cracks to play happily, and the same was true for López, but he had to talk to the massive wreckage that was taller than a human first.

He first hugged one of the broken walls with a slight force, but soon gave up decisively, it seems that it is better to negotiate with the moist soil under his feet.

Smiling helplessly, López leaned down with his sword and began to dig around a relatively stable ruin.

Perhaps, the sword's job was to dig up the earth, and if the old blacksmith was not prepared to kill him, he would be happy to admit it.

From late evening to midnight, López finally dug through this passage for one person to communicate, although the actual experience seems to be a bit narrow.

If it hadn't been for the collapse at the previous location, he would have come in a long time ago, and with a hard grip on the floor, López pulled out the lower half of his body stuck in the passage.

After getting up, López patted the dirt on his body, and then began to turn his head and look around.

From the outside, it looks like the whole house has collapsed, but from the inside, it looks like someone has used magic to knock down the east wall, and the south and north walls fall outward one after another, and only the west wall is left struggling to support it.

However, because of this, the roof forms a solid triangle with the remaining west wall, which gives it a small space inside.

Gently retracting his sword from its scabbard, López began to wander around the small space, but he didn't think there would be any valuable clues in the ruins.

As he walked, López suddenly found the body of an arrow piercing his shoulder behind a boulder in the corner, something he might have been frightened by if he hadn't fought in the war.

Thinking like this, he slowly stepped forward, groping for a while on which corpse, trying to find something out, but found that the corpse still had a faint breath.

It was a gratifying discovery.

And he quickly took out the bandage from the bag he was carrying with him to see if he could save him.

However, the limit of López's efforts is to help him pull the arrow off, and then put a bandage on him to stop the bleeding, after all, he is not a doctor.

When these procedures were completed, López sat down and prepared to sleep, but at that moment, the corpse next to him suddenly opened his eyes.

The corpse looked down at the bandage on his shoulder, then at the broken arrow on the ground, and then turned to López: "The Lord will bless you, good boy." ”

For some reason, López suddenly remembered Fadra's voice, and he took a magic stick in one mouthful.

Shaking his head helplessly, driving Fadra's voice out of his mind, López quickly replied, "May I ask what happened here?"

After hearing this, the old man sighed: "It's a long story. ”

"Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Abel and I am a first-class pastor in the town of Davos. ”

Lopez nodded, and also introduced himself: "Hello, Pastor Abel, my name is Lopez, and I am a mercenary who received a bounty mission. ”

"It's late enough, if memory serves, it's been three or four months since this mission was released, but thankfully you didn't come. A kind smile spread across Abel's face.

He then opened his mouth to narrate to López: "Two months ago, after the vote led by Siris to expand the town was passed, they began to renovate the abandoned pasture on the west side of the town. ”

"However, while digging the foundations, I came across the ruins of an ancient city, and when I went to investigate, I found that there was a very powerful force in it, and on this ground, I wanted them to stop the project, but Sirreth did not listen to my advice, and he thought that the ruins of the ancient city would bring more visibility to the town of Davos, and more travelers. ”

"Despite all my obstructions, he insisted on developing it, and finally, in the gap where I had to return to the church on business, he sent some villagers down to explore, without my knowledge at the time. ”

"But the villagers never came back, and Siris panicked and came to me for help. ”

"In order to save the villagers, I had to lead some priests to the ruins of the ancient city. ”

"At first, it wasn't too weird, but as I walked, a beautiful flower suddenly appeared on the side of the road, and you should have seen it already, López. ”

"From then on, weird things started happening. ”

"We first saw the villagers lying on the ground, and I was about to go up to check on them, but the villagers suddenly got up and rushed straight at the pastor who was walking in the front, and they began to bite the priest continuously. ”

"I had no choice but to exterminate the villagers who had gone crazy. ”

"But because of this sudden incident, I became more aware of the danger of this site. ”

So I led the priests to retreat, and as I was leaving, I picked two flowers from the ruins, and prepared to come back and study. ”

"When I got back to the ground, I told him all about the situation inside, and asked him to seal off the ruins, for fear that he wouldn't believe it, and I showed him one of the flowers, and after Siris took the flowers, he readily agreed, I thought he was frightened by strange things, so I didn't think so much. ”

"When I got back to church, I started studying the flower. ”

"What I didn't expect was that Silreis hadn't given up yet, he had organized a group of villagers to come to the church and try to rob me of the flower. ”

"My dear children, even I, did not expect them to be so devastated. ”

"It was too late to really organize a revolt. ”

"Finally, I met you in this mess, López. ”

"Why did he go to such lengths to snatch your flower, didn't you give him one earlier?" asked López, puzzled.

Able shook his head, indicating that he didn't know.
