Chapter 79: Attack on Filch
The two of them returned to the castle the same way, and as soon as they reached the third floor, George and Fred prepared to take a shortcut back to the Gryffindor common room.
Before coming out of the secret passage, the two had already determined the next route, and repeatedly confirmed the number one "enemy" of the overnight tour, and were still resting in their rooms.
"Ahh......h
Seeing that George wanted to sneeze, Fred quickly reached out and covered George's mouth to avoid making too much noise.
"It's fine, it's just that my nose is a little itchy. George reached out and rubbed his nose and yawned again, and he began to miss his soft bed
"Maybe it's a cold!" Fred looked at his twin brother sympathetically, "Go back!"
The two of them walked up the stairs to the fifth floor, preparing to go directly to the eighth floor through a secret passage here.
"Meow. ”
A strange cat meow.
Fred's movements froze in place, and he raised his wand to probe forward, and a dark shadow came out of the corner, and the two of them looked intently to see that it was Filch's Lady Loris.
The cat turned and ran away when he saw the two.
Fred and George looked at each other and suddenly laughed happily, they both knew what the cat was doing, and Filch would soon be all over the castle looking for their whereabouts.
Fred and George, however, didn't care, for they had already returned to the break room.
The thought of Filch getting up in the middle of the night to toss around with a cold made Fred and George very happy.
"Let's go, I want to go back to bed early. George yawned frequently.
The two of them reached the eighth floor through the secret passage on the fifth floor, and walked through the dark and silent Gryffindor corridor to the portrait of the fat lady.
However, the painting in front of the two of them was empty, and their originally happy mood suddenly fell into a trough.
The fat lady went out late at night.
At this moment, both Fred and George realized that they were locked outside the Gryffindor common room.
"What should I do?" Fred's face was not very good-looking, they didn't know when the fat lady would be back, and Filch was already up, and he and his cat were on their way to the fifth floor.
The guy took a shortcut through the secret passage, and the speed was faster than the two expected.
"Albert is really a crow's mouth. George said helplessly, "I don't want to spend the night here at all, I'm sure I'm going to catch a cold, why don't I find a place to rest first?"
Looking for a place to rest?
It is undoubtedly more appropriate to continue the night tour than to risk a possible collision with Filch, find a place to stay, and wait for the fat lady to return.
Where is the right place to stay?
The answer is a secret passage.
There were a few secret passages on the eighth floor, but Fred wasn't sure Filch knew about them, and through the map of the living spots, both of them saw that Filch had reached the fifth floor through the secret passages and began to search for the students on the night tour.
"Let Filch find it!" George pouted.
"Be careful, lest the boat capsize. Fred reminded.
He didn't want to be caught by Filch at all, and once he was caught, it would definitely not end well.
Not only do you have to deal with Filch's nasty face, but you also have to face Professor McGonagall, Percy, and after being deducted a lot of points, the Gryffindor students won't give them a good look.
Now, one can only hope that Filch will give up the search sooner, and the fat lady will come back sooner.
On the fifth floor, in the hallway of portraits, Filch is patrolling with an oil lamp. He's in a terrible mood right now, he accidentally caught a cold today, his head is still a little dizzy, and he can't rest well for a night.
No, no, or nothing.
Filch swept through the abandoned classroom with an oil lamp, pricking up his ears to carefully distinguish the sounds around him. His pet Lady Loris is also helping to search for a target, but still hasn't caught the students on the night tour, and hasn't even heard anything else?
"Ran away?" Filch muttered, "No, it can't be!"
From the time Lady Loris's alarm sounded to the time it didn't take him a few minutes to get here, those pesky imps couldn't have run so fast.
"They can't go far, I'm going to catch them!" Filch thought to himself that no one knew all the secret passages of Hogwarts Castle better than him, and no one could escape from his hands.
However, Filch didn't know that his actions had completely fallen into the eyes of the twins. They stared at the ink dots on the map that symbolized Filch, as it moved through the castle floors through secret passages, and as Lady Loriss separated from Filch in search of their whereabouts.
"Filch is really familiar with the secret passages of the castle, and it will be difficult for the average student on a night tour not to be caught by him. George sighed.
"Now is not the time to sigh about this, we can't stay here, Filch may know about this secret passage, we have to find a place where Filch doesn't know to hide. Fred immediately realized that they were in a bad situation.
"Why don't you go and see if the fat lady is back. George suggested that if he could get into the break room, he wouldn't have to worry about Filch.
"Go check it out. Fred agreed.
They left the secret passage again and came to the portrait of the Fat Lady at the end of the Gryffindor Corridor, but the result was still disappointing, the Fat Lady still hadn't returned.
"We have to go, if Filch searches the eighth floor, we won't be able to dodge, go to the passage of the knight's armor on the seventh floor, I don't think Filch will know that passage, as long as he hides somewhere, Filch will definitely not find us. ”
However, there is Lady Loris patrolling the seventh floor, and if you are not careful, you may be caught.
The two of them planned to go to other floors through the secret passage carved by the sphin-like eagle-headed beast on the eighth floor, but found that Filch was actually walking along this secret passage towards the eighth floor.
"Run!" Fred shouted in a low voice, and hurriedly quickened his pace, and by the time the two of them had reached the seventh floor, Filch had already come out of the griffin's carving, and immediately heard the sound of running.
"I've found you, don't try to slip away!" muttered Filch, who took the oil lamp and walked towards the seventh floor, where Lady Loris ran to meet him, and led the way in front of him, leading him to the fellow who had wandered the castle at night.
"No, Filch is coming this way!" Fred didn't try to open the knight's armor statue, as Filch was moving fast.
If the passage is not closed in time, it is likely to be discovered by Filch.
This is definitely not a scene that the twins want to see, and besides, they have a map of the living spots, so they can go around the castle with Filch.
Caught?
Can you see the opponent's movements clearly through the live point map, and can you still be caught?
Inexistent.
At this moment, George sneezed suddenly, and the voice sounded in the hallway, which immediately caught Filch's attention.
"Hurry up, Filch is coming this way. Fred looked at George speechlessly, and hurriedly urged.
"What now?" said George, hurrying to follow.
"What else can I do?" Fred said with a helpless shrug, "He chases, we run." ”
A game of cat and mouse has officially begun.
