Chapter 418: Poor Harry
Why? What about Professor Lupin? Harry asked in a very sharp tone.
"He's been unwell these days, and he can't teach you lessons," Snape explained, then sneered. And also... Potter, you'd better figure it out, he's begging me to help with the substitute teaching these days! β
Harry didn't believe a word!
Everyone in the school knew that Tip had always wanted to be the professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, and he had always been at odds with Lupin.
For example, Neville once dressed Snape, who had become Boggart, in Lupin's class, and won Lupin's admiration.
Harry thought that Snape might hold a grudge and murder Professor Lupin while Dumbledore was away at school, so he insisted that Snape tell him what was going on with Professor Lupin.
"I'll just say it once, he's still alive and well, and his life is not in danger!" Snape's face was impatient, his hollow eyes staring at Harry as he scolded.
"It's class time, sit me down, Potter!"
Harry, however, had no intention of moving, and was more worried about Lupin's situation than being punished by Snape.
"Gryffindor deducted 10 points! If you don't sit down in three seconds, I'll deduct another 50 points! Snape said word for word.
Harry was very angry, but he couldn't help it, so he sat down aggrievedly, because Snape had already begun to count on his own, and he knew very well that Snape had always done what he wanted to do when it came to deducting points.
"Don't worry, Harry, Professor Lupin is fine..."Ivan, who was sitting on the side, couldn't help but comfort when he saw Harry's aggrieved and worried look.
Lupin's situation was clear to Ivan, and it was entirely due to the fact that he had taken a wolf poison potion on the night of the full moon, which caused his physical weakness and discomfort.
What puzzled Ivan was that he remembered that the wolf venom potion he had made according to the recipe given by the system did not have this flaw.
I don't know if it was because Snape didn't crack the reverse thoroughly enough, which led to the existence of this flaw, or if he deliberately wanted to whole Lupin.
"Have you seen Professor Lupin in the past two days? How is he? Harry lowered his voice and asked anxiously, wondering if Lupin would be seriously ill, or targeted by Snape, or he would not be able to come to class.
Ivan didn't want to tell him about Lupin being a werewolf, so he had to reluctantly say that he had seen Lupin yesterday, and he was fine, he was really just a little unwell.
Harry let go of his worries.
Snape's Defence Against the Dark Arts class was very different from Lupin's, not so fun and laughing, just cold knowledge, and the sound of Gryffindor deducting points from time to time.
Not only that, but Snape ignored the progress of the lesson and told everyone to turn to page 394 of the book and learn how to identify and kill a werewolf!
"Potter, tell me, how do you spot a werewolf wizard hiding in a crowd?"
In the middle of the lesson, Snape suddenly asked.
"I don't know, Professor! We're not there yet, and according to the course flow, it's time to learnβ" Harry was about to explain.
"Now it's me in class! I don't need you to teach me how to do it! Snape interrupted Harry's words directly, and then glanced around the classroom in disappointment.
"I really didn't expect that a bunch of third-year students wouldn't be able to distinguish werewolves.
It seems that when your Headmaster Dumbledore returns, I will have to stress to him that our new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor is not as competent as he thought he would be! β
The Gryffindor wizards present all looked indignant, and even the few Slytherin students did not agree with Snape's statement.
The slow pace of their courses is not Professor Lupin's fault.
It was all due to the fact that their first two Defence Against the Dark Arts professors were so bad that Lupin had to make up for their previous lessons.
And there is knowledge about werewolves that is obviously on the last page of the book, and according to the plan, it will be learned at the end of this semester.
Ivan shook his head secretly in his heart, Snape really spared no effort to target Lupin, and learning these first was nothing more than hoping that someone could break Lupin's werewolf identity through this knowledge.
"Quiet!" Looking at the little wizards whispering underneath, Snape increased his voice to stop them.
Snape then ignored Hermione's raised hands and taught everyone how to distinguish a werewolf wizard from each other by some facial features.
And emphasized the brutality of werewolves, and even bluntly said that there are several werewolf attacks in the wizarding world every once in a while, and some little wizards who are not very brave almost think that they are listening to some horror story...
"In addition. An important feature that distinguishes werewolf wizards from ordinary wizards is that every time the moon is full, they will forcibly transform into irrational werewolves, causing a lot of damage. β
At this point, Snape paused, then continued, "And some werewolves regularly drink a potion called wolf poison potion in order to hide themselves, so that they can have a certain amount of sanity in their metamorphosed state..."
Wolf venom potion?
Hearing this name, many young wizards turned their heads to look at Ivan, if they remember correctly, last year Ivan was awarded a second-class Merlin medal for developing a wolf poison potion.
"Oh, I almost forgot, we still have an expert in werewolf studies here..."Snape's gaze was also on Ivan, a slightly disappointed expression on his face.
"Unfortunately, our experts don't seem to know werewolves as well as they do..."
Snape was extremely unhappy that Ivan had not been able to reveal Lupin's identity for months, and he suspected that Ivan had actually identified Lupin's identity, but for some reason he did not say so.
The little wizards below couldn't understand what Snape was saying,
Ivan was the only one who knew what Snape was trying to say, but he wasn't going to do it.
He didn't even stand up and rush to answer in this class, because he was worried that talking too much might increase the likelihood of Lupin's exposure.
A Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson soon ended in Snape's somber voice.
After class, Harry, who came out of the classroom and walked in the hallway, couldn't help but vent his anger after holding back the whole class.
"Why do we have to learn to distinguish between a normal wizard and a werewolf wizard? This is not the course to be taken now, and it is ridiculous that Snape thought that a werewolf would be lurking around us! β
