Chapter 58: The Goal, Boimblu (2)
"You will stay in this mercenary team for the time being, and then report back to me in three weeks." Before leaving, Viscount Ivan said to Wren, "Help me pay more attention to the young man named Baranduke, who, though he swore to me in the name of his mother, has a hunch that this man is the kind of thorn who will not be easily restrained by oaths...... No, I suspect that he even lacks the most basic sense of morality in his heart. As soon as he makes any unusual moves in Poynbru, don't hesitate to forcibly terminate the contract immediately. β
"Understood!" Wren nodded, a little puzzled, "But my lord, how can it be considered an outrageous move?" β
"After reporting to the garrison, as soon as they are ten miles away from Boinbru," Viscount Ivanles stopped, his palm falling like a blade, "terminate the contract at once, and expel from the country!" β
In a makeshift tent, Kia and Esher sat cross-legged on the floor, a map of the North spread between them. This is a guide map that can be bought at hand in Silverlake, and the accuracy is not flattering, but it is enough for a concise analysis.
"That's probably where we are now," Kia said with a quill pen as he circled the grass around Boinbru on the map of the north, "Viscount Ivanles won't allow us to go too far from Boinbru, and the Gatu steppes south of Poinbru haven't been the main battlefield since the Second Battle of the Dragon and Lion. In other words, we're locked in Boimble. Kia looked at Estheau, "I'm even sure that if we show the slightest disobedience, the lieutenant named Wren will immediately force us to terminate the contractβno doubt that Ivanles will grant him such authority." β
"How likely is it that Boimbrough will be besieged?"
"Hardly." Kia shook his head worriedly, "There have been cases in the past where the super-large-scale raiding forces of the Misty Mountains have successfully sacked Poimpur by taking advantage of the blizzard. It is said that that blizzard filled almost every street in Poynbru. But a snowstorm of that magnitude is rare for decades. β
"Yes, and it doesn't always work." Esthew whispered.
"There is no other way, these three weeks can only be wasted." Frustrated, Kia threw his quill on the map, "I finally made a name for myself, but I was forced to do it by Ivanles." Bandits, he really treats us as ordinary mercenary groups. β
"As soon as I got that Miss Imperial to Poimble, I set off for Ryan. "The mercenary is blocked by the mercenary, and there is still an expedition hero evaluation to try." β
"But you're the leader of this army, and we still ......have a contract," Kia hesitated, "and besides, you were in your mother's nameβ"
Eshua interrupted him: "For as long as I can remember, my father has been my only relative. It's just that Ivanles doesn't know. β
Listening to Eshy's indifferent tone as always, Kia suddenly felt an urge that bordered on rage, and he wanted to grab Essho's collar and ask him what he had gone through to spit out such bastard words. But he held back stiffly, and just asked, "What are you going to do before that?" β
"I'm going to go to Silverlake Town to hire a few free mercenaries, and before I go to Pohuraban, most of them have run away. With just a dozen or so people trying to cross the northern border, it was quite difficult to get from Silverlake to Poynbru. β
"But where does the money come from?" Kia reminded Estheau, "We have all divided the commission from the last mission, and we don't leave a word. β
"If I ask Salamano to borrow it, he will definitely not refuse." Eshu calmly finished speaking, got up and walked out of the tent. Kea silently watched Eshy's back, feeling for the first time that this peer was so far away from him. This sense of distance even made him shiver all over his body.
