Act XVII. Request for Papers

A few hours earlier, it was located in the town of Griffin, in the western part of the kingdom.

Hans is the editor-in-chief of the monthly alchemist Griffin, and the reason why they have such a different name is because Hans was obsessed with a novel called "The Monthly Witch Nozzach" when he founded the journal, and he registered the name with a pat on his head, and when he regretted it, it was too late.

With this unscrupulous name, the fate of the journal was not smooth, sales could not be increased, and there were few contributors, and every month near the publication date, Hans had to struggle to get people to write manuscripts to fill enough pages, which can be said to be exhausting.

It's the middle of the month, and Hans doesn't need to be in such a hurry, but there are only three new papers that can be published in the real sense of the word this month, and most of the rest are duplicate verification papers, which in many cases are just different substances to carry out the same experiments, without any innovative meaning, and are simply repetitive work.

"Ugh."

Just as Hans let out a long sigh and felt that everything was gone, the teleportation circle on his desk flickered, and a paper appeared with a note.

"Hey, what is this?"

Hans picked up the paper first, and the title was long, but clear.

"Discussion on the Special Gases Produced in Limestone Heating Experiments and Several Problems in the Theory of Traditional Combustion Reactions".

As soon as he saw this title, Hans felt a throbbing in his heart, and realized that it was not simple behind it.

He picked up the note again, and the familiar words on it made Hans smile.

"This guy is really duplicitous."

The note was very short, asking Hans to send a letter of invitation to the author after reading the paper, but the letter was written by Angre, a friend who did not support Hans in running an academic journal.

Although it is said that running a journal is a dead end, whenever Hans falls into hell on deadline day, Angel will always send a paper in time to save the emergency, and a certain tacit understanding has formed between the two.

"Remember that Andre seems to have been serving as a reviewer recently, so it seems that he reviewed this paper?"

Confused, Hans opened the paper.

Years later, when Hans was interviewed and asked how he felt when he first saw the paper, he could clearly recall that he felt no less shocked than he had been when he first came into contact with magic.

Time passed quickly, and an hour passed, and Hans closed the paper, and he did not go to the verification experiment, because Angret's note was the best proof of this.

If Anglo hadn't verified it himself, he wouldn't have recommended it to Hans.

So what exactly is the author...... Lionel. Ian Gray? ”

Hans was a little confused, isn't Ian Gray the family that is so rich that it explodes, how can there be someone who comes to do academics?

Leaving this doubt aside, Hans found the contact address at the end of the paper.

"Crescent Academy, I remember it seems to be a magical girls' school in a nearby province, strange, don't they never accept boys?"

Hans subconsciously thought that Reiner was a student of Crescent Academy, he still remembered that when he was a student, Crescent Academy was a relatively famous magic school, but it was not known for the quality of teaching, but for its only female students, including teachers and principals and even dormitory administrators, all of whom were women, and became the object of delusion for countless boys.

He admitted that when he was an ignorant student, he also fantasized that he came to Crescent Academy for some special reason and became the only male student among them, hugging left and right, and reaching the peak of his life.

Shaking his head, Hans hurriedly found a piece of parchment, picked up a quill, and began to write a letter of request, which he then handed to the owl to send out, and if it went well, it should be delivered to Crescent Academy this evening.

"I can only hope that no one else has noticed this paper."

Hans muttered to himself, watching the distant owl fade away from the horizon in the afternoon sunset.

......

While Hans's owl was still soaring in the sky, heading towards the Crescent Academy, thousands of miles away in the Rainbow Tower, Garon sat in his office, as if waiting for something.

Knock Knock Knock –

There was a knock on the door, and a slightly thin old man walked in.

The old man's hair was sparse, but his eyes were as sharp as an eagle, and he was wearing a loose robe, and the cuffs were shining with six gold edges, which was the hallmark of the six-ring mage.

The Six Rings Mage is already the apex of the mid-level mages, and above that are the high-level mages who are enough to be called "Your Excellency".

"Garon, where's the paper?"

The other party didn't say hello, and asked directly.

"Here, Mr. Fleming."

Garon hurriedly stood up, gave up his seat, and respectfully handed the paper to the old man.

The old man, known as Fleming, sat down and opened the paper.

Garon was a little apprehensive, sweating in his palms, worried that his teacher would be attacked by magic, after all, Fleming was a master in the field of alchemy, and he had made a lot of achievements under the theory of Master Hohenheim, and he should also be a person who believed in modern alchemy theory, and he didn't know how to react in the face of such a thesis.

Fleming, however, was much calmer than Garon had expected, and when he had turned the last page, the old mage let out a sigh of relief and asked.

"You've done a validation experiment, are you sure?"

"Yes, teacher, but I don't know if it's ......."

Before Garon could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by Fleming raising his hand.

"Actually, this is a question that several of us have been exploring."

Fleming's words stunned Garon.

Had his teacher been trying to overturn the combustion theory?

"His Excellency Hohenheim's theory of the burning of the element of fire is great, but it does not explain many problems, and for this reason, several of our Excellencies of the mercury balance have put forward many conjectures and hypotheses, but none of them have been confirmed."

Fleming said lightly.

"For example, the mass increases after combustion, and we now usually think that the fire element has a negative mass, so the mass of the object will increase when it loses the fire element."

Glancing at the paper, Fleming went on to explain.

"Just like the experiment in this paper, combustion actually absorbs the fire element into the limestone, so the mass of the limestone will decrease after it becomes white rock, and the extra special gas should be the air that has lost the fire element, which will lead to the blocking of combustion, and the paper on this theory will be published in this issue of "Alchemy", and it is normal for this author not to understand."

"I see, you're really smart, teacher."

Hearing Fleming's explanation, Garon immediately felt a sense of enlightenment, and the dark cloud that had previously hung over his head suddenly disappeared.

Only Fleming, who glanced at the author of the paper again, frowned slightly.
