Act 493. Baltic Conference (Part I)
The day after the Dawn Tread arrived at the Baltic Half, early in the morning.
The sea breeze blows the flags on the battleship, the hunting sounds, the seagulls soar above the sea, but subconsciously avoid the dark near the big hollow, the sea is blue, sparkling, no one can think that behind the white high wall, is the biggest secret in this world.
Reiner left Phyllis in the room and made her way to the battleship's conference room.
There were already several high-level mages sitting here, Lord Braggs was whispering to Lord Calvados, Lord Alberton looked at the parchment in his hand and was silent, Field saw Reiner, nodded in greeting, and then continued to read the latest issue of "Alchemy" on the table, while Lord Regens, his eyes were slightly closed, as if he was thinking about something.
After waiting a little longer, the other mages arrived, and it was only when the hour hand pointed to eight o'clock that Lord Braggs cleared his throat and spoke.
"Last night, I did a survey of the big hole, and the results were the same as before, from the outside, the big hole is not special, but the detector that goes deep into it will be abnormal, I think, maybe only in the big hole, can detect the strange flow of magic."
Praggs's words surprised Reiner slightly, although his idea was only a guess about the possibility of the phenomenon, but there was already a certain advanced thinking, and if there had been time for a careful and thorough study of this great hollow, I believe that in only a few months, Lord Praggs could easily have come to a similar conclusion to Reiner.
"If you have any ideas, you can say them and communicate them, and we will delve into the rationality for the time being, and only make the boldest assumptions."
After hearing Lord Braggs' gesture for free discussion, Augustine, whose hair covered one eye, raised his hand and continued.
"I think that there is some kind of monster with special magical properties in the big hollow, this kind of monster cannot be observed under normal circumstances, and even the most advanced magic detectors cannot catch the existence of the other party, but this kind of monster can be visualized, and at the same time, once it is visually seen, this kind of monster will be contained or damaged to a certain extent, therefore, this kind of monster is trying to prevent the behavior of sight."
As he spoke, he looked around, then pulled out a piece of paper that was a replica of the Sauron xenomorph depicted by Paul the Stormbrier's vice-captain, a new type that the mages had never seen before.
Sauron's xenomorphs have a strong ability to evolve and adapt to the environment beyond the imagination of most people, and at the same time, in order to implement the original purpose of their existence, these monsters have also evolved different branches, specializing in fighting different enemies, which is the strange xenomorph.
And the monster depicted by Vice Captain Paul is obviously a strange species.
"I have reason to believe that Vice Captain Paul discovered this monster during his exploration, and he saw the monster's existence through his own naked eyes, thus causing some kind of damage to the monster, and after that, he recorded the appearance of the monster and passed it back through some method."
Augustine said, citing several examples of magical creatures that were either afraid of light or extremely sensitive to magical projection, in order to prove that his conjectures were based on facts in nature.
"As for the destruction of the detector, it is the xeno's protection of itself, and it is able to create a huge magic tide in a short period of time to attack the enemy."
Augustine's explanation was obviously more simplistic, arguing that all anomalies originated from an unknown monster that mages only needed to catch to solve the problem.
"Whether this monster exists is indeed a huge question, Sauron's xenomorph is extremely dangerous, and Vice Captain Paul is obviously not strong, how he has time to carefully observe this monster, and how he passed the portrait of the monster, this is all doubt."
Regens bowed slightly, with the picture of Vice Captain Paul, Augustine's statement is actually very reasonable, although the description of the monster's characteristics may be a little biased, but the possibility of such a monster in the Great Cavern is undoubtedly extremely high.
"Questions about the probe."
Reiner raised his hand at this point, and he paused, waiting for no one else to speak, before continuing.
"I have an immature explanation."
Hearing Reiner's words, everyone in the room fell silent, because the young high-ranking mage was able to come up with something new and unique every time, and it was often correct in the end.
"Yesterday I mentioned that it may be the observation behavior of the detector that caused the appearance of the magic tide, and later, I did some experiments on this, and this is the result of the experiment."
Reiner took out the paper of the experimental process from the storage bag, and with a wave of his hand, the paper floated in front of the other mages.
"Ladies and gentlemen, before reading the experimental papers, I would like to remind you that as we learn more about the microscopic world, we already know that there are many conclusions that used to seem taken for granted that do not apply in the microscopic situation, and that there are many conclusions that seem strange now, but are correct in the case of microscopy or high speed, like the time dilation effect of relativism."
Reiner said, looking around, before speaking.
"I think we should expand the existing magic system to distinguish between macro and micro, high speed and low speed, otherwise, the existing understanding may be greatly impacted, causing academic disasters, and it is easier to have wrong perceptions due to one-sided understanding."
Behind quantum mechanics is the ultimate challenge to objective reality and causal determinism, not like wave-particle duality or relativity, but only the explanation and refinement of current phenomena.
Lord Braggs looked down thoughtfully, and began to read Reiner's experimental report.
The entire room was silent, except for the occasional sound of flipping papers, and the expressions of each mage were focused and serious, sometimes they stopped to think, sometimes frowned, but everyone continued to read.
Augustine was the first to finish reading the paper, because the original electron double-slit interference experiment originated from the Newington Institute, which is a research facility under the Storm Council, and Augustine, as the vice president of the Storm Council, was deeply impressed by the paper, because the first author of the paper was a rookie of the Storm Council in recent years, and he followed the young man's growth closely.
However, Augustine felt unreasonable about Reiner's revised experimental paper on electron double-slit interference.
"Wait, Lord Ian Gray, do you think that the electron passed through two gaps at the same time, interfered with itself, and then reverted to a particle when it fell to the receiving screen?"
Augustine asks that observation played an important role in Reiner's experiment, and it could even be argued that without this behavior, the state of the electron would not even be able to determine the probability distribution.
"That's crazy, Lord Ian Gray, according to your theory, doesn't the moon exist when we don't look at it?"
