Chapter 16: Hermione and the Trolls
When he hurried downstairs again, he saw Quirrell stumbling towards the restaurant. He ran up the stairs leading up to the basement and disappeared around the corner at breakneck speed, not seeming to see the maca on the stairs on the second floor.
"Salute to the spirit of the actor." Maca straightened up and saluted as she ran, and soon ran into the basement hallway.
As soon as he got there, he smelled a compound stench of smelly socks that hadn't been washed in two months and an old toilet.
"The smell is terrible mixed with the pumpkin smell of the castle."
Maca looked up and saw the trolls in the hallway, but they didn't seem to notice him.
"Faint!" Maca drew her wand and gave it a moment.
"Bang!"
The troll fell in response, which made Maca stunned for a moment - he remembered that the book said that the troll's resistance to magic was still good, so why wouldn't it be so dizzy, right?
As Maca pondered, the troll struggled to its feet again. It seems that Maca remembered correctly, and the anti-demon skin of this thing is a major characteristic inherited from giants.
Immediately afterward, Maca learns about the second characteristic of trolls - their brains are not good.
He looked left and right, probably because the corridor in the basement was too dark to find the enemy attacking him. Instead, as if it had heard something, it used its strange power to force its way in through the door next to it.
Immediately, Maca heard a terrible, terrified scream.
"The IQ is even lower than I expected, and it seems that the book "Monsters and Their Origins" is going to be revised, and the statements in it are too vague." Maca hurried over there full of grumbling.
"Hermione!"
Arriving at the door, Maca immediately saw Hermione, huddled under the sink, shivering at the angry troll!
The troll apparently hadn't noticed the extra person behind him, and it was striding towards Hermione, the big stick in its hand almost smashing into Hermione's body. The situation at the scene was obviously extremely critical, and it was obviously too late for the Levitation Charm or something.
"Flying sand and rocks!" In a hurry, Maca barely aimed at the stick in her hand and cast a blowing spell.
The large wooden stick came out of the troll's hand, almost grazing the ends of Hermione's hair, flicking in the corner of the wall, landing in the toilet cubicle, knocking over a large chunk of the partition.
"Broken bones!"
While the troll was still stunned by the wooden stick, Maca aimed at the back of the troll's neck and slammed it with all her might.
I only heard a "bang", and a bowl-sized gap appeared at the back of the troll's neck, which was covered in blood, and the shattered cervical vertebrae could be faintly seen.
The troll's massive body shook, and then fell to the ground with a thud, and its body twitched a few times.
"Whew-" Maca couldn't help but sigh when she saw this, "If it is hit somewhere else, it is estimated that it will be a matter of less meat, no wonder this big guy is known for his rough skin and thick meat!" β
"Hmm...... Maca! Hermione looked frightened and threw herself into Maca's arms.
He felt the beauty of Xiangyu, but he was muttering in his head: "This little girl, what grade has she started to develop?" β
"Ahem, it's okay, it's okay." Feeling that the girl in his arms was trembling, he had to temporarily suppress the crankiness in his heart and speak to comfort him.
Speaking of which, Maca doesn't have any special feelings for this jack-of-all-trades lady, even when she grows up. But who would refuse a heroine who took the initiative to give her arms? Although there is a reason for the incident now, it also makes Maca a little fluttery.
In order to calm the commotion, Maca began to whisper something, and vaguely heard inexplicable words such as "three years" and "death penalty".
Suddenly, there was a loud sound of footsteps, and both of them who were hugging each other looked up. Hermione was stunned for a moment, and quickly pushed Maca's chest hard, keeping herself as far away as possible.
Obviously, the commotion just now was too loud, and the violent collision and the roar of the trolls attracted someone.
"Hermione!" "Maca?"
It was Ron and Harry, who watched in amazement, not noticing Hermione's flushed face.
But before they could say anything else, Professor McGonagall had already rushed into the bathroom, followed by Snape and Quirrell at the end. Quirrell only glanced at the troll before letting out a feeble sob, sitting on a toilet bowl and clutching his chest.
Snape walked over and looked at the troll. Professor McGonagall looked at the others, her lips white and her eyes wide, apparently in a rather angry state.
"What the hell are you guys up to?" Professor McGonagall said, with a cold anger in her voice.
Harry and Ron glanced at Maca, only to see him standing there with his wand still in his hand.
"You're lucky not to be killed by it! Why don't you stay in the dorm honestly? Professor McGonagall reprimanded loudly, and Maca secretly said that she was worthy of the head of Gryffindor, and she was angry and angry like the lion on the house crest.
"Oh......" "Please don't do that, Professor McGonagall...... He's looking for me. β
Marka was about to speak, but was interrupted by Hermione.
"Miss Granger!" Professor McGonagall was a little surprised to say that she had the impression that Hermione Granger was a good student who was extremely obedient to the school rules.
Hermione finally held on to her limp knee and struggled to her feet.
"I'm looking for trolls because I'm ...... I thought I could deal with it on my own β you know, because I've read about them in books and know them well. β
"Oh, Hermione, it doesn't have to be like this." Maca shook her head, he had already gotten up.
"Professor, I heard on my way to the dining room that Miss Granger was in the bathroom." "She wasn't in a good mood because she was in a bad mood because something was going on, so she didn't go to the restaurant all the time. β
"I just wanted to come and comfort her, you know, she's my friend." Maca spread her hands, her face full of innocence, "But who knew there would be a troll running rampant in Hogwarts?" β
"I think this should be looked into." Maca glanced at Rocky meaningfully, but Rocky was covering his face and sobbing loudly, continuing his actor-level performance!
"Ohβif that'......" Professor McGonagall muttered as she looked at them.
"Mr. McLean, you blew up the troll's cervical vertebrae with a smashing charm, didn't you?" Snape glanced coldly at Harry, then looked at Maca Dao.
Maca immediately shouted in her heart, but she nodded with the same face on the surface.
"I think so."
"Hmph, that's a lot of power, but can you explain where you learned it?" Snape stared at Maka with a gloomy face, "I don't think there are 'curse' spells in first-year textbooks, do you?" β
Professor McGonagall glanced back at the troll's wound, which was still gushing blood!
ββ¦β¦ I am self-taught. "Maca had to tell the truth.
The scene just now was too urgent, and he didn't have time to think about it so much, he just subconsciously picked a spell that fits. At this point, he could only rejoice that he was far from being able to master the Unforgivable Curse! Otherwise, if you don't pay attention to the green light just now, you will probably have to go into Azkaban to deal with the Dementors.
"Oh my God! You know, you're only in first grade! β
Professor McGonagall seemed to have only come to her senses at this point, and she hurriedly pounced on Maca to look around, as if she was more concerned about her student's health than the incantation.
ββ¦β¦ Maca. β
Hermione looked at Maca worriedly, she had a clear idea of the classification of spells. "Cursed" spells are invariably dark magic, and they require strong negative emotions to be unleashed. Even the three unforgivable spells are in this category!
It's just that, unlike other "curses". The reason why the Unforgivable Curse is "Unforgivable" is precisely because the "Killing Curse" and the "Drill Heart Curse" do not have a corresponding cracking curse; The Imperius Curse is due to its disruptive spell characteristics - it can completely control a person's mind, body and mind.
"It's okay, it's just a little bit out of force - I mean, Mr. McLean, you'll have to give a reasonable explanation for your actions!" Professor McGonagall seemed relieved, and immediately grimaced when she realized that something was wrong.
"Well, I think I'm probably going a little fast - I mean, I love to study and ......" With that, Maca gave Hermione a deliberate look, "I hope I can protect the people I want to protect." β
Hermione's face turned red again, but Harry and Ron, who were beside Professor McGonagall, didn't react. It seems that girls have always been more precocious than boys, and there is some truth to this.
Professor McGonagall looked at Maca, the corners of her mouth curling upward. In her opinion, the appearance of a little adult like Maca really makes people laugh a little bit.
Snape looked back and forth at Maca and Hermione without saying a word, not knowing what was going on in his mind.
"Professor McGonagall, if it hadn't been for Maca to save me, I'm afraid I'd have been eaten by the trolls right now." Hermione pleaded.
"I think there's a need to talk to Dumbledore about the Smashing Charm," Professor McGonagall said, "but I don't think there's ever been a first-year student who has been able to defeat a troll on his own, and you've earned ten points for Hufflepuff." β
"Now, you come with me to the principal's office. As for you," Professor McGonagall glanced at the others, "you can go. β
Glancing at the three of them, Maca seemed to calmly follow Professor McGonagall as she turned away, and walked out of the bathroom doorβin fact, all that was left was a cracked and broken door frame.
"Oh - I'm here, dealing with this big, big guy." Quirrell stammered as he wiped his face.
Snape gave Harry a cold look, then followed without looking back.
Hermione looked at Maca's back with a worried expression, as for whether Maca would be expelled or something, she didn't know at all.
Harry and Ron weren't so worried, or maybe they didn't think that much at all.
"What is the 'curse'? That looks so cool! Ron looked at the troll lying motionless on the ground, the bowl of wounds looking a little scary.
"Yes! Even the big bat that only hurts people says 'not bad'! I can't believe it. Harry nodded.
"He's just sarcastic about Maca!" Hermione said loudly.
