Chapter Forty-Eight: The Tower of the Secret Island and the Fire Dragon

The creature was fierce by nature, writhing and trying to break through Maca's barrier spell.

Maca's eyes narrowed, and she pulled out Snape's Christmas present.

"Shadowless!"

The sword formed by the spell was invisible, but it was unusually sharp. With a single blow, the attacking creature tore apart and landed in the bushes with a "plop".

"Peruvian venomous horned lizard?" Maca looked hesitantly, "Does Ravenclaw have a hobby of collecting magical creatures?" ”

But before he could continue to think about it, there was movement in front of him again.

There are indeed a lot of magical creatures on this island, and although most of them are not very dangerous guys, they still delay him a lot.

But what made him a little curious was that he found many large pits in the woods, and most of the trees around those pits were crooked, and in a few of the pits the soil looked very new, faintly damp......

When he slew the attacking creature again, he habitually pushed aside the bushes, and suddenly felt his vision clear.

It was a strange building in the middle of a forest. It looks like a single tower, but there are many large and small spire huts extending from the outer wall. Although the individual rooms do not look very large, they look quite bloated overall.

At the top of the tower, a huge eagle-shaped coat of arms is inlaid with a striking golden eagle on a black background, as if to announce the identity of the owner of the place.

It's been a long time, and the building is already covered with green vines, showing a vibrant appearance.

Maca walked to the gate and slowly pushed open the door, which was already a little stagnant, only to find that the inside was as clean and natural as it had just been built, as if the owner had just left in the morning.

Willy still obediently followed him, but her eyes lingered on some wild flowers in the doorway.

As soon as you enter, you will find a relatively spacious rotunda with decorative objects such as tapestries on the walls. The floor was covered with large stone bricks, but there was not much wear and tear.

In the middle is a spiral staircase that leads to the top of the tower, and when you look up, there is faint light streaming in. Just because the lamps on the walls had not yet been lit, it couldn't help but make the hall look a little dull.

Maca and Willy stepped inside, and after a few more looks, they realized that the canvases on the walls were all in the background, and the cupboards were empty, and there seemed to be nothing of value here.

There is a large room on the second floor. He went in and took a cursory look, and found that it looked like a study, but the bookshelves inside had already been emptied.

"Maybe they've all moved to Hogwarts!" Maca couldn't help but think.

Further up, there are two smaller bedrooms.

Although many things have been taken away, there are still some things left in the room on the right. Maca went in and looked at it, and immediately noticed that there were several old books on the top of a desk.

"Magical Creature Experiment Notes?"

He flipped through it casually, but found that not only did it record a lot of experimental data, but also interspersed with a lot of thoughts on the day that he wrote down in the later experiments.

Some of the content is related to experimentation, but the further back you go, the more essays about everyday life appear.

"The name 'Eun' appears a bit too often!" Maca couldn't help but start talking to herself, "From a stranger to a liking gradually...... How it feels like you're peeping into someone else's emotional diary. ”

He thought about what the Bronze Kitty Eagle had said, "This is also where Rowena and Ravenclaw meet", and couldn't help but quickly turn the note to the title page.

The signature on it made him wonder a little - Roy Na Mira.

"Rowena Ravenclaw's real name? Where the hell is Rowena? ”

I couldn't figure it out for a while, but that wasn't the main purpose of my visit. Maca closed the note and shoved it into her suitcase.

"Anyway, Rowena definitely won't need it, so I'll keep it for her......"

But at this moment, Willy, who had been silent, rarely took the initiative to speak.

"Mom said it's not good to steal."

Maca looked at her expressionless and delicate face, and felt that she really didn't even have the strength to complain.

"Okay, okay, I'll put it back."

As he was talking, he saw a "pop" sound around him, and a large group of elves instantly surrounded them, looking at him and Willy with big, round eyes.

"Who are you?"

"Oh! It's human! ”

"Wow, it's really human!"

"Oooo It's really like my mother said, it's so high! ”

Maca looked at the jumbled voices around her, and for a moment froze in place—he realized that he didn't understand at all!

Luckily, the house-elves didn't seem to have any ill intentions, just looking around him and Willy up and down. It's as if they haven't seen anyone in a long time.

Maca roughly counted, and there were more than thirty of them. But when he inadvertently looked back, he found that even the back door and corridor were crowded with house-elves of different appearances. There are so many of them that you can't see them at a glance.

These pokemon have a completely different feel from the other house-elves out there.

They are tall or short, fat or thin—the tallest of them is less than half a person tall, but they all have distinct looks and behaviors.

Even the same big ears and long, flat nose have their own characteristics.

Of course, the biggest difference is the clothes on their bodies!

As we all know, house-elves don't wear proper clothes. They are intelligent magical creatures that have been conquered by wizards in ancient times, starting with a lot of servile training in the first generation, and each generation will be taught by the enslaved parental house-elves, so that from generation to generation, slave status has even become their nature.

Slaves, on the other hand, were not allowed to wear proper clothes - that was proof that they had been abandoned by their masters. This idea is even engraved in their souls.

If you give a piece of clothing to a house-elf, or even a sock or a glove, they will run away screaming. That's a brutal reality that they absolutely can't accept.

Nothing has changed in the Hogwarts kitchen.

But the elves in front of Marca's eyes brought him a sense of freedom. He didn't see the kind of servility that was deeply planted in his bones in any of these elves.

"You are...... Well, Rowena's ......" Maca searched for the right words, and took them apart, word by word, "it's Rowena Mira's...... Friends? ”

Suddenly, the large group of elves began to speak, and the chaotic scene made Maca's head begin to dizzy.

"Oh! Humans are talking! ”

"Yes! Yes! He asked if we were friends with the Witch of Rowena Mira! ”

"Of course we're not friends with the witch of Rowena Mira!"

"Oh, yes! None of us have seen her! ”

"But my grandfather's grandfather's grandfather's...... How many grandfathers came before? ”

"Who knows! I can't remember! ”

The elves were chattering when they heard a cough coming through the door.

"Ahem, quiet! Don't remember the rules? What do you do when you have a guest? ”

An older elf suddenly walked in through the door, and Maca immediately noticed it, and the surroundings fell silent. After a while, a few elves next to the table stepped out of the way, and with a "pop" sound, a little elf took a tray and put two cups of black tea on the table.

Maca opened her mouth, but she didn't know what to say—people didn't seem to understand.

He was thinking about it, but he heard a similar commotion outside.

"Oh! The stupid dragons are here again—"

"Drive away, drive away!"

"Oh my God! Those big guys have bad brains! ”

"yes, yes! My memory is really bad, and I've just been driven back for a few days! ”

Maca was stunned, and saw that the elves in the house had changed one phantom after another, and he hurriedly ran to the window, but saw a rare sight for wizards outside the island.

Outside the island, a group of fire dragons were rushing straight into the invisible barrier, and the black-green scales and long golden horns made it easy to distinguish their species - it was a group of Romanian long-horned dragons!

Maca roughly counted, and there were about twenty of them!

Adult Romanian long-horned dragons usually grew up to 40 feet long, which is not the largest of the fire dragons, but it was no less ferocious.

Just as Maca was hesitating whether to do something, he saw that the red aura of the previous one appeared again on the outer wall of the tower below him.

The aura grew bigger and bigger, and the whole tower was encased inside, and from a distance it looked like there was an extra red circle of light outside the tower.

The group of fire dragons flapped their dragon wings and rushed towards this direction at a high speed. But the moment they gradually approached a certain area around the tower, the red aura around the tower shook suddenly, and then spread out silently.

There was a clear confusion among the dragons, who tried to dodge with their flying abilities, but they still couldn't dodge - the speed of the aura was too fast!

As soon as those fire dragons were touched by the aura, they let out a burst of sorrow, and they were pushed back to the edge of the island by the rapidly spreading aura without resistance. Several dragons could not even continue to fly, and fell to the shallow waters of the seashore, making a splash.

But the remaining dozen or so fire dragons were not discouraged, as if they were used to this situation. After readjusting their positions, they swooped towards the tower again, significantly faster than the first time.

Maca looked down, and it seemed that red light was still condensing around the tower, but it couldn't gather into a halo again for a while.
