Volume 1 Under the Reed Name Chapter 6 The Buddha Temple Outside the City

Chapter 6 Buddha Shrine Outside the City

Knock, knock, knock~

I wanted to go to sleep, but the habits I had developed over the years didn't allow me to do so, and my brain started working as soon as I started hearing the slightest sound.

The ears slowly could only hear the sound of chisels hitting wood, to the sound gradually amplified, and then to be able to hear the rustle of bamboo blown by the wind outside.

I opened my eyes to determine and judge the surrounding environment, and slowly got up and pulled open the bamboo mat that covered my body and even covered my head, and in the process of getting up, I felt a little strange, that is, the touch of my left hand was not sensitive.

Looking down at my left hand, I saw that it was now covered with an intricately designed iron prosthetic, which was not as tactile as a normal hand, but was able to move like a hand.

I stretched out what was called my left hand, and the so-called skeleton was replaced with a steel support, and my elbow was able to move.

If you say that you are as free as a hand, there is still a big difference in comparison, and the same is true for the wrist, and the metacarpal bones and knuckles are clearly visible, but they are just replaced.

After a little hesitation, I searched with my eyes for the source of the sound, and in the process of searching I caught a glimpse of this strange room.

The house can be said to be full of Buddha statues, but these Buddha statues are not ordinary, not the normal Buddha statues.

The statues of the Buddha are all kneeling, with expressions that should not be said to be pain or anger.

Some have four hands, some have only two hands, and the most have six hands, two of which are held high in the air, two of which are folded in front of the chest, and the remaining two are folded on the legs.

Some only have three hands, probably originally had six hands, but some of them are broken.

Most of the Buddha statues are piled up behind a shrine, and there are only a few scattered in other places.

"Have you woken up yet?"

The incessant chiseling sound accompanied by unwavering words reached my ears, and I looked in the direction of the source of the sound and saw only a one-armed old man.

He was dressed in shabby shorts and a shirt slightly orange under the oil lamp in front of him, and his hair was sparse and messy, looking like he hadn't been taken care of in a long time.

"I thought you were dead."

Looks like I've died again, but how did I get here? I thought so.

"Who are you? Where is this? I asked the strange old man who was just carving a Buddha statue for himself.

"Out of town." It seems that the old man has no intention of answering who he is, perhaps he has no name, or he has forgotten his name.

"How did I get here?"

"......" The old man didn't pay attention.

"This left hand is ......"

"......" The old man still didn't explain.

It seemed that I couldn't get any more useful information from him, so I decided to get up and check my body.

The clothes have not changed much except that the left sleeve is broken, and the weapon is still only a wedge ball, but there are more hooks and locks that have been used before.

Habitually touched the position where the shuriken was placed, but it was still empty.

"If you find any ninja equipment, I can put it on for you."

I paused when I heard the words, then returned to normal as if there was no one else here, and just said thank you to myself.

After being interrupted by the voice, I resumed my last interrupted search, and I saw a very different Buddha statue on my right.

The Buddha statue is like a carved Guanyin, with one hand outstretched, and an oil lamp placed underneath, which is the only light source in the whole room.

"If you find any tokens, put them on them, and maybe the Buddha will let you see something very special."

As he spoke, I turned my head to the left to look at him, and listened patiently with a humble attitude, for he must have understood more than I did.

After he finished speaking, I waited for a while and left the shrine.

There are a lot of white strips on the ground at the main entrance, and if you look closely, there are spell marks painted on them, and when you go out, you can see that the left and right sides of the door frame of the gate are full of charms.

The shrine is surrounded by a bamboo forest, with stone bricks piled up in front of and behind the house, and the most conspicuous and identical is a stone statue in the courtyard in front of the house.

The body of this stone statue is the same as the intact Buddha statue inside the house, the only difference is that the hands of the Buddha statue outside the house are holding the ghost fire alof. At this time, the top of the mini Buddha statue that I have been carrying with me since I was a child also flashed a faint ghostly light.

I took out the Buddha statue from my waist and it was like a thought suddenly came out of my hand and into my brain.

"Put your hands together, sit cross-legged in front of the stone statue, knock the Buddha and meditate, and the Buddha will take you to the places you have been."

I walked along the stone path to the stone sculpture of the ghost Buddha in the courtyard, sat cross-legged, and put the Buddha against the position of the Yin Hall, meditating.

I felt the whole world slowly shrinking, as if everything around me was swallowed up by endless darkness, and I was the only one left in the whole world who was knocking cross-legged.

I only have one impression in my mind, and that is the current courtyard ghost Buddha, which is my only choice.

Then there was a strange feeling, the endless darkness faded outward, the scene was stretched open, and I faced the ghost Buddha, and the position behind the ghost Buddha was the gate of the Buddha shrine.

In other words, my position was shifted from between the ghost Buddha and the Buddha shrine gate to the ghost Buddha between me and the gate.

I got up and felt calm. Then I went to the left, and to my left was another clearing, which was also surrounded on three sides by an opening with a shrine in the innermost part.

The window of the shrine was opened, and there was another Buddha, and a box was placed in front of the Buddha statue. Another thought was punched into my head.

"Forgotten things, drifting here."

I respectfully stepped away from the statue and turned and walked towards another path, which looked like a cave through a mountain.

The layout is the same as all the tunnels I've seen before, except for caves, wooden pillars, oil lamps, and a door at the end of the passage that depicts a human figure in white lime.

I tried to knock it off, only to find it as hard as stone.

"How is that possible?" It was undoubtedly a door, but it couldn't be opened, and the impact on the board had the sensation of hitting the stone, not only the hardness, but also the sharpness and angular edge of the stone that could be transmitted to the brain.

Everything you see is unheard of and unseen before, and if you have to say that you have seen any strange phenomena before, it is nothing more than a resurrection from the dead.

Maybe this place was blocked in the first place, maybe I was too careful, so it seems that there is only one way to go.

Thinking of the fact that I had come out of the courtyard, and when I walked out of the courtyard gate, or what looked like a courtyard gate, I saw the broken drawbridge, and the endless cliffs.

Kicked a rock down, and no sound came back for a long time.

"Desperate."
