Chapter 883: The Rabbit in the Library
No matter how bizarre and horrible things have happened at Hogwarts, it's still a school.
Students start at the age of 11 and graduate at the age of 18 β they have spent seven years at Hogwarts Castle in their memories.
Yes, it was always a school for children.
And this year, a Christmas event that took advantage of almost the entire campus proved this with the ubiquitous youth characteristic. Even though there are a lot of adult wizards from outside the school early in the morning today, they are not the main group for this event, and the real protagonists are the students.
Harry, they woke up today to a slight but melodious "Red-nosed Reindeer". When they hurriedly put on their cold clothes, scarves and gloves and went outside, they found that the sound of music was everywhere, echoing throughout the campus.
Who would have thought that just waking up to feel an extraordinarily light and warm Christmas atmosphere?
But there's more to the Christmas spirit than just the music!
Looking out the window, a large number of Christmas trees have appeared in the vestibule, which was once covered with snow, and all kinds of sweets and bells are entwined with them, as well as colorful sequins added by magic spells.
The large Christmas grove sets off the "Hogwarts Candy Castle" decorated by Maca herself like a children's playground, and even the snow seems to be a natural soft frosting.
"What are you doing here? The Potions classroom and the third, fourth, and fifth greenhouses of the Herbology class are now open! While there aren't many people who know about it now, let's go check it out first! β
As soon as Harry and Ron arrived in the common room, they were pulled away by a few Gryffindor friends. Although it was mentioned in the announcement in advance that the professors of each course will prepare their own Christmas projects, it is up to you to feel what it actually looks like.
Since the Potions classroom in the basement had long been occupied by the geographically advantageous badgers and snakes, the Gryffindor students had to choose to go to the greenhouse outside to see what was going on.
Out of the castle, Harry and Ron crunched forward with the snow that was still fluttering, stepping on the snow that had accumulated in the middle of the night.
In fact, there were a lot of footprints back and forth on the ground, and there were sporadic customers at the school gate early. They followed their classmates in front of them through the colorful Christmas forest, and as soon as they saw the greenhouse, they all shouted and screamed.
I saw that red and white ribbons were hung on the walls outside the greenhouses, and Christmas rings made of mistletoe were also hung high. But the most eye-catching thing is the renovated land around the greenhouse.
It can be seen that the same unknown and strange flowers are planted on those ridges. The stems and leaves of the flowers were red, but the buds on the top were green, but it was too early for them to bloom in the snow and ice.
And at this moment, a small Gryffindor suddenly stretched out his hand and said loudly:
"Look, it's Professor Sprout! She's hiding there! β
If he didn't shout, there would probably be many young wizards who wouldn't notice. And when he shouted this voice, everyone looked in the direction where his finger was pointing.
Oh, isn't that standing at the door of the third greenhouse Professor Pomona Sprout?
Perhaps it's because it's so colorful that the already short, fat, and modest Hufflepuff dean is in the background.
"Let's go, or I'm going to start queuing up here like the one in the basement!"
I don't know who turned around, and many of the students hurriedly followed the road where they had just come. Sure enough, more students could be seen walking in the gaps in the Christmas forest, and everyone wanted to see the Christmas performances of the plants.
So, everyone hurriedly walked among the flowers and bones that had not yet bloomed, and rushed to the door of the greenhouse.
"Oh, little girls and boys, don't worry...... "Everyone's going inside," Sprout said happily today, with a smile on his face all the time, "Come, a Santa hat for each of youβthey're made of velvet fibers, and they're warmer than animal fur!" β
Harry moved forward with the group, and when it was his turn, Sprout shoved a winter velvet hat into his hand and patted him on the shoulder to let him go inside.
As soon as he stepped into the third greenhouse, a fluttering warmth enveloped his whole body, making him sigh softly.
Immediately, she was so full of wonderful Christmas plants that she had no time to think about anything else.
"Oh, that's pretty goodβRon, you say yes, right?"
Harry subconsciously reached for a pot of thornless red vines, and looked left and right at the small Santa hat on top of the "head" of the moving vine magic plant, and realized that it was actually made of the "winter velvet grass" that Professor Sprout had just mentioned.
But when he looked back and wanted to talk to his buddy, he found that Ron didn't seem to be excited by these joys, and still had a face that was about to die.
Seeing this, Harry couldn't help but glance ahead a few times, and then dragged Ron out of here with some regret.
Seriously, there was obviously something more interesting in the back, but with Ron's appearance, he had to stop his plan to enjoy the Christmas event for a while.
β¦β¦
Harry was looking forward to Christmas this year, and Ron was reluctant to attend because of something...... Compared to their two extremes, Hermione and Luna seemed much calmer.
At this moment, they were both in the library, each looking down at a stack of books.
Even the library today is full of Christmas spirit, with all kinds of interesting decorations everywhere, but they don't seem to care too much.
But of course, neither Hermione nor Luna were the kind of people who didn't like festive activities.
Luna, in particular, even though she seems to be immersed in a book now, still has a beautiful red ball in her hand, with a line of Christmas greetings written in silver ink.
However, just as the two of them were sitting at the reading table and immersed themselves in research, a figure suddenly walked past the table and stopped beside Hermione.
"Duh."
A small rattan basket was suddenly placed on the table by the man, which made Hermione startle slightly.
ββ¦β¦ Merry Christmas. β
A reluctant Christmas greeting passed through her ears, and Hermione quickly turned her head to look, only to find that it was Mrs. Pince, the librarian, who had put down the basket!
"Uh...... Oh, Merry Christmas, ma'am. β
Hermione politely replied, and then watched as the other man walked towards Luna again, placing the same small basket as well.
It's just that in Mrs. Pince's cold expression as always, there is obviously more heartfelt annoyance today.
ββ¦β¦ Merry Christmas. β
"Thank you, you're such a nice guy...... Merry Christmas to you too......"
Listening to Luna's funny answer on the other side, Hermione glanced down at the palm-sized basket again.
It was filled with Duke Honey's new Christmas candy balls, all kinds of flavors. It's not a lot, but it's enough to be savored for a while.
It's hard to imagine that Mrs. Pince, who is eager to chase after someone eating snacks in the library on weekdays, will actually give them Christmas candy today?
But the thought of the look on Mrs. Pince's face just now made it clear that it must have been the result of Professor McGonagall's special instructions. Otherwise, I'm afraid it won't even work if Maca says it.
As she pondered, Hermione suddenly noticed that there seemed to be something stuck under the candy blue, and she immediately lifted the basket and looked down.
"Warning: This candy may only be eaten (in capital letters) at the reading table."
She pursed her lips and put down the basket and pushed it aside.
But when Hermione saw out of the corner of her eye that Luna had already eaten happily, and Mrs. Pince was looking at Luna with even more annoyed eyes, she simply grabbed a pink candy ball, threw it in her mouth and chewed it.
"Oh! Damn, I'll go and change to colorful stone candy at noon! See if you dare to chew! β
Mrs. Pince looked at Hermione with fiery eyes, clucking a mouthful of teeth.
In any case, even the library, which usually only has books, has the smell of Christmas, which shows how thorough this event is.
Moments later, Hermione, who had returned to her research, quickly forgot to chew candy balls, and it wasn't until breakfast time that she closed the book punctually at the hourglass's prompt and put it back on the shelves to prepare for the auditorium.
As she passed by the reading table again, she saw that Luna still didn't seem to have any plans to finish, and couldn't help but reach out and pat the other person's shoulder.
"It's time to go for breakfast."
Luna looked up suddenly, looking at Hermione in a bit of a daze, before suddenly nodding her head after a few seconds.
"Oh, thank you, Hermione!" She happily said, "Christmas pudding! I've heard that every meal today will have a different flavor of Christmas pudding β if it weren't for you, I might have missed the morning variety! β
"Well, no thanks......"
Hermione blinked, then said no more and went to the door first.
Luna watched her hurry away until she couldn't see the other anymore, then she stood up and picked up the things on the table. Not long after, she grabbed the red Christmas ball in her hand and ran out into the corridor with a bouncy in her mouth, humming softly to the melody of "Red-Nosed Reindeer".
Behind her, Mrs. Pince finally couldn't hold back and screamed:
"Don't jump! Bunnies are not welcome in the library! β
