Chapter 52: Death

Late at night.

Peggy stayed in the room next to the alchemy workshop, opened the locked drawer, and pulled out her diary.

It chronicles all of her thoughts, starting with her first transcendent gathering, her confusion about the future and her life, her fears after becoming a Bloodline, her conversations and impressions with her new companions, and ......

Affection for Asker.

From the initial vigilance and exploitation, to the gradual tacit understanding, then trust and dependence, to the intimacy of the moment, until she can confirm her inner feelings.

For a whole year, it happened to fill an entire diary.

There were many, many words, but she didn't actually have the courage to say them to the head of the regiment, so she could only secretly write them in her diary. In the days that followed, the blood girl would still feel shy and blush, but more of them would be sweet fantasies and thoughts.

On the last page of the diary, she wrote:

I hope to have a pair of children in the future.

Boy, I want to teach him how to use swords, but not to make him a mercenary, but to give him a strong physique and the strength to save others.

For girls, I will teach her simple pharmacy and the knowledge of dispensing toxins so that she can live a self-sufficient and prosperous life in the future.

In terms of names, it is okay to name them according to Armenian customs, or according to the culture of Siris.

If it's the latter, hopefully they'll have the surname Achilles.

Peggy stared at the last line of text, a tremor of unease in her heart. She wasn't sure if Asker would understand the meaning of the confession, but she was even more afraid that he would reject it outright.

But judging from the temptation of the first kiss last time, it shouldn't be...... Right?

Peggy closed the journal and clenched her fist and swung it down, as if to cheer herself up.

She had already decided to give him her diary.

He also revealed all his thoughts in front of him.

Come on, Peggy! Opportunities only belong to girls with courage!

With one last word to the mirror on the wall, Peggy pushed the door open and left the alchemy workshop, heading in the direction of the manor.

From a distance, she saw Asker just leave the main entrance of the manor.

Peggy subconsciously wanted to stop him, but she was afraid that the girls inside would hear her, so after a little hesitation, Asker's figure disappeared.

It seems to have teleported back to the main plane.

So Peggy also teleported back to the main plane and returned to the town where the Emperor ** team was stationed.

Today, it is Sidlifa who is in charge of guarding the ancient books. Peggy flashed into the bedroom, and saw Sidlifa lying on the bed, seemingly falling into some kind of sweet sleep.

On the other side, the door to the room was open, and Aske had probably just gone out.

Peggy hesitated for a moment, then turned and walked outside, when she suddenly heard Sidlifa's voice behind her:

"Is that really good?"

Peggy suddenly turned her head and saw that Sidlifa had sat up from the bed, her long, almost milky white pale blonde hair draped over her shoulders, and her transparent pupils reflected Peggy's petite figure.

"Since the head of the regiment chose to go out late at night, there must be something he doesn't want us to know." Her tone had a certain nonchalant and ethereal tone that made Peggy a little uncomfortable, "Are you really sure you want to follow him?" ”

"I'm looking for something for him." Peggy bit her lower lip, "It's none of your business. ”

"Yes, it has nothing to do with me." Sidlifa said lightly, pulled up the quilt and lay down again, "If you've decided, then you can go." ”

Peggy stared at her for a long time, turned around and was about to go out, only to hear another say behind her:

"Help me close the door, thanks."

Closing the door with her hand, Peggy quietly rushed out of the room, and quickly scanned the surroundings to see Asker's figure on the path out of the city.

He's going to ...... Why?

Since there is a curfew system in the town, the streets are full of patrolling soldiers. Asker's route was ingenious, almost avoiding the route of most of the guards, and finally left the town quietly.

Peggy, on the other hand, simply turned into a bat, dotting his figure from the sky.

From this direction, it seems that he is going to the trenches? Going to Verona?

More uneasiness welled up in her heart, and Peggy wanted to go down and ask the captain, but she forcibly suppressed her curiosity.

She remembered what Sidlifa had said: since the head of the regiment had chosen to act alone in the middle of the night without telling anyone, it meant that he didn't want anyone else to know.

By the way, he also reminded himself to sleep obediently tonight and not to go out for a night tour!

Thinking of this, Peggy suddenly felt the urge to immediately turn around and go back and pretend that nothing had happened.

Once again, however, curiosity triumphed over fear. Apparently, Asker chose to secretly go to the war zone in the middle of the night, apparently not to fight the enemy.

So what is he going to do? A secret meeting with someone? Secrets to the point that I can't even tell them?

No, I need to figure it out!

Peggy made up her mind, and then she landed on the ground, turned into a pretty guinea pig again, and burrowed into the entrance of the trench.

With one hand on his sword, Asker made his way through the still, dark trenches. The bloodline of the master weapon, especially his "intuition" and "tactical" abilities, allows him to see the terrain ahead in the dim environment with just a few outlines.

And the purpose of his secret trip tonight is, of course, to give his life.

Through the brutal methods of war, the "flesh and blood of war" created is full of the resentment of the war dead. Therefore, he himself needs to die in battle once to purify the resentment in it.

Since his war flesh and blood is obtained by crushing the opponent, it is best to find a strong enemy who can crush him and directly kill him head-on, so that the condensed war flesh and blood will be the cleanest in it.

Of course, considering the actual situation, as long as Asker doesn't release water, I'm afraid there will be no strong person in this neighborhood who can kill him in seconds.

So Asker made up his mind at the beginning to attack Verona City at night to make a big news, and then spiral into the sky with the help of the explosion of a large number of spider mines.

The so-called quality is not enough, and the quantity is to make up. The more miserable the death, the better the final effect.

Well? Asker turned his head suddenly, inexplicably sensing that someone was following him.

Forget it, even if it's someone with bad intentions...... Anyway, I'm here to die this time, so it doesn't matter if I beware or not.

Come on, come on, beg for kill!

Walking out of the exit of the trench, Asker walked forward for dozens of meters, suddenly turned around with his sword, and said indifferently:

"Come out."

In the clearing in front of him, Peggy's guinea pig was taken aback.

Did Asker find out about me a long time ago?

So she came into contact with the ability, re-transformed into a pretty girl form, and pretended to be stupid:

"That, Commander......"

Before she could finish speaking, she saw Asker's pupils shrink suddenly, and his figure rushed towards her in an instant.

No, it's ...... There are enemies behind you!

With the awareness cultivated from long-term fighting, Peggy subconsciously leaned down and threw herself forward, trying to dodge the sound of the wind coming from behind.

Then, she was held in Asker's arms.
