Section 58 Journey to the Underworld
The fifty-ninth day into the eternal world.
The old grandmother gave everyone a way to fight the heat, and that was to go underground. The Underworld is resilient to high temperatures. The temperature is really restless, so this method is adopted.
Wolfgang objected, he was the only one who had ever been underground and knew the dangers beneath the surface, and it just so happened that he was a man who was extremely afraid of the dark. However, Wilson thought that since the Lord of Shadows had to be defeated and everyone would have to go underground sooner or later, why not take this opportunity to hide from this damn summer?
So everyone voted by a show of hands, only Wolfgang and Chef Wally disagreed, and the rest were willing to go underground to find out.
"Don't you really want to go with us? It's just early summer, and the sun is so poisonous that in the middle of summer, maybe the sun can melt even the stones. Let's go, we need you too. Wilson put his arm around Hercules' shoulder.
But Wolfgang said that he didn't want to go underground again, he waved his hand again and again: "Don't go, don't go, to be honest, the experience is really terrible, aren't we Wally brothers also unwilling to go underground?" That's right, I was with him as a companion and took care of our base. β
Chef Wally was equally stubborn and refused to go with everyone.
"But, Uncle Wally, if you don't join us, I'll miss your delicious cooking." Willow begged the cook, and the little spider chimed in.
But Chef Wally was unmoved, and everyone had to give up. The men who went underground were: Granny, Wilson, Willow, Wendy, Spider and Fish-Man, and our mute Ves.
While the cold fire was still blazing, everyone sorted out the luggage that needed to be taken underground.
"How long are we going to be underground?" Willow looked up and asked Wilson.
Wilson couldn't tell, he looked at the old woman, who replied, "About ten days or more, just avoid the hottest days of summer." We don't have shade, so it's not wise to stay on the ground. β
"Then can we also build a simple underground base by the way? After all, you may have to go underground a lot in the future. Wilson proposed.
"Okay! The Underworld! Walter the little fish-man cheered.
"Good idea." The old woman pushed her glasses and tossed the backpack full of stones to Wilson, "Take it." β
After a morning of tidying up, they basically brought all the resources they needed: grass, branches, stones, some wood, saltpeter, a small amount of gold nuggets, and various tools.
"Have you eaten enough?"
"We don't need to take it all, we can find food underground."
"Of course you can't take it all!" Wolfgang shouted.
So they set out, with Wolfgang leading the way, Wilson riding a bull with the old woman, and they walked along the road of the pond to the east, and continued southeast until they reached the ore-filled area about evening.
It is rocky land, mixed with a small amount of grass, woodland and cobblestone paths, with charred ground and smooth stone mines everywhere.
"This is it." Wolfgang led the group to a dark pit, "This is the passage between the surface and the underground. β
"Do you want to jump?" Willow crouched down and looked at the entrance of the cave, "Eh, there's a ladder!" β
Wilson also bent down, "That's it, it's amazing!" How can there be a ladder here! He wanted to take a closer look, and suddenly two red dots appeared from the deep pit, blood red in the darkness, "Oops! Wilson was so frightened that he sat back on the ground.
"Bats!"
"Oh yes, I forgot to warn you." Wolfgang took out the scary blood-sucking creature with a spear in three or two strokes, "There are always bats coming out of the cave, just get used to it." β
The old lady looked around and said in an unquestioning tone, "Then let's go underground." β
Wilson looked at the unfathomable cavern, and Willow nudged him, "You first!" Wendy giggled as Wolfgang stood aside.
"I'll go first, I'll go first." The old woman helped Wilson as he stepped into the pit.
It's a feeling of stepping on the air, what about a ladder? There was a ladder, but Wilson seemed to fall, and it was dark in front of him.
Suddenly, as if touching the earth again: the growing grass and the saplings, which did not wither; The green trees are as lush as spring; There are also fluorescent flowers that shimmer in the starlight, swaying in the wind.
Wilson looked upβhe couldn't see the sky.
Is this the underworld?
