Baoyu said with a smile: "Actually, many people don't need to figure it out, being a monk is just a form, and being a monk may not be considered a birth, but it is also a practice in the earthly world.
If a monk can be called a monk, then a bald head can be called a monk. The people we are accustomed to seeing enter the temple have not really understood Hongchen since ancient times, and they enter the temple just to escape from the world. What's more, it is in the name of the monk's temple to collect money.
The Buddha once said to his wife, Yajendra, "I am a monk for the sake of sentient beings, for the sake of everyone in this world of samsara, and I only go out to a small family." And Yajendhara, our little family is one of these people, am I not for you? ”
The Buddha did not really stay in any temple, he often went into the homes of the poor, the houses of the rich; He stopped the war and told those who have love to cherish the love of a pure heart and to love all beings with this love. At one time, these actions were considered to be detached from the root of the Dharma, contrary to detachment and enlightenment. However, the true Buddhahood lies in these worldly dusts.
If the monk is not for the sake of everyone, but for himself, for the sake of avoidance, for the sake of flies and dogs, then the monk is not born; And the real realisation that a Buddha should do in mundane things, and realize that he has not been a monk when he enters the world. ”
After Baoyu finished speaking, Daiyu and Tanchun couldn't help but clap their hands and applaud: "Second brother, these remarks are very incisive, according to this, Miaoyu is not a real monk, she is actually still in the world." ”
Xichun thought thoughtfully, nodded and said, "You all have a good point. It seemed so simple, but I didn't understand it before? It seems that I really don't have the root of wisdom, and I have no relationship with the Buddha, but that's it. ”
Baoyu said with a smile: "Sister Lin and Third Sister's remarks are indeed right. Let me tell you a story. A friend of mine decided to go to the mountains and forests alone to live in a thatched tent and become a monk. In fact, he divided the mountains and forests into two things, and the mountains and forests are also the world! In fact, the mountain and forest cultivation is not as comfortable as the world.
In order to save the trouble of washing dishes, he bought a hundred sets of chopsticks to take with him, and the water had to go over the two mountains to get it, because he didn't know how to pick it, and he almost splashed it when he picked it back, and only carried it with two hands, and it took half an hour to carry two buckets of water each time. The mountains are full of white clouds, there are no gods in the clouds, they are all wet, and the clothes on their bodies are wet, so they have to eat chili peppers and ginger to diverge. Others such as rice, taro, vegetables, oil, and salt had to be bought at the bottom of the mountain. I cook and eat by myself, and I am almost so tired that I don't want to meditate after eating. The bowls that have been eaten are soaked in water, and it is half a day to wash them. Finally, when the weather is fine, where can I meditate, hurry up and fetch firewood, and dry it in the sun while the weather is good. I thought I would go up the mountain and practice hard and meditate a lot, but after five or six months, I sat down less than five or six times, so you! I threw my things away and went down the mountain.
Who is going to live in a thatched tent that can stand it? Once, three of their friends went up the mountain to live in a thatched tent together, and the result was even worse, in response to the old saying, "One monk carries water to eat, two monks carry water to eat, and three monks have no water to eat." ”
From this, who can jump out of the world? Even if you live alone, someone has to go down the mountain to buy a bag of salt! You ask someone to work out a person, and you still haven't left the world. The ancients said that a person is 'left behind and independent', and that is very, very difficult. ”
Daiyu suddenly interjected: "Actually, I feel that the real Dharma is still in the world, and the Sixth Patriarch said: "The Dharma is in the world, and it is not separated from the world." Leaving the world to find Bodhi is just like asking for a rabbit's horns.
There is no place in the world where there is no Dharma. Although Buddhism says that Buddhism is about to decline in the era of the end of the Dharma, the Buddha does not talk about the end of the Dharma, the image of the Dharma, and the Dharma at all in the Mahayana scriptures. The Dharma is immortal in the world, and the truth does not change in the world, but it is expressed differently in different places and at different times. It doesn't have to be this image, it's not necessarily this religion, but it's all about Buddhism. ”
