Section 22 The Valkyrie's Harvest
The twenty-first day into the eternal world.
What does winter look like? Is it the freezing weather, the frozen rivers, the cold winds and the white trunks, or the silvery, fiery sun, the warm flames and the hot broth? At the very least, there must be snow, and a day with snow is called winter.
"Yikes! Is it that our crops will not grow anymore? Willow wore a hat and squatted with Wilson next to the crops Wolfgang was growing.
"It shouldn't matter, grass, branches, we don't lack these things." Wilson said, "Except that the berry bush will no longer produce berries for us." β
"And Uncle Wally, how much food do we have?" Willow asked Wally aloud.
"Don't worry, it's at least enough for us to consume for five days." Vaugh wipes his cooking tools with papyrus, which are grandmother's belongings. Wally treats his cooking tools like his own lover: with care and care. Wilson wondered if Chef had any special fetishes.
The old grandmother called Wilson over, and she handed him a bug net, "Take it." β
"You want me to catch bugs?"
"No, it's not any ordinary bug," the old woman pushed her glasses, "I want you to catch fireflies, there are many of them around us, and you must have seen them, the sparkling lights at night." β
"I thought you wanted me to catch bees," Willow snatched the nets from Wilson, who had been curious about everything lately. Wilson turned his head: "So, what are we going to do with fireflies?" I remember Webb saying that his friend Worm loved fireflies. β
"Oh, I don't have such a childish hobby." The old grandmother said disdainfully, "That's a child's game, I need fireflies to make a miner's lamp hat." β
"But thatβ"
"I understand what you're going to say," the old woman poked Wilson in the head with her finger, "Ask less questions and do more, nothing should be strange in this world." β
So Wilson stopped talking and held back his question, but the miner's lamp hat was obviously electric-driven, so how could we make it with fireflies?
In the afternoon, Woody and Webb returned, and the little spider was hungry, and when he returned, he pestered Wally to make him a meat kebab, and the chef made a fire and cooked food for Woody and the little spider alone. The old grandmother handed them Woody and Webb's winter hats, only Webb's hat was different from everyone else, it was light green, and the little spider looked cute with the hat on his big head.
"This damn weather, the temperature has dropped suddenly." Woody grumbled, and he and Webb brought back two backpacks of rocks this time, and some saltpeter, "Ah, yes, there's a mining area to the southeast, and there's some potholes there, like something has been hit, is there a meteor here?" β
"Shooting Star!"
"That thing is a meteorite when it falls, it's not a good thing." Woody dispelled Willow's excitement.
Soon it was night, and the female warriors Wigford and Wolfgang had not returned with the robot WX-78. Wilson and Willow were catching fireflies around the base, Willow held a torch for him, and Wilson used a bug net to catch them, and they always cooperated.
A voice similar to a slogan could be heard in the distance.
"Hey, hey, who's the Valkyrie! Hey, hey, I'm a Valkyrie! Hey, hey..."
Wilson and Willow smiled knowingly: it was Wegford back.
Willow held a torch, and they joined the female warrior. The warrioress Wigford was armed with torches, her backpack was stuffed to the brim, and she was tied to her waist with straw rope loops to pull the bundles of spider meat, spider silk, and spider glands, and a hideous-looking hat, and even the warrioress's spear was forced to be tied to the back with rope.
"What a bumper harvest!" Wilson and Willow hurriedly shared the burden for the female warriors.
"This is a reward from Odin!" The female warrior untied the rope from her waist, "But the gift is too heavy," she collapsed on the ground with exhaustion: "It's too heavy!" β
Wilson and Willow laughed, "I'll go back and call everyone to come and help." β
