Chapter 7: Naru
When I went out, it was already dark. Rohr followed Carl to a square, where many people had already divided into small groups and sat around the campfire.
"Ouch, in recent days, there have been more and more people in Paleg. Although the environment is harsh, the atmosphere for dinner is still very good. How's that, do you have a crush on any girl? ”
Rohr glanced around and saw that the situation was not quite what he had imagined. He originally thought that the gathering of people here would be a very terrifying picture, after all, most of the people who came here were criminals, and the circumstances were very serious. But everyone in front of them sat together, talking and laughing, as if they were partying. Rohr looked at it while he was puzzled, and suddenly he saw a figure, with long fiery red hair, reflecting the firelight.
"Oh, it's that girl, yes, she's very discerning." Karl noticed Rohr's sight and immediately pushed him towards a campfire, "Don't go quickly, there will be no place to wait." ”
……
"Hahaha, let's join in the fun." As if all the people were friends, Karl took his own seat around the campfire and pulled Rohr down as well.
"Hehe, it's good, this kind of place, I'm new to it, and I want to make a few more friends." It was a burly man with brown hair that was a little messy, and no one else had any intention of refusing.
Rohr habitually looked around. Next to him sat Carl, next to Carl sat a delicate-looking young man, and then there was an empty seat, next to the vacant seat was an ordinary-looking middle-aged man, and then there was a thin man with a moxican head, and next to the thin man sat a petite and beautiful girl, next to the girl was Veronica, and finally there was the strong man who had just spoken, sitting between Veronica and Rohr. In the middle of the crowd was a red bonfire, on which was a cauldron, and a middle-aged man with a beer belly was stirring something.
"Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for dinner, so let's tell the story. After all, everyone who came here didn't have anyone else, and there must be a story. Needless to say, it was Carl again.
"It's good, but who's going first." After the thin man with the head of Moxican finished speaking, everyone looked at Carl.
"You want me to come first? I'm going to tell you the story of the last time I entered the Great Forest of Hiclaude. Hearing the Great Forest of Hiklode, everyone was curious, and Karl nodded with satisfaction, "So how can such a wonderful story be the first to appear, it will make your story seem boring." So in order to take care of you, I'll choose to be the last one. ”
"Hahaha, then I'll do it first." It was the middle-aged strong man who spoke, "My name is Naru, and I came here to train myself and surpass myself ......"
"Wait, wait," Karl interrupted, "didn't you come here where sin came?" ”
"yes, isn't that weird? Who told you that I came to sin? Truth be told, I'm almost at the level of a one-star knight, so I'm here for more battles. ”
"That's right."
"Here's the story I'm going to tell."
……
I was born in a small village called Aji in the eastern part of the kingdom of Solanya, and my parents died when I was very young. When I was thirteen years old, I walked into the Red City for the first time and never went back.
I've done all sorts of jobs in Red City, but it's hardly more than three months. I don't know how many years have passed like this, and I have made some fox friends and dog friends, and I spend all day when I have money, and I do some temporary work if I don't have money. The days passed quickly, and it felt like it was gone in an instant, and there were no memories, but the memories of childhood always came to my mind when I woke up with some alcohol.
I lived until I was thirty years old, maybe I didn't think I could live like this forever, or I suddenly found out in my conscience, or I just wanted to vent my dissatisfaction with life. I saw an old man being beaten up in the street, and I immediately recognized him as my first boss after I came to the Red City. His name was Ledo, and I worked with him for three months, and I have the impression that he was shrewd, nasty, and stingy, but he lived very hard and supported his family.
"He's so old!" That's the first thought in my mind.
I looked at the group of people who were beating him, there were three of them, and the leader was Frank, the younger brother of the leader of an underworld in the Red City, an existence that we thugs never dared to mess with.
But I went up and punched them one by one while they were unprepared. I looked at Ledo's deformed right hand again, and I didn't know what to think, and I slammed it on Frank's right hand.
I don't remember exactly what happened to Ledo and Frank, except that I was running away, but I didn't regret it at all, which made me feel strange to myself. I just felt like I had hope again, I was back to that time when there were possibilities, and I quickly made up my mind to join the army. I remember how excited I was when I made that decision, and how I felt like I had seen myself fighting on the battlefield and finally returning triumphantly as a hero.
But when I got to the army, my excitement disappeared without a trace. There are all kinds of rules in the army, and it's really uncomfortable for someone like me who is used to freedom. Thankfully, I was born in good health, and even though I drank all year round, I was still the best soldier in our team.
After half a year in the army, our war with the Landir Kingdom began. But the infuriating thing is that I haven't been on the battlefield from start to finish. I was assigned one of the bodyguards of the Duke of Rebin, who had come to command, and so I patrolled all day in front of the Duke of Rebin's tent.
Later, when the war ended, I came to Turan with the Duke of Leybin. I was taken to the Royal Order headquarters and then I was asked if I wanted to be a knight. Of course I want to, ever since I knew about the existence of knights.
I underwent a year of training that was 100 times harsher than the army, but I still didn't become a knight.
Then one day, I was appointed as a palace guard. But after only two months, I gave up. Because I already felt like I was about to reach a one-star knight, but such a leisurely job was a waste of time for me.
So in order to become a knight, I came here.
