Chapter 31: An Ambush in the Warehouse
The Demon Hunters had apparently understood the doorway, and had expressed their displeasure with the Church's actions in it. But Richard's next words diverted the attention of the demon hunters for the time being.
"Old man, I know there is a tacit understanding between you and the Council of Nobles, but, I suppose you have more concerns now. There have been cases of missing people in the city recently, and combined with the events in the Black Forest, I am sure that a group of Chaos cultists have taken root in the city. β
"And you probably haven't heard it yet." Priest Richard leaned closer and said to the Demon Hunters, "Kyle Mohan recently organized another expedition, and they ventured straight into the Chaos Gate!" β
"What!" Demon Hunter Gang Ze looked surprised: "They really did that?" β
Priest Richard nodded: "The trial mortality rate of your demon hunters is too high, and although most demon hunters agreed not to train new people on a large scale sixty years ago, I think there may be some people within Kylemohan who still want to make a last fight." But, you know, the results are not too rosy. β
"What's going on?" Gang Ze asked, his always indifferent expression couldn't be maintained.
"Eight people died, we don't know the exact list yet, the rest of them came back from the Chaos Gate as if they were confused, and before the other demon hunters could react, they routed the guards and escaped from Kyrmohan, leaving a total of thirteen missing. Now that the Demon Hunters are tracking the whereabouts of these people with all their power on the Old Road, all of the Fire Covenant organizations have received a warning, so I'm sorry. Richard said with a look of regret.
"When did this happen? Not long after I got out of the Black Forest, there was a voodoo shaman in the orc tribe, and his strength was very strange, and my physique could not carry its paralyzing toxin, so you should be careful of it then. "The Demon Hunter's face was gloomy and terrifying.
"I know, I'll keep this information informed, Kyle Mohan's matter was already sent a month ago, and I don't think it's going to help now." Richard handed him a list of wanted mutineers.
"Solve the chaos in the city, I will go back and use my eyes to see for myself." The Demon Hunter bowed his head and said, "Who the hell made such a stupid suggestion?" β

Xu Yichen and Vittoria followed the reluctant Pok and a few people, and finally arrived at the warehouse used for delivery.
Completely different from the slum building, at first glance it looks like a large warehouse that has not been built for a long time, and it sits around the corner, and the unloaders who come in and out are busy between the warehouse and the horse-drawn carriages, and boxes of goods are moved in and neatly stacked at the warehouse door.
Not far away, well-armed guards were supervising the work of the workers with weapons in hand, shouting and cursing from time to time.
"Are those people from the Bloodroar?" Xu Yichen pointed to those with weapons and asked Boss Pok behind him.
Several people who tried to escape separately on the road were caught one by one by Xu Yichen at a speed far beyond ordinary people, and they were kindly educated by the female warriors. After finally realizing that he is now a fish on the chopping block, and has no ability to resist, Boss Polk finally recognizes the reality.
"Yes ... It should be them. Boss Polk replied with a swollen nose and a swollen face: "There are three real masters in the Blood Roar Gang, transcendentals, just like you, we are usually far away from them, and we are not particularly familiar with them. β
In other words, you are just a bunch of deflated three, and you don't dare to provoke these real experts at all
"What about those people?" Xu Yichen looked at Poke with the eyes of a weak chicken, and then pointed to the workers who were working.
"They're all residents of the neighborhood, and whoever pays them to work, that's how people in the slums find work." Boss Polk continued to lower his eyebrows and pleasing his eyes, without dissatisfaction.
Xu Yichen looked at Vittoria: "I don't think we need to scout quietly, time waits for no one, let's just use the Kang-style stealth method to go in, don't care about the workers who are working, remember that the people of the Blood Roar Gang leave a few alive, I want to interrogate them." β
The female warrior pulled out her own flail and smiled slightly: "No problem, I've been hungry and thirsty for a long time!" β
Two heavily armed strangers suddenly walked around the corner, and the guards of the Bloodroar Gang were stunned for a moment, as a gang that roamed the slums, few people would come to trouble them.
Because the Far South is not like the old road, there are adventurers and mercenaries everywhere, so the life of the gang members here is still relatively nourishing, except for the usual small fights with other gangs, there is basically no fighting opportunity, and the really powerful people are outside the city, for their own future to open up a new living space, and those who stay here are the ones who have been eliminated. So the guards didn't react immediately, and they lost the lead.
A few guards at the front first shouted a warning that this was the territory of the Bloodroar Gang and that they were not allowed to approach. The workers in the back sensed a hint of danger and slowly stopped, moving backwards away from the place of right and wrong. It wasn't until Vitoria "hula" and took her [Slaughter Flails] from behind that the Bloodroar Gang finally determined that these two people were really looking for trouble.
But it was too late. Vittoria had already taken the lead in entering the combat mode, and with a single blow with her shield, the gang members who bore the brunt of the attack were completely stunned on the wall, and the brother who was a little behind was even more unlucky, and was scratched by the flail wielded by the female warrior, and was killed on the spot. The sudden battle made the nearby workers suddenly rush to the ground, except for a few people who were obviously much better equipped and turned around and ran towards the warehouse, most of the guards with weapons in their hands actually scattered without looking back.
Xu Yichen and Vittoria exchanged glances, ignoring the fleeing workers and scattered guards, and followed the elite enemies into the warehouse.
As soon as he entered the warehouse, Xu Yichen felt that it was dark in front of him, and the light around him dimmed suddenly, and he suddenly felt bad, the environment here reminded him of the shadow assassin he had been guarding the embankment.
Squinting his eyes and observing, Xu Yichen found that the interior of the warehouse was divided into two layers, and on the second-floor platform directly in front of them, several archers with crossbow arrows were hurrying to tighten the bowstring and load the crossbow arrows.
"12 o'clock direction! Ranged Attack! Xu Yichen quickly hid behind the female warrior, and Vittoria quickly lowered her shield and accurately blocked several crossbow arrows that shot fiercely.
"Be careful, it's not a civilian homemade weapon!" Feeling the strength in her hand, Vittoria replied quickly.
"I think we've caught a big fish!" Xu Yichen raised his tone as he looked at the enemies swarming in the warehouse: "These people are Chaos Worshippers!" β
