Chapter 35: The Church of the Light

It was just before noon that Locke walked towards the church. Pen ~ fun ~ pavilion www.biquge.info

In the distance, there were quite a few people gathered around the church.

Most of them were poor peasants and bankrupt middle and lower class people who were waiting for the free lunch food provided by the church.

This is why the followers of the Light are scattered throughout the planet Azeroth, and as long as there are people, there is a Church of the Light.

They only want to spread the faith of the Holy Light, and to spread the wisdom and comfort of the Holy Light. They also do their part to help people solve practical problems, from building houses to dealing with family disputes and driving out bullies.

In this world, the Church has an archbishop, who is accountable to the Church, and a Council of Bishops to make recommendations.

Generally speaking, the person is already a bishop before being chosen to be an archbishop, and once chosen, he becomes the head of the church unless he dies or chooses to retire. Of course, the bishops have a lot to deal with besides giving advice to the archbishops.

Each bishop administers a region, and their area is generally based on population rather than size, so that a bishop is generally responsible for only one large city, while some bishops are responsible for rural areas.

Stormwind, on the other hand, has its own bishops, and the priests work for the bishops, and they do most of the practical work: preaching, caring for the wounded, teaching children, and so on.

There were also some probationary priests who had not been ordained, and these people could not preach and could only deal with some daily chores in churches and monasteries.

Many people think that religious institutions are scornful of money. Their perception is wrong--- pastors must also eat, and more can be obtained through donations.

The Church of Light is well aware of these situations.

They owned many farms, and many lived in monasteries, where priests grew crops, raised livestock, and other supplies needed by the church, and sold the surplus.

In some areas, the Church also owned land and rented it to farmers, merchants, or businessmen.

They don't make much profit from it, and the church often gives food, clothing, and tools to the poor.

The church also teaches people to pray and, in general, how to be a good person for health and harvest.

In short, in Azeroth, the Church of Light has a very strong reputation, the most representative of which is the Knights of the Silver Hand!

Here, these poor people lined up and walked towards the entrance of the church. There, there are many followers of the Church of the Light, the probationary pastors, who are distributing food to the poor.

Locke followed the procession to the entrance of the church. There, he saw Demitina Quinn, the waitress of the Sad Inn.

She was wearing a white dress, her silver-white hair was tied into a crisp ponytail, and she was smiling and distributing food to the poor.

Locke's face softened.

He had always thought last night that Demitina was the kind of girl who didn't know what to do, so he avoided it again and again.

But his mind has changed now, maybe life has forced her to do it, but she is still a good girl at heart.

Your own preconceived notions are wrong.

"Demitina!"

Locke called out to her.

She looked up and looked at the place where the name was called.

"Oh? It's you? That generous guest! Demitina said nothing about last night's events.

"Wait a minute, I'll be done this later."

Locke nodded, and he stood aside as he watched the girl hand out food to the paupers.

No matter how badly dressed the paupers were, she always treated everyone with a smile on her face.

Locke couldn't help but look at it.

"Hey! Haven't seen enough? ”

Demitina finished her work and interrupted Locke's deep thought.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I saw that you were too engrossed in your work, so I indulged in it."

Locke looked at Demitina, who was blushing in front of him, and said nonsense.

"Really? So last night, why did you reject me? Demitina asked mischievously, tilting her head.

"Hehe, the weather is nice today..."Locke scratched his head in embarrassment, can I say that I look down on you yesterday?

"Okay, let's talk, you must have something to do here." Demitina asked.

"That's right, before I came here, I had a fight with the undead scourge."

"And then?" Demitina's big yellow eyes flickered at him.

"I had some internal injuries, there was bruising inside my body, and I needed to find a priest to treat it."

Locke is alive to tell the truth.

"I can't see that you still have such a ability!" Demitina complimented, and then her big eyes, which had been flickering, narrowed.

"But~ there's no pastor here today."

"Isn't there any?" Locke couldn't help but be a little disappointed, this internal injury forced himself to have uninterrupted treatment every day.

"Yes, all the capable priests went out to treat the poor in the neighborhood, and they also went out with the crusaders to destroy the surrounding undead."

"Well, there's a priest here!" Demitina sold off the hook.

"He won't necessarily help you with these little things, though."

"Who? Take me to meet him! Locke asked eagerly.

"Lord Ethanlien, he is a member of the Knights of the Silver Hand, and he happened to come down from the monastery on the mountain today. I'm resting in the church. ”

Demitina explained.

It's him!

One of the future leaders of the Scarlet Crusaders and one of the causes of the Fall.

"Take me to him!"

Let me see what kind of person he is!

"Alright then, come with me."

Demytina led Locke through the crowd at the gate to the interior of the church, where they stopped in front of the pulpit hall.

"According to the rules, you need to donate some coins in order to receive healing treatment from the priests."

"You can do as much as you want"

Demitina gestured to the chest in front of her.

Locke waved his hand and pressed it on the top of the box, only to hear the sound of coins tapping from the box below, continuously, for a long time before it stopped.

Demytina looked at Locke in shock.

"Holy Light, how much money did you roll." Demitina couldn't help but ask.

"1000 gold." Locke touched the beard on his chin, is it a lot?

Hearing the number of gold coins, Locke felt that Demitina's expression had changed when he looked at him.

Locke felt she was more respectful.

Demytina walked around the inside of the church with Locke, and then she spoke.

"I am a follower of the Light, and if it weren't for the Light's early redemption of me, I would have lost my life long ago."

"I usually work in a hotel at night, and during the day I use the life given to me by the Holy Light in the church to help the poor, and most of my income is donated to the Holy Light Church."

Locke looked at her in surprise, he couldn't understand, could there really be such a fanatic?

Even though he was a patron of the Light, he couldn't do what Demytina did, and he used the Light more as energy...

"So, thank you for your donation to the Church, and countless poor people will remember your generosity, and the Light will appreciate what you have done."

Demytina bent down solemnly and gave Locke a bow.

Locke hurriedly turned his head away, as if he saw Demitina's braless breasts, white flowers.

"There's no place ahead for me to go into, I'll go to Pastor Canon Meester, and he'll take you there." Demitina told Locke to wait where she was, and she walked to the next room.

After a while, a balding man in a white priest's robe, who looked to be in his 40s and had a white beard, walked out.

"I heard from Demitina that a generous believer wanted to seek out Lord Ethanlien to heal his injuries. Is that you? ”

The priest named Canon Mestre glanced Locke up and down, it was rare for such a generous believer to be seen in these years.

"Yes, my name is Locke Harvey, I'm from Quiet Town, I'm looking for Lord Ethan Leon to treat my injuries, I fought the undead on the way here, and I was injured in the chest and needed medical attention."

"Okay, please wait a minute, I'll go and report to see if the adults are free."

Canon Mestre turned and walked into the depths of the church.

Soon after, Pastor Canon Mestre returned, with a kind smile on his face.

"Hello, please come with me, Lord Ethanlien will not rest, he agreed to your request."
