Volume 1 I Don't Want the Philosopher's Stone Chapter 8: The Lion and the Serpent's Honeymoon Period (I)
If Daphany had the same headache as a freshman, it was the stairs of the academy! One hundred and forty-two staircases that changed back and forth made her head too big. However, the Apparition Charm is not allowed in the Academyβand of course Daphany does not now. So in order not to be late for class, Daphany also had to get up early to go to the classroom.
However, Daphany has a huge advantage over other freshmen, that is, Filch, who is known as a freshman's nightmare, has a hard time catching her. There are two reasons for this, one is that Daphany has mastered the illusion charm so well that she can swagger past Filch without Squib Filch being completely unaware. The second is Thus Niko.
Filch was able to catch troublemakers or stupid students like Harry and Ron, in large part because of his cat, Lady Loris. However, Lady Loris was taken down by the invincible and lovely Necole in the first week of school. Not only did he give Nieko the milk and dried fish that Filch had prepared for her, but she even helped her catch several sparrows. Aencola and Daphany, and Loris also turned a blind eye to some of Daphine's small actions.
There are only eight basic subjects in the first year, which are Charms, Transfiguration, Herbology, Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts, History of Magic, Astronomy, and Flying.
Of these eight courses, Daphne discovered that there were as many as three classes in the Snake Courtyard and the Lion Academy, namely Transfiguration, Potions, and Flying. The deans of each side will have one course for each of them. There were only two verses with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Astronomy classes are held separately for each college.
Harry Potter, the little savior, had a rough start as in the original books. For example, on the first day, he was late for the first class of his own dean's transformation class. Ron, the big-mouthed man, didn't recognize Dean McGonagall, who had transformed into a civet cat, and was sassing nonsense. When the civet cat leaps off to become Dean McGonagall, Daphany has a hard time holding back her laughter.
"You already knew?" Sitting on the top of Daphany was Hermione, although the two belonged to different branches, they had just started school, and the contradictions between the branches had not yet been reflected. Coupled with the fact that the two were old acquaintances, when Dafanie chose to sit next to Hermione, Hermione did not refuse. There is one detail to note here, there is no one around Hermione!
Although Gryffindor may be the branch that values bloodline the least, there is still some gap between children from ordinary families and children from wizarding families at first. Coupled with Hermione's arrogance, she didn't get along well with the girls in the same house at the beginning.
Hermione's question was about Daphany's behavior when she first entered the classroom. While everyone was frolicking and chatting, and no one cared about the civet cat, only Daphany bowed slightly to the civet cat. As a result, he was ridiculed by Malfoy and others. But at this time, it seems that Malfoy and others are not eyesighted.
Professor McGonagall, who jumped off, looked at the stunned Harry and said in a calm tone, "Mr. Potter, and Mr. Weasley." Should I turn one of the two of you into a pocket watch so at least one of you won't be late! β
"We're lost." Harry explained, somewhat embarrassed.
"Then it's a map, you don't need a map when you get back to your seat, right?" Professor McGonagall shook her head, not looking too deeply, after all, she also knew what urine sex was on the stairs of the academy. It's just that the students of her own academy are late for their first class, which makes her a little shameless. When Harry and the others returned to their seats, Professor McGonagall turned to Daphany, "Miss Lestrange, I'm curious how you saw through my transfiguration, is there any flaw?" β
Daphany stood up, saluted respectfully, and said, "Professor McGonagall, as one of only seven Animagus in this century, your transfiguration is well-known in the entire wizarding world, and I just happen to know it. β
Sycophants are what everyone loves to hear, Professor McGonagall smiled and nodded, "One point more for Miss Lestrange's outstanding observation and vast knowledge!" β
Professor McGonagall then began to teach, "Transfiguration is the most complex and dangerous magic you'll ever learn at Hogwarts!" She said, "Anyone who is mischievous in my class will be invited out and will never be allowed to come in again." Don't say I didn't warn you! β
Later, Professor McGonagall performed a trick by turning her lectern into a pig, which then leaped into a leopard after running around the classroom. The leopard leaped from one end of the classroom to the other, then reflexively back, morphing and landing steadily in the air before Professor McGonagall and back to his desk. Professor McGonagall then transforms a teaching hornbill into a magnificent crystal cup, which twists and bursts into a flaming flame that swells and explodes, and then reverts to the colourful hornbill.
The audience applauded thunderously, even Daphne, who had mastered the primary Transfiguration Charm. A hornbill turns into a cup, and Daphany can do it, but she can't be sure that it will burst into flames and then turn into a hornbill without any gaps. As for turning dead things such as tables into animals, it's not something that Daphany can do for the time being.
All the little wizards, whether they were lions or snakes, were extremely excited, but then they realized that this level was not ordinary far away from them! After everyone had taken a large pile of intricate notes, Professor McGonagall handed each a match and told them to try to turn it into a needle.
Daphany waved her wand, and the match turned into a thin silver needle with some intricate patterns on it.
"Great!" Professor McGonagall's serious face couldn't help but smile a second time, "Although I have long heard that Miss Lestrange's talent and mastery of magic is amazing, this level is still too impressive. Slyjerin adds two points! β
Watching Daphany finish with ease, and being praised by Professor McGonagall, who is rumored to be the most severe, both the little lion and the little snake are very unconvinced. One by one, they kept trying, but unfortunately, the only ones who could make the match change were Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, and Hermione Granger.
Granger sat next to Daphany, unconvinced to see that Daphany's matches had successfully turned into silver needles, but his own had only changed slightly, with some metallic luster.
Daphany grinned and instructed her on the small details. Finally, before the end of class, Hermione's matches turned into silver pins. It's a little thicker and longer, but it's already a needle. Compared to Draco and Blaise, who only made the matches look like a little needle, most of them only made the matches a little thinner, which already made Professor McGonagall very happy, and added a point to Gryffindor.
The two classes in the afternoon were History of Magic and Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Daphany was struggling with whether to skip class altogether. Professor Binns of the History of Magic is a ghost and the only ghost instructor. It is said that he fell asleep in front of the fireplace and forgot to bring his body to class the next day. It shows how old he is. Professor Binns is certainly erudite, but his teaching style is really unacceptable, and it is hypnotic to always babble in a monotonous voice. As for Defence Against the Dark Arts class, Daphine knew very well what Professor Quirrell would do.
Just as Daphany pondered the dangers of skipping class, there was a rush of footsteps behind her, and when she looked back, Neville had caught up. I don't know if it was because of running a few steps or because he was embarrassed, his face was a little red, and he asked with a smile: "Daphany, that, can you show me some guidance on the technique of Transfiguration?" β
There were only two people in the class whose matches didn't change even the slightest, one was Crabbe and the other was Neville.
Daphne hugged Neeko, looked at Neville with a faint smile, and didn't speak. Neville was a little embarrassed, seemed to flinch a little, and couldn't help but say, "If you don't have time......"
"No problem!" Daphany interrupted him, "Come with me!" β
Daphany led Neville towards the cafeteria, completely ignoring the whispering Slyerjelin and Gryffindor's house.
Morning classes end at eleven o'clock, while lunch is served at half past eleven. So during this period, there are very few people in the restaurant. The two belong to different colleges, so naturally they can't go to the common room, so the dining hall is the most suitable place.
"Neville, can you feel the magic? Or have you ever successfully unleashed magic? At first, Daphany asked.
Neville shook his head a little embarrassed and aggrieved. This was not a surprise to Daphany. Neville was mistaken for a Squib as a child, because he never had a magical rampage. It wasn't until he fell from a height and the magic sent him out and landed smoothly that he was sure he had magic.
There are two reasons why the mana does not go berserk, one is that the amount of mana in the body is extremely low, and this is the case for most people. The other is that the magic is relatively smooth. Relative stability is divided into two situations: congenital stability and acquired stability. Innate stability refers to the fact that although there is a lot of magic power, it has been dormant for a long time due to the system or other reasons. The acquired stability is the strong spiritual power, which can bind the magic power in the body. This is the latter case of Daphany.
A slight tap of her wand on Neville's brow, and Daphany gave a slightly surprised expression. Neville's mana reserves are quite high! Although there is a huge gap between Daphany and Daphany, it is far less than the average adult wizard, but it is already very high at this age. At least on top of Draco, the talented dragon, and Burace, who is still arrogant after being abused by Dafanie. On par with the extremely talented Hermione, even ...... Maybe a little better!
Hogwarts, you're on the verge of killing a genius! Daphany muttered to herself. In the early stage of the original book, Neville was a soft egg who deceived others and hated others. However, after joining the secret organization of Harry and others, D.A., his attainment of magic spells can be said to have improved by leaps and bounds. This shows that he is not stupid, but his talent is not being developed.
Well, I'll do the development! Daphine thought. As her favorite character in the HP series, Daphany is happy to see this brave little fat man shine sooner.
