Chapter 535: Decision

There was another roar from above the city walls, and the officer's chatter of misanalysis ignited Kalan's anger.

"Quiet! Idiot! It's flame stones, not black powder, and they're right here. This is not a cowardly move, this is a sound attack! ”

Kahlan turned his head and strode back towards the fortress of Philore.

"Their goal is the Dream Pool!"

The alarm bells are still ringing, spreading throughout Filol.

As Kahlan left with a group of soldiers, the fire on the walls dimmed considerably.

Jeno then stepped out of the shadows, found a suitable angle, and looked over the battlements to a vantage point in the fortress.

A cliff jutts out into the night sky, and above the peak, an abrupt structure blocks the starry sky, and it is the sleeping place of Sindra.

"Tam." Jeno summons the demon.

"What?" A dull voice rang out in the darkness.

"Take me to the mountain."

……

On top of the front, Jeno, who had just arrived, stood on the edge of the cliff, watching the two sides fight.

The cliff is surrounded by a rugged stone staircase, which is the only access to the sanctuary at the top of the mountain.

A fast-paced line of men in black was killing the guarding Noxian soldiers along the way, sharp arrows following closely behind.

They are the Ionian Speakers, the sentinels of the fortress before Noxus took over the place, and now they have come to kill the people they once guarded, just to prevent her hatred of Ionia from being instigated by Noxus to become Ionia's enemies.

Further down the stairs, a large group of Noxian soldiers kept chasing, and Karan walked like a fly, stepping up the stone steps, and soon left the veterans behind.

In a few minutes, the informants were about to rush in, and there wasn't much time left for Jano to choose.

He looked back at a ruined temple called Darje Ahira, or the Pool of Illusions.

Jeno made his choice and walked to the temple with his legs raised.

The temple opened into a pitch-black cavern, and he let the core glow to illuminate the way.

The stone steps in the cave were wet and slippery, and he shivered, his hairs stood on end, and the further down he went, the lower the temperature dropped.

He reached the deepest part of the temple, the last ten feet of which were rocky and steep, and Jeno slid down and landed in the shallow pool below, causing a splash.

The ripples of the splash recoiled at a certain point, and Jeno let the light of the core shine there.

Deep in the pond, a woman lies there, sunk below the surface of the water, her long pure white hair around her, lazily fluttering in the water, covering some of the most seductive parts of women.

Half of the cave had collapsed, and the other half was barely supported by the vast network of roots of an ancient tree that also reached into the pond and wrapped around Syndra's limbs.

The roots of the tree look like a loving mother holding the baby in her arms, but it also looks like they are suppressing her and restraining her, depending on your perspective.

She could easily be mistaken for dead, but her chest rose and fell regularly, breathing in the pool's water. The water sustained her dreams, repeating what happened to her childhood.

Sindra. This is both her name and an Ionian synonym for destruction, representing surrendering to one's darkest fears and anger.

A hundred years have passed, but to this day, the name is still cursed in many provinces.

Why? Is it necessary to be spurned for being strong alone?

No, of course it has something to do with her experience.

When she was a child, Sindra was often blamed by her mother for wandering her mind, and she was often ridiculed by her brother, and grievances and anger had accumulated a lot in her heart.

Whenever she was wronged, Sindra would go to the sacred tree Spirit Willow in the village and cry, which was her last secret base. But once she was unbeknownst to her brother and a group of older children laughed at Syndra's little girl's innocence.

Their actions crossed Syndra's bottom line, and the emotions of shame and anger awakened her power, and the negative energy orbs extracted spiritual magic from around her, sucking out the essence of Lingliu's life.

Having lost contact with the sacred tree of the Ionian spirit, the villagers drove away the Sindra family, and they were forced to relocate to the island of Philo, where she was placed under a reclusive priest.

This venerable priest was named Königan, and he was in fact the administrator of the island of Philo, and each province of Ionia would openly elect a respected man as its leader, and this oligarchy continues to this day.

But after years of practicing according to Königan's method, Sindra found that her strength was getting weaker and weaker, so she confronted her mentor to her face, only to learn from him that this was an intention to dissipate her power in exchange for her safety.

Unable to tolerate betrayal, Sindra was once again overwhelmed with rage, and Sindra killed the Mentor, destroyed the temple, and absorbed the primordial magic of the entire island of Philo until the Soul of Ionia itself was sealed away.

But disaster has been made, and only the dry thorn bushes and ghostly gray moss of Philo can thrive here, and the island, once alive, studying, and peaceful, is now a barren land and a prison.

This is also the result of the roots of the tree constantly extracting the magic from Sindra's body and returning it to Philo Island.

Sindra didn't look vicious at all, and her standard Ionian appearance was so much in line with Geno's aesthetic that he looked at her like this, forgetting the passage of time.

Until there was the sound of hurried footsteps outside the cavern.

Jeno was in a state of flux, and the four untold finally came here, led by a pair of siblings.

He knew that the siblings would have a split opinion, with the older sister wanting to kill Sindra and the younger brother using Sindra to beat Noxus.

But Sindra's most hated thing was being controlled, so she didn't hesitate to kill her brother after waking up.

Kahlan is thrown into the Dream Pool, and her sister survives because Sindra disdains to kill her.

Later, a violent earthquake engulfed the entire island, and the Noxian battleship was lifted into the air by telekinesis, and fell hard, and neither the Noxians nor the Ionians could get good fruit to eat.

The Unspeakers were already close, and even if Jano were to stop them now, the sounds of the battle would most likely wake Sindra, as the dreams that trapped her were fragile.

Perhaps this is because Sindra's advantage has accumulated in the confrontation with the Ionian Soul, so the dream has become weaker and weaker.

Even if nothing like this happened today, in another hundred years, she might be able to break free alone and come to reality.

Jeno changed his mind:

If Sindra was going to wake up eventually, it would be better to let herself wake her up, perhaps in a gentle way that would ease her wake-up gas.
