Chapter XXIII: The Land of the Warriors
The lush ancient trees, the pedestrians on the road, are galloping backwards.
Angela mustered up her courage and wrapped her hands around Arthur's muscular waist.
Arthur sensed Angela's actions and sighed helplessly.
"Where are you going to take me, it can't be an elopement, right? Hehehe......" Angela asked with a curious, but hearty smile.
"You'll know later, sit down, I'm going to speed up." Arthur said solemnly.
After a while, they walked through a dense forest and came to a hut in the middle of the woods. The cottage is made entirely of oak and is small in size but exquisite.
Angela is curious about the mysterious identity of the owner of the house.
"Whose house is this, Brother Arthur?" Angela asked.
"This is Athena's home, she has only moved here for a short time, she is not used to living in the crowd, so she lives in the woods, but she is a heroine among women, she is helpful, and you will live with her in the future." Arthur said as he pushed the door open.
There was no one in the room, but a few candles were lit on the coffee table.
"The candle is still burning, people haven't gone far, let's just wait here for a while." Arthur said.
Arthur took off his sword, sat down, and began to drink tea.
After a while, the door opened, and Athena, with a bow and arrow in her left hand and a hare in her right hand, appeared in front of them.
"Why are you here, Arthur, who is this little sister?" Athena asked.
"She's a little girl in the village in front of her, her parents were killed by robbers, and she has nowhere to go, so I want to put her here for the time being, okay?" Arthur replied.
"This ......," Athena hesitated.
"I don't want to live here, I want to follow you anytime and anywhere, Brother Arthur, only you can protect me." Angela tugged at the corner of Arthur's coat and pleaded.
"My duty is to protect the entire land of warriors, not just you, so it's decided, if you don't obey, I'll turn my face!" Arthur's words were cold.
"Since you have nowhere to go, it's not interesting for me to live alone, little sister, you can stay, my sister can also protect you!" Athena said.
"Yes, your sister Athena, she also won the championship this year." Arthur added.
"Alright then, Brother Arthur, then you must come to see me once a week, if you don't come, I'll go find you." Angela pursed her lips with an aggrieved look.
"Okay, I promise you. You drink tea in the house first, and I have a few words to say to you, Sister Athena, outside. Arthur relieved.
Athena followed Arthur out of the hut and to the stream.
"What's the matter, you have to go so far?" Athena asked.
"This little girl, she's not an ordinary girl." Arthur said.
"Oh, how is it not ordinary?" Athena wondered.
"After she picked up a book, she inexplicably mastered some very powerful magic, and her mood is uncertain, I am afraid that she will be bewitched by bad people and hurt our people, and I don't want to see others hurt her too, after all, she is still underage and has just lost her parents." Arthur said warmly.
"This little girl's background is indeed bizarre and regrettable, but don't worry, I can take care of her and take care of her." Athena said.
"When you say that, I'm relieved. Also, how did you think about joining the Holy Knights? Arthur asked.
"I've always liked to be alone, and I don't like to show my head and participate in martial arts competitions, and I also follow my master's dying instructions." Athena.
"Alright then, don't rush to give me an answer, maybe you'll figure it out one day!" Arthur said.
"Hmm." Athena was slightly ashamed that Arthur had invited her to join the Order more than once.
"In that case, then please, I'll take my leave first." Arthur said.
