Chapter 13: The Western Regions

After saying goodbye to Bodhidharma in a hurry, the young man in blue urged the horse to continue westward. He heard that his country had already been ruthlessly trampled by the iron cavalry of the Tang Dynasty, the royal family had fallen, and the people had been displaced.

Although, because of his great military exploits, he was framed and ostracized by traitors and fled from his homeland. But he still loved his family, his people, and the beautiful land that raised him.

On the way to the west, his eyes were filled with all kinds of desolation and ruined miserable images, which made his heart ache and even lose all his thoughts.

When he arrived at the majestic palace in his memory, the former scene of prosperity was gone, replaced by a moss-covered broken wall, a messy rubble, a desolate courtyard overgrown with grass, and a foul pond with a stench.

The palace was empty, and even in some dark corners, the remains of corpses lay there.

The young man in blue was deeply shocked by the scene in front of him. He didn't understand, why was Datang so dehumanized and wiped out? What exactly is my country doing wrong? Questions kept hitting his heart, and memories kept jumping in his mind, lingering.

His eyes began to flush, his hands clenched into fists, and the flames of revenge began to burn in his heart. "I, the King of Lanling, will definitely avenge this sea of blood and let the Tang Dynasty pay for its blood debts! This ambition is unswerving, and it will not be unswerving until death. ”

The crows of crows on the branches of the trees floated over, like sympathy, and like mockery of the young man's impatience.

"Master, don't rush to the east! The scenery along the way, decorated with flowers and plants, is no worse than any monster! Sun Wukong said impatiently.

"Apprentice, the sooner we arrive in Chang'an, the sooner we can return the peace and tranquility of the Western Regions." Bodhidharma's face was gloomy and unhappy.

"It's only ten days away from Chang'an, why rush for a while, let's find a place to rest, eat some fasting, and it's not too late to go." Wukong sat down, smoke rolling up from under his buttocks.

"You monkey head is always lazy. Even if it takes ten days to walk, it will take you ten months to walk, and it may not be finished! Bodhidharma's words became harsh.

Just between the master and apprentice's questions and answers, there was a stumbling in the grass not far away, and suddenly, two burly demons jumped out, their fangs were exposed, their hair was black, their throats kept making a muffled roar, and there were residual blood stains at the corners of their mouths, dripping on the ground.

Seeing this, Bodhidharma's body staggered back unnaturally, picked up the Zen staff and held it across his chest, his eyes wide open.

"You monkey head, you are in danger of encountering demons for your teacher, and your life is hanging by a thread, why don't you stop them quickly, and what are you still doing lying there?" Bodhidharma's frightened eyes were full of anger.

"Master, aren't there just two hairy monsters, you can just look at it yourself and solve it, and my grandson still has to think about life." Sun Wukong was lying in a weed, crossing Erlang's legs and biting a blade of grass in his mouth.

The two demon trolls immediately launched an attack, and the ground was trampled with a roar.

Bodhidharma picked up the Zen staff and fought fiercely with the two demons, blocking the front and back, and opening the bow left and right. However, the compact anti-type, due to physical exhaustion, gradually fell behind.

At the moment when a demon clan waved a huge palm and wanted to sneak attack Dharma from behind, an iron rod smashed into the head of the demon clan like a lightning speed, and the demon clan suddenly fell to the ground, unable to stand up again, and the dark green body fluids spread from the skull and soaked the earth.

When the other demon saw this, he turned around and ran into the grass. Wukong didn't say a word, threw the iron rod into the air, reversed his body three hundred and sixty degrees, and kicked the golden hoop iron rod at the demon with one kick, and the iron rod instantly passed through the demon clan's chest and plunged deep into a locust tree.

"Now that it's gone, why are you going to kill it all? After all, they are also creatures in the natural world, but they just have some evil thoughts! Bodhidharma said dissatisfied.

"Master, if you don't kill it, turn around and kill you again, what can you do? Isn't it necessary to cut down the grass to get rid of the roots, and to get rid of the demons? Wukong took off the iron rod and jumped onto a tree, hanging upside down with a golden hook and swinging.

"If you don't listen to the teacher's teachings, you won't follow me in the future!" Bodhidharma was indignant.

"Master, the apprentice knows that he is wrong, and he will not dare to kill indiscriminately next time!" Wukong jumped off the tree, knelt at the feet of Bodhidharma, and apologized timidly.

"I see that you have a good appearance, so I saved you in the first place, and you can't kill and act indiscriminately in the future!" Bodhidharma was pleased.

"Got it, got it, my good master." Wukong got up and patted lightly, the wind and dust on Bodhidharma's body.

The master and apprentice duo continued their journey eastward.

Gradually, the dry wind and sand are becoming scarcer, the green grass and green trees fill the corners of the eyes, and the bees and butterflies surround them. From time to time, there are fawns passing by. Not far away, the rumbling of the river was faintly heard.

"Master, you wait here, I'll go to the river and get you some water to drink." Wukong Dao.

"Well, okay, apprentice, go and come back quickly." Dharma Dao.
