The immortality in the Taoist scriptures and the immortality in the Buddhist scriptures are two different things.

In fact, when we talk about each life, we either live or die.

The Buddha came to China and brought a new idea called Nirvana. What is Nirvana? Nirvana is very difficult to understand, and that's because we may still not understand the knowledge of Buddhism. Nirvana is not the same as immortality, what is immortality?

You can also give an example of this, some people often go to the temple to play, but never think about why in a temple there is the Heavenly King Hall first, then the Mahavira Hall, and then the Tibetan Scripture Building, he may never think about these problems, so we call this problem ignorance.

But once you know the order of each temple hall, you find that you can go to each temple with ease, maybe the temple statue image is not the same, but you know why there is such a statue here. When we go this way, we don't go to the wrong house, we find the root cause of everything, and then we call it nirvana.

So what is Nirvana? The simple explanation of Nirvana is that there will be no more ignorance, and you will be able to have a strong understanding of all the causes, fates, and consequences of all the changes in the world, and this is generally called Nirvana. Knowing the truth of everything is called nirvana.

So, what is nirvana? Knowing that everything goes back and forth is nirvana in itself. For example, when we just talked about Shakyamuni Buddha, did he pass away? We read that it is recorded in the Lotus Sutra.

The Buddha has been a Buddha for countless lifetimes, and after becoming a Buddha, he is in the state of transforming sentient beings, and when he is helping our sentient beings, helping the savient beings of our world, when he is preaching the Dharma in India, in fact, after the Buddha's death, he has shown an image to help everyone.

Why does this image appear? Because we have a fate to help us, this is to transform sentient beings according to his wish, and this wish itself is actually a form in the process of death.

Therefore, immortality is a static, the body will not change anymore, life will not change anymore, it is static. But the death is different, and the death is always in a dynamic process.

There is a Buddha called Guanyin Bodhisattva, in fact, Guanyin Bodhisattva has become a Buddha in the past tense, called the Dharma Ming Rulai, or the Dharma Ming Buddha.

In order to transform sentient beings, he became the image of the Bodhisattva, and we always felt that the Buddha was too high, and we felt that the Bodhisattva might be closer to us, so the Buddha became the image of Avalokiteshvara to help all sentient beings.

So I can see that Avalokiteshvara has been transforming sentient beings, sometimes it becomes Guanyin with a basket, sometimes it becomes Guanyin sending children, sometimes it is Guanyin with a thousand hands, sometimes White Tara and so on to help sentient beings constantly, so Nirvana is not the same as immortality.

Buddhism has such a story as this immortal child.

In the past, there was a king in the kingdom of Kansami, named King Changshou, and the great king of his neighboring kingdom of Poranai was named King Fanyu. One day, King Fanyu led a large army to invade the country of Qingsami, and King Changshou led his troops to resist King Fanyu. As a result, King Changshou captured King Fanyu alive, and instead of killing King Fanyu, King Changshou released him and said to him: "Your life and death are in my hands, I forgive you, and you will not start wars from now on." ”

King Fanyu also thanked him happily at that time, but soon after he fled back to China, he raised up a large army to take revenge.

The King of Longevity thought in his heart: Although I can defeat him, he will not admit defeat, and it will not be difficult for me to defeat him again, but he will never be convinced in his heart, and war is an evil act. I will overcome him, and he will overcome me, and I will do him harm, and he will do me harm. How unworthy is it for him to devroach my land and to make him and my people suffer?

King Changshou had such an idea, so he asked the minister to hand over the state affairs to King Fanyu to manage, and he led the queen and the crown prince to take the car to other royal cities to hide his identity.

After King Changshou gave up state affairs to King Fanyu, he and the crown prince went to live in the realm of King Fanyu. He changed his name and surname, dressed in civilian clothes, studied knowledge, learned skills, traveled all over the cities, comforted the people everywhere with music and dance, and sent his prince to others to raise.

Later, King Fanyu learned of the information and knew that King Changshou had changed his name and surname to potential his own city, so he immediately ordered King Changshou to be arrested, and the general public wept when they saw King Changshou arrested.

The crown prince of the king of longevity, named Changsheng Tongzi, was fostered elsewhere, clever and well-versed in all arts, and when he heard of his father's arrest, he disguised himself as a woodcutter and came to visit his father. When the king of longevity saw his child, he said to him as if nothing had happened: "Forbearance! This is filial piety! Fierce, poisonous, hateful, resentful, planting the bane of thousands of years, this is not my filial son. You should know that the Buddhas are compassionate, tolerant of heaven and earth, and equal in resentment. If you come to avenge my grievances and do things that are contrary to me, I can't allow you to have such a heart. You have to remember my words, and you should be my filial son. ”

The immortal boy knew his father's heart, and could not bear to see his father die innocently, so he fled to a forest to escape the disaster.

The gentry and nobles of the whole country of Polonay sympathized with the King of Longevity and wanted to be absolved of his innocent sins. And King Fanyu knew that the longevity king was very fearful, so he thought of getting rid of the bane, so he ordered the longevity king to be beheaded.

After the immortal boy learned that his father had been killed, he secretly came to collect the body in the middle of the night, hid the body with incense wood, and sincerely prayed for his father's blessings.

King Fanyu knew that the King of Longevity had a prince named Changsheng Tongzi, and he was afraid that the Changsheng Boy would come to take revenge, so he was full of fear and could not sleep peacefully, so he sternly ordered the arrest of the Changsheng Boy.

The immortal boy later changed his surname to a pseudonym and entered the city of the corpse, becoming a famous saint of music, and the nobles and wealthy families loved him. One day, when King Fanyu saw it, the king was also very happy. He ordered him to enter the palace to serve left and right, and King Fanyu was very trustworthy in Changsheng Tongyu, and the protective knives were handed over to Changsheng Tongzi to hold.

Once, King Fanyu went hunting in the mountains and lost his way, he and his entourage lost contact, and only the immortal boy was with him. King Fanyu searched for a way, and after searching for a long time and could not find a way out, when he was tired, he rested on the lap of the immortal boy and closed his eyes.

At this time, the immortal boy thought to himself: "This evil king is an exhaustive faint king, he killed my innocent father and took away my father's land, and now, his life is in my hands, it is really a convenience given to me by God, this is a golden opportunity to give me revenge." ”

After the immortal boy thought so, he drew his sword and wanted to kill King Fanyu, but at this moment, he remembered his father's teachings, and he inserted the knife into the sheath again. At this moment the king of Fanyu had been awakened, and he said to the immortal boy, "Ah, terrible, terrible! I was in my sleep, and I saw the immortal boy come here to take revenge, and he cut off my head with a knife."

After listening to King Fanyu, the immortal boy said slowly: "Don't be afraid, great king, I am the immortal boy! To tell you honestly, when you were asleep, I wanted to take revenge, but remembering my father's last words, I put the knife in the sheath again." ”

King Fanyu hurriedly asked, "What is your father's teachings?"

The immortal boy once again said his father's last words: "Forbearance, forbearance! This is filial piety, do not grudge the cause and effect, with a poisonous heart is the root of the calamity!"

As if he didn't understand, King Fanyu asked the immortal boy: "Forbearance, forbearance, this is what I know, but what does it mean that poison is the root of all kinds of calamities?"

The immortal boy replied, "If I kill the king, the king's courtiers will surely kill me, and my courtiers will kill the king's courtiers. If I forgive the king, the king forgives me, forbearance is the root of evil. ”

When King Fanyu heard this, he was extremely grateful, and he muttered to himself remorsefully: "I killed the Holy One, and I deserve to die for my sins!"

He told the Immortal Boy that he was willing to give him all the country at this moment, but the Immortal Boy said very modestly and solemnly: "The king's country belongs to the king, and you can return my father's land to me. ”

King Fanyu and the immortal boy searched their way back to the city together. On the way, many ministers of King Fanyu greeted them, and King Fanyu asked them tentatively: "Let me ask you, if you meet the immortal boy, how will you deal with him?"

One by one, the ministers replied, "Cut off his hands, cut off his head, and kill him!"

King Fanyu pointed to the immortal boy beside him and said, "This is the immortal boy. ”

The ministers were very surprised, and they all were ready to kill the immortal boy.

'Don't do it!' King Fanyu suppressed, he told the ministers one by one the words of the immortal boy to repay his grievances with virtue, the ministers were very moved, and the king of Fanyu also instructed that no matter who it is in the future, it is not allowed to have malice towards the immortal boy.

The ministers were very pleased, after returning to the city and entering the palace, King Fanyu invited the immortal boy to bathe in fragrant soup, wore the king's clothes for him, gave up his palace, invited the immortal boy to sit on his golden bed, and finally promised his daughter to the immortal boy as his wife, and sent a lot of military chariots and horses to escort the immortal boy back to China.

The king of the kingdom of Sami, the king of longevity, who endures humiliation and has great compassion, and gives mercy to his enemies, you should do the same. If you have left your homeland with true faith, and have not explored the truth of the universe and sought to verify the reality of life, you should practice forbearance, admiration and forbearance, compassion, and mercy to all sentient beings, and the reality in the universe is one, and there should be no dispute between you and me!"

Generally speaking, longevity luck is more auspicious. It contains the meanings of birth, growth, source, starting point, help, dependence, nurturing, source, root, primordial, awakening, rescued, rescued, generated, searched, obtained, generated, eaten, etc. Immortality is also growth, making something out of nothing, so those who are destined to sit on immortality have the ability to create, develop, and develop. The earthly branches of immortality all have the star of the seal, which can help oneself, so the thinking is particularly active in the great luck or passing year of immortality, and it is easy to have new ideas and ideas.

The disadvantage is that life is afraid of rushing, and rushing is unstable. In serious cases, there is no foundation left. Corresponding mentality, it is easy to have a tendency to be discouraged. The five elements of the printing star are the star of wealth and the god of food for wounded officials, the star of wealth is the benefit, the god of food is his own ideas and propositions, and the corresponding reality is that he is dizzy and wise, or he is smart. If immortality is rushed, it will not be born, but because of its own rash actions, it will bring defeat and blows.

But in reality, the term "immortality" is used separately. Immortality refers to our body, and immortality refers to our spirituality. As the saying goes, the body is the capital of the revolution, and the practice of learning the Tao is also to use the body to act, if the body is constantly sick and disasters are frequent, not to mention the Tao, even life is painful.

Without a body, all methods of cultivation are empty talk. Therefore, Lao Tzu said in the Tao Te Ching: "I have great trouble, for I have a body, and I have no body, what trouble do I have?" Therefore, the ancestors of the past generations have all become immortals, or feathers and ascend to immortals, the body remains in the world, and the spirituality is ranked in the immortal class, and from then on, "there is no body and no trouble"

Ancient people experimented with various methods to achieve this goal: they either ate dew and air, took deep breaths towards the sun or sky at the designated time of the day, or ingested a plant or mineral that symbolized cleanliness, such as chrysanthemum, jade, gold, dansha, etc.

Or they just want to fly lightly, and they don't even eat grains, and drink only the air and eat immortal medicine; or they eat immortal medicine while studying immortal medicine; those who are a little more anxious adopt the method of "stoning", a fire and a sword, self-immolation and self-cutting, and send their souls to the sky, thinking that they will live in the paradise of heaven and live forever.

They use all of the above methods to seek immortality, and sometimes they have a small benefit for their health, but they often inevitably go into the devil's path, and as a result, they incur a short life.

Of course, if you want to live forever, the easiest way is to take immortal medicine.

If there really is such a miracle elixir, easy to obtain and easy to refine, it is the general gospel of mankind, but it is a pity that many elixirs, although the secret recipe of the ancient books have already been disclosed, but the raw materials are very difficult to get their hands on, and some of them are also difficult to refine, so until now, it seems that no one has achieved results.

For example, Baopuzi recorded many secret recipes for immortal medicines. It is said that walking in the deep mountains, see seven or eight inches long villain sitting in a car, riding a horse by, this is the so-called "meat zhi", do not miss the opportunity, should quickly use the wizard method or the pace of the Yu master to control the water, tiptoe, quietly walked to their back, caught them, just like this to eat alive with the belt bones to eat the belly, soon can be expected to ascend to the immortal in the daytime.

He also said that if you go and find a toad that has lived for 10,000 years and a bat that has lived for a thousand years, dry it and grind it into powder and take it regularly, you can teach people to live to 40,000 years. It is also said that there is a beast called "Wind Beast", which is shaped like a leopard and is blue, but it is only the size of a raccoon cat, and it is born in the great forest of the South China Sea. He opened his snare and pounced on it, and then took a few carts of firewood to burn it, and when the wood was finished, it was still fine in the ashes, and not even a single fur was burned.

Then he stabbed it with a knife, but he couldn't get in, and he struck it with a hammer, as if it were a leather bag, and had to hit it hard at the top of the head, and hit it thousands of times in a row, and then he died. But it had one last hand: even though it was dead, it opened its mouth to the wind, and when the wind poured into its mouth, it came back to life, and was ready to flee as soon as it came back to life. At this time, quickly take the calamus born on the stone and plug its nostrils, and it is really dead. So he took out his cerebral marrow, and took it regularly with chrysanthemums, and took ten catties in a row, and he was expected to live to be 500 years old.

The art of immortality has ten paths. It is said to meditate, lower the mind, refine nature, transcend boundary, reverence, break the relationship, collect the heart, simplify things, contemplate truth, and set the truth. If you can solve these ten paths, it will be enough to prolong your life. To obtain the subtlety of these ten realms, the beginning is enough and the words are immortal. But the method of prolonging life and the opportunity to rejuvenate are all tied to it.

The way of meditation, the body is dignified, the eyes are closed, and this fake meditation is also. Those who meditate, in the middle of 26 o'clock, walk, sit and lie down. The heart is like Mount Tai, not moving or shaking. Six roots do not come out, seven are incompatible, the rich and noble are rich, and the poor are poor. No uneasiness, no entry. If you can do this, you don't have to participate in meditation and settle down, you are a physical immortal Buddha.

The method of lowering the heart, Zhan Ran does not move, faint and silent, does not see all things, Miao Miao is dark, does not distinguish between inside and outside, and does not have the slightest desire. This is a true certainty, and there is no need to descend it. If the mind is moving from one realm to another, feeling something, looking for the head and the tail, or quietly seeing and hearing, and showing countless illusions, then the heart will be corrupted, and the morality will be damaged, and it must not be reduced.

As for practice, such as Li Yaoqin. If you are promoted, the strings will break, if you are slow, you should not, and if you are slow and slow, you will have a beautiful tune. It is also like casting a sword, steel is easy to break, and iron is easy to wedge. If the steel is right, the sword will be sharp. That's what it is. Those who practice authenticity are prone to deep understanding and misinterpretation.

There are three realms, which are the realm of desire, the realm of color, and the realm of colorlessness. Forgetting selfish desires is the realm of transcendent desires. The dust realm is forgotten, that is, the super-color realm. There is no emptiness, that is, the super-colorless realm. Beyond these three realms, troubles will not arise, and evil spirits will be avoided.

The root of the way of respect, the Lord has no suitable meaning. Those who believe in it are undoubted, and it is true. If you can keep your faith, you are a sage and a Buddha. Confucius said: Respect and trust, and be a cronie. It can be seen that the saint also started from here.

Those who break the edge will also break the dust edge. The dust is continuous, and it is the most satisfying. All wisdom is blinded. If a mortal cannot lose his heart without honor and disgrace, then the thought of the machine is born, and the heart of the machine is born. Then all kinds of things are done for profit. As a result, they were disturbed, and the dust surrounded people. There is no moment of peace in the heart, and there is no moment of certainty in God, so that it will promote its lifespan.

This is also a big taboo. The ancients said: If you abandon things, you will not work, and if you do nothing, you will feel at ease. Don't show your virtue and show your ability, don't show yourself and suppress others. All feelings of honor and disgrace are not tied to thoughts. All things of life, death, old age, and illness are not taken to heart, and the dust is cut off. The ancients cultivated the way of immortality.

As for the heart, it is another level. The heart is the Lord of oneness, the abandonment of all God. Stillness gives birth to wisdom, and movement is ambiguous. Human feelings are obsessed with illusions, thinking that they are real, willing to be polluted, unwashed, blinded by the deepening, and far away from the road. If it can be new and new every day, it will leave the land without dust, and the void will be empty, and there will be nothing left.

The heart and the Tao are together, and the name is said to return to the roots. Staying true to the roots, the name is fixed. After looking at the root, his heart is calm. There is nothing to see inside, nothing to do outside, no dirt and impurity, no reputation, no wisdom or foolishness, no harm to invade, abide by it, abide by it, abide by it, and rest from time to time, this is wisdom.

The husband's heart is still in the eyes, the dust is in the eyes, the eyes are often restless, the little things are hazy, the heart is often uncertain, unstable, the deeper his illness is, it is easy to be treated with it, the order is not moving, the harmony is skillful, and he is at ease. No day and no night, go to sit and lie down, respond to things, focus on peace, if the heart is settled, continue to recuperate, do not make troubles, less comfortable, gradually tame, but benefit Qingyuan, this is the way to collect the heart.

Those who are simple are said to be unsuitable for everything. If you are wrong in your food, you will be in your clothes, you will be in your wealth, and you will be in a famous position, all of which are good for fun, and those who are enough to disturb my mind should be avoided. That's it.

One sleep and one meal, profit and loss are sent. Every word and action will lead to blessings and misfortunes. Those who can foresee will always guard against the subtleties and disappear into the invisible. However, there are things that cannot be wasted, and there are things that cannot be discarded, and they are also accepted with humility. Don't be disturbed, irritable, and sick to yourself. The most difficult thing to get rid of is lust. When you know that color is born from thinking, if you don't want to live, there will be no color in the end. Color is emptiness, and thinking is illusion. The heart is cold, and nothing will be removed. Those who have true insight have already seen through it and are not harmed by it. Therefore, it is said that the true viewer is also the foresight of the master.

The husband is the one who repays the world, the beginning of the Tao, the success of Xi Jing, and the completion of the work of holding peace. The shape is like a tree, the heart is like dead ashes, there is no heart in the determination, and the heart is uncertain. Therefore, it is called Taiding.

The heart is the instrument that carries the Tao, and the static pole is the Tao dwelling and wisdom is self-generated. Wisdom is born in the inherent nature of nature, so it is said that there is no light. Faint because of the turmoil, calm and bright. Wisdom is clear, don't hurt by wisdom, wisdom is not wisdom, and it is difficult to be born without using it. Since ancient times, there are many people who forget their shapes, and few people who forget their names.

If you don't use it, you forget your name. Zhuangzi said: Cultivate knowledge with tranquility. Knowing life without knowing is also called knowing and nurturing Tian. Knowing and caring for Tian, and rationalizing its nature. Wisdom is wisdom, and harmony is morality. Knowing that you don't need to be at ease, and the Tao is virtuous. Knowing these ten paths, the secret of immortality is exhausted. If this can be done, it is not difficult for the land immortals to be killed.

Taoist monks are different from Buddhism, Buddhism practices for life and death, while Taoism cultivates immortality.

Some of them are very sophisticated, and they also have an arhat body, and some arhat bodies have lived in the mountains for hundreds of years and have not yet died, but even if they live another hundred thousand years, they are still not final, because they cannot live and die. In Buddhism, the Arhats who cultivate the liberation of life and death must break off the two confusions of thinking, be able to give up their bodies, ignore this body, not be afraid of suffering, cultivate the three karma of self-cultivation, mouth and mind, and purify the six roots, so as to be free from the suffering of birth, old age, and death.

The old man Qingyuan said: I am two hundred and fifty years old, and my actions are not declining, and people think that I am a god. The length of the husband's life is also the endowment of vitality. The vitality is thick and thin, and those who are not good at nurturing children, although they are thick, abuse and create thieves, it is enough to promote longevity.

If the candle has a long and short length, so that it is the same depiction, it will be clear for a long time. If a long candle is placed in the wind, its embers will also speed up. If you keep the candle in the cage, it will be too late to extinguish. The same is true for health. However, it is not surprising that the ancient people were 100 years old, and their longevity was long and their movements were not slightly weakened, but today's people are not, less than half a hundred, then the dragon clock is aging, how can the times be different, and the atmosphere of heaven and earth is thick and thin?

No, the way of health is different. The ancients had the law in yin and yang, adjusted in the number of techniques, had a temperate diet, had a regular daily life, and did not work in vain, so they could be in harmony with each other. Calm over 100 years old. I don't think it's a longevity. That's why I did it.

In today's world, things are complicated in ancient times, machinery is more than before, its people take wine as a pulp, take delusion as a norm, get drunk into the room, exhaust its essence to dissipate its truth, do not know how to hold it full, from time to time to the gods, against the birth of pleasure, to be quick with its heart, so that it wants to spend half a hundred without the aging of the dragon clock, it can be obtained!

Therefore, the people of the mountains and wilderness are always longer than the people of the city, and the people who cover the mountains and wilderness have a time of work and rest, and their daily life is constant, and there is no fame and fortune tied to their hearts, and there is no mechanical chaos in their gods, which is natural, such as the people of Getian, so they can prolong their lives. If the people of the city have no food and drink, no time to live, machinery is born inside, fame and fortune are disturbed outside, and the sound of dogs and horses is chaotic, the thoughts of wealth and honor are tied to their hearts, their hearts are not at peace, their gods are not at peace for a moment, and they are disturbed endlessly, so it is enough to promote longevity.

Lu Qingxian tasted the public and said: enough firewood and rice, carefree, finish the official food early, do not be shocked or humiliated, do not owe debts and make profits, do not enter the pawn court, just clear tea and light rice, you can prolong your life.

This is the true secret of health preservation, and the good of longevity. If you get this, you can live forever, you don't have to pick elixirs, and you can practice golden pills. Lao Tzu's words say: Don't work for the female form, don't work for the female spirit, don't make the woman think about the cocoon. Lack of thought to nourish the spirit, few desires to nourish the essence, few words to nourish the qi.

The purpose of this is that the mediocre people ignore it. In the past, people said that the way to longevity was nothing more than the four words of thrift and quietness. Covering people's hearts can be kind, neither harming things nor harming people. The spirit of kindness nourishes its heaven and harmony. Lao Tzu takes thrift as a treasure. The so-called thrifty people are not just for money. Thrifty in food and drink to nourish the spleen and stomach, thrifty in lust to gather spirit, thrifty in words to breathe, thrifty in social travel, clean and widowed. If you are thrifty with wine, you will have few desires. If you are thrifty in your thoughts, you will get rid of your troubles.

If you save a point, you will reap a point. The harmony of the peacemaker is the way of prosperity, the harmony of the monarch and the minister will make the country prosperous, the father and son will be happy in the house, the brother and brother will carry the husband and wife and the boudoir will be quiet, and the friends and friends will maintain each other. Therefore, it is easy to say that he is kind and auspicious, and his temperament is sadistic.

The so-called quiet person should not overwork the body, and the heart should not be moved lightly.

Su Zhiquan's so-called Mount Tai collapsed in front of him and his color remained unchanged, and the elk was on the right and his eyes were not instantaneous. This essence is also exquisite. The Tao Te Ching has 5,000 words, and the gist is nothing more than this good health practitioner, so it must be based on the four words of compassion and thrift and tranquility. There is also a big difference in the matter of sleeping and eating.

You can't eat too much, and if you are too full, your spleen and stomach will hurt. You can't sleep too long, and if you sleep too long, your essence will dissipate. For more than 200 years, he has never eaten too much food, and he has been sleeping with his husband for a long time. And not only that, but all small things, people are the most anxious, and they are enough to cause injury. Joy and sorrow, excessive hurt. Talk, laugh and eat, and if you lose time, you will be hurt.

The cold and warmth are careless, the walking is too fast, the wine is lustful, and they are all injured. If the damage is extreme, you can die. The reason why this ancient man did not walk quickly, did not see with his eyes, did not hear with his ears, could not sit for a long time, and could not get tired from lying down. First cold and clothing, first heat and solution. Not to eat with hunger, not to drink with thirst.

There is no joy, anger, sorrow and happiness in his heart, and there is no wealth and honor and disgrace to move his thoughts. In the past, people said: Hunger and cold are itchy, I feel this alone, although my parents can't replace it. Old age, sickness and death, I am alone, although my wife can't replace me. The way of self-love and self-perfection, not paying attention to yourself, who will rely on it, this word is vigilant, enough to maintain the health of the person, it is said that it is not a person who has three flavors, but can speak this.

Whether there are immortals or not, whether they can be cultivated, this is really like a twenty-four history, so people don't know where to start. First of all, there is the question of whether there are immortals, in Taoism, those who exist inherently are called gods, and those who have reached the realm of immortality through cultivation are called immortals.

In the early days, Taoism preached the immortality of the body, that is, the immortality of the body, but later this view was gradually denied, and since the emergence of Inner Dan cultivation, Taoism pursued the immortality of the original gods.

In fact, people are also a truth, our viscera work non-stop all the time, there is no time to rest, so as the years go by, it will inevitably be lost. The human body is different from machines, the human body has a powerful repair function, so as long as we can live according to the laws of nature, there will basically not be much consumption, and most of them can fulfill their destiny.

The basic life expectancy of human beings is 120 years old, which was first proposed in the "Yellow Emperor's Neijing".

The reason why people have old diseases is because we don't replenish as much as we consume every day, so we accumulate and bury many roots, and people will slowly age after a long time. If we can take precautions and replenish the essence and qi by taking food, and guide to dredge the meridians, we can at least achieve the goal of longevity.

According to the law of cell metabolism, when we live to the age of 20, in fact, all the cells up and down are no longer born. By the time we live to be sixty, we have used three new bodies. If you can keep the metabolism of the human body normal all the time, then you can achieve immortality.

However, the immortals of Taoism are not only immortal, Taoism believes that through a certain amount of cultivation, people can be true to the Tao, looming freely, in and out of nothing, and changing at will. During the Wei and Jin dynasties, the body pursued immortality, so Ge Hong's method was to strengthen the body by taking Jindan, but due to the change in the definition of immortals, the Taoist cultivation method was also changed to the cultivation of essence and spirit.

Neidan is a complete set of huge projects to develop the potential of the human body in order to achieve the realm of truth with the Tao. Taoism believes that the human body is a small universe, and the birth of a person is a repetition of the evolution of the universe, which is a process of being divided into gossip by Tai Chi and changing from innate to acquired.

There is a lot of evidence for this in the Tao Sutra, such as "Essence is in harmony with its qi, and qi is in harmony with its spirit." "God is born according to form, and essence is full of energy. ”

According to modern scientific theories, the three major elements that make up the universe are matter, energy, and information, and they correspond to the essence and spirit of the human body.

Physics believes that matter, energy, and information can be transformed into each other, and nature can also affect each other within the same system. Modern science has shown that the person who observes the universe and the universe are actually the same system, that is, man and the universe are one. That is to say, when people return to the universe through cultivation and are true to the Tao, theoretically speaking, they are also in line with the principles of physics.

The most important thing in the cultivation of the Dan family is the innate true qi, which can distinguish the universe and the earth, and is the primordial ancestor qi, also known as the Dao qi. If a cultivator is able to summon this qi into his body, he will be able to change his physique, regain his life, and refine yin into yang. According to the records of the Dan Sutra, the Yuan Ancestor Qi has about these effects.

Because the ancestral qi is the innate qi of the primordial beginning, only by summoning this qi into the body can people open up the door between the innate and the acquired, ask for treasures from the void world, and make their own circadian rhythm resonate with the cosmic rhythm, and gradually restore to the innate immortal realm.

The birth of life needs to be ordered, that is, the growth of the amount of information, and at the same time it must continue to enrich energy, life is inseparable from order, and it is inseparable from energy, and there is life and energy.

The space-time of the universe is not only pluralistic, but also multi-layered. A large universe includes many small universes, and each small universe will have its own intelligent life and create its own ecological civilization. Protein is by no means the only form of life, and the worlds reflected by various types of life and various cosmic civilizations have their own different patterns.

The purpose of human evolution is also to improve one's moral standards and develop one's physical and spiritual potentials, and to move towards the universe of a higher dimensional space. Both physical and spiritual life are the products of evolution, and they continue to improve their cultivation realm and spirituality, evolving from a low-dimensional space-time to a high-dimensional space-time. Until they enter the realm of the Dao, it is an infinite dimensional time and space, and people will evolve into immortals.

In the history of Buddhism, there is a monarch known as the Bodhisattva Emperor, that is, Emperor Wu of Liang. In addition to having contact with the Dharma Patriarch, Emperor Wu of Liang also worshipped another patriarch in particular, and he had only one relationship with the patriarch, and later this patriarch returned to the north, and he also bowed to the north for a long time, saying that this patriarch was a bodhisattva in the flesh. This is the Pure Land Sect's great master Tan Luan who I want to introduce to you today.

Although Master Tan Luan is not included in the thirteenth generation of patriarchs of the Pure Land Sect, his thoughts can be said to flow with the true cultivation know-how of the Pure Land. Later, some people judged his thought to be one of the three major schools of the Pure Land Sect, and he was called the same as Master Lushan Huiyuan. The source of the ideas put forward by Master Tan Luan was later inherited by Master Shandao, and they have their own line.

He also expanded the ideological characteristics of the Pure Land Method, "Three Roots of Pu Quilt", which is also his merit. Originally, he was very ambitious after he became a monk and vowed to annotate Buddhist scriptures, but when he was commenting on Buddhist scriptures, he suddenly fell ill, what should I do if I get sick?

He thought: Human life is impermanent, you have to find an immortal prescription first, and after cultivating immortality, and then promote the Dharma, but as a result, he had a reversal and went to a Taoist priest, and this Taoist priest really gave him a set of cultivation methods.

It is said that a person who learns Buddhism has positive causes in the causes, and he will definitely overshadow the partial causes. When he was about to go back to cultivate the immortal formula, he met Master Sanzang, a high-ranking monk from North India who came at that time, and Master Sanzang gave him a teaching, "Even if you have cultivated to immortality, you are still reincarnated in the six realms, can you really live to the end of the future? So he taught him the Sutra of Amitayus.

Among Master Tan Luan's contributions to the inheritance of Pure Land culture, there is a masterpiece called "Commentary on the Past Life", which you have the opportunity to read and understand. Of course, after he carefully studied the Pure Land, he put forward a particularly novel idea for the Pure Land method, which was particularly well excavated, called "He Li Ben Wish". The cultivation know-how he proposed is different from the "single-minded meditation of the Buddha" of Master Huiyuan, who we talked about earlier, and he proposed that "we can die mainly by the wish of Amitabha Buddha."

Later, he proposed that since it is "other power", then in the Pure Land cultivation system, there are "ten thoughts of rebirth". Everybody is discussing, what are the ten thoughts? Is it usually I recite ten sentences, or do I move ten thoughts, or is it continuous, there are ten time periods, or what? And so on, there are different opinions.

Master Tan Luan put forward a predicate on this, thinking what are the ten thoughts?

That is, when we recite the Buddha, you just have to recite it, and you recite it endlessly.

For example, it is equivalent to saying that there are robbers chasing you behind now, chasing you and killing you, then when you reach the river, you can only be saved after crossing the river. You're still saying that I shouldn't take off my clothes, how is my swimming technique? How deep is the water? Is it hot or cold? This is not in the category of the "Ten Thoughts", which is that they don't care at all, they just jump down and swim forward. Reciting the "Ten Thoughts" with this mentality will surely lead to success.

For a long time, people have regarded "immortality, feathering and ascending to immortals" as the basic tenet of Taoism. "Immortality and immortality" originally meant the longevity and eternity of the physical body, while "feathering and ascending to immortality" further indicated the ascension of the physical body, breaking away from the fate of human beings who must be bound to the earth, and thus moving towards the freedom and transcendence of life. If "immortality" is a challenge to the natural law that life must be extinguished, then "Feather Ascension to Immortal" is an attempt to break through the earth's gravity and the laws of time and space contained in it, pointing to the higher realm of life in the universe.

At the end of the Han Dynasty, Taoism used "exorcism to cure ghosts" and "water forbidden spells" as means to gather believers and help the world, and the atmosphere of "witches and ghosts" was strong. The Taiping Dao, the Five Dou Rice Dao, and so on have all inherited a lot of immortal recipes, but "immortality" is only a goal that a few cultivators can pursue after all.

Even so, the "Attainment of the Dao and Ascension to Immortals", which is higher than the "immortality", has always inspired people who are interested in cultivating the Tao. The Yellow Emperor, as the king of men, was also a model of immortality and ascension to heaven, and Zhang Daoling, the founder of the "Five Buckets of Rice Dao", also used the achievement of "flying in the day" as a model for generations of Taoist cultivators.

At this time, Taoism preached that those who attained the highest level of attainment in the cultivation of Taoism could ascend to the heavenly realm in the flesh, such as Xu Xun in the Jin Dynasty, who lifted his family and ascended to heaven, and the so-called "one person attained the Tao, and the chicken and dog ascended to heaven"; It's just that compared with the high difficulty of "ascending to heaven", "immortality" seems to be easier to achieve and more appealing.
