Based on the effect that this card appears in manga and anime, it is detailed as follows:
Attribute: God
LV: 10 (When summoned normally, you must sacrifice three monsters on the field)
Race: Phantom Beast Protoss
Ultimate: In the Japanese version of the manga and anime, Osiris's Sky Dragon's attack is called "SuperconductiveWave-ThunderForce", which translates to "SuperconductiveWave-ThunderForce". In the English version, it is only referred to as "ThunderForce".
Special abilities
Effect:
At any stage, when the opponent summons a monster (whether it is a normal summon or a special summon) into the field, if it is expressed in the form of an attack, its attack damage will be reduced by 2000 points; If it is expressed in the form of a garrison, it will be reduced by 2000 points. If this special ability reduces its Attack or Garrison to 0, the monster will be destroyed. When this special ability is activated, the other mouth of Osiris's Sky Dragon (the one on top, which is usually closed) will open and release the so-called "Thunder-Summoning Blast", which is called "LightningBlast" in the English version.
For example, if your opponent sacrifices two monsters as sacrifices and summons the "Black Magician" (ブラック·マジシャン, BlackMagician or DarkMagician) in the form of an attack, since the Dark Magician's attack power is 2500 points, the Sky Dragon of Osiris will erase its attack power of 2000 points, and its attack power will become 500 points, while the 2100 points of garrison power will remain unchanged, and this effect will always be retained. If the opponent uses "Resurrection of the Dead" (MonsterReborn) to summon the "Black MagicianGirl" (ブラック·マジシャン·ガール, BlackMagicianGirl or DarkMagicianGirl) and indicates it in the form of a guard, since its Guard is 1700 and less than 2000, Osiris's Sky Dragon will reduce its Guard to 0. Although its attack damage of 2000 points remains unchanged, it will still be broken.
This effect also works on other god cards (with the exception of Helios' Pterodactyl Undead form), but only lasts for one turn.
The attack power of Osiris's Sky Dragon is determined by the player's hand and is multiplied by the number of cards by 1000 points.
For example, if you have 5 cards in your hand, your attack and defense will both be 5000 points. In the rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game, when the number of cards in your hand exceeds 6, you must discard the extra cards at the end of your rendezvous. However, this restriction can be broken with the Perpetual Magic Card "Infinite Hands" (InfiniteCards).
Osiris's Sky Dragon, like any other god card, is theoretically invalid for any trap card that is launched against it (but in the anime version, the game used to temporarily seal it for one turn with the "SpellbindingCircle" of the six-pointed star), and the magic card and the monster's special abilities only last for one turn.
Osiris's Sky Dragon cannot change control, so "Brainwashing: Controlling Spirits" (Brainwashing-ブレイン·コントロール-,BrainControl) and "Changing Hearts" (心变わり,ChangeofHeart) have no effect on it. Other magic effects only linger for one turn
Card prototypes
In the Yu-Gi-Oh manga series and anime, Osiris's Sky Dragon (オシリスの天竜, Oshirisuno Tenkūryū, SlifertheSkyDragon) is one of the three God Cards, materialized for Osiris. In the Japanese version of the manga and cartoon, its English name is called "SaintDragon-TheGodofOsiris" (that is, the divine dragon - the god of Osiris), and the English name "Slifer" is taken from Roger Slifer, a producer who participated in the anime adaptation of the English version of "Yu-Gi-Oh", and is also a famous American manga master.
In Yu-Gi-Oh, like all other cards, this card is played by Becas K. J. Crawford (ペガサス?ジェイ?クロフォード, Pegasus·
J· Crawford: Maximillion· J· Pegasus) was inspired by ancient Egyptian stone tablets. But then he discovered that ordinary people were unable to grasp the power of the Divine Card at all (which could provoke the wrath of the gods if used by someone who was not chosen), and had to seal it in Ancient Egypt. Later, Marik Ishtar (マリク?イシュタール, Marik Ishtar) stole it and gave it to his puppet (a street performer who has been completely controlled by Malik's MillenniumRod) to duel with Muto Games (YugiMutou), hoping to take revenge on the soul of the Pharaoh stored in the Millennium Puzzle. As a result, he failed and was forced to hand over to the game.
In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was the son of Geb, the god of the earth, and Nuth, the god of the heavens, as well as the god of agriculture, the controller of the floods of the Nile, and the judge of the underworld. He was originally an enlightened king, taught the people to grow crops and make wine, and was deeply loved by the people. His brother Seth was jealous of him, tricked him into lying in a coffin, sealed it up, and finally drowned him by throwing himself into the Nile. The ancient Egyptians believed that this caused the annual flooding of the Nile. Legend has it that he had green skin, carried a scepter and flail, and wore a white crown full of red feathers. This crown is the prototype of the Sky Dragon of Osiris. Interestingly, his sister and wife, Isis, is another character in Yu-Gi-Oh, Isis? The origin of the name Isdar (イシズ?イシュタール, Ishizu Ishtar). Although Osiris is the god of the underworld, he is not an evil god. Rather, he symbolized the hope that the Egyptians believed in eternal glory after death.
Osiris (also known as Usiris) is the king of Hades in Egyptian mythology, one of the nine pillared gods, and one of the most important gods in ancient Egypt. He is a God who has been born again and again. He was eventually buried in the city of Abydos, where he was the patron saint.
Osiris was the son of Geb, the god of the earth, and Nut, the god of the heavens. In Egypt, Osiris was the god of the underworld, as well as the god of fertility and agriculture. He begat Horus with his wife Isis. According to the Book of Death, his eldest son was called Beb. Later, he was united with Seck and Buta to become Buta Seck Osiris, also known as Heryshaf.
Osiris and Isis
There are several versions of the legend of Osiris and his wife, but here's a basic synopsis:
Osiris was killed by his brother Seth, and his body was cut into many pieces. Isis and her sister Nephthys retrieved the pieces (except for his **) and made them into wax figures for the priests to worship. Ra ordered Anubis and Tut to mummify Osiris (the first mummy), and Isis resurrected him. From then on, Osiris stayed in the underworld to judge the souls of the dead, and was called "Neb-ertcher", which means "king of the edge of the world".
In the underworld, Duat, Osiris compares the souls of the dead to the Feather of Truth on the scales. Souls that have been weighted by sin are consumed by Ammit, and those who are light are sent to Aaru. (This is similar to the legend about Anubis weighing the heart.)
The pronunciation of the name of this god in hieroglyphs is unknown. The general view is to pronounce it as "aser", where the "a" is a glottal stop, as you hear in Arabic and Hebrew today.
The myth about Osiris, Isis, Horus, and Seth is one of the most influential in Egyptian mythology.
Osiris taught people to grow crops and make wine, and was loved by the people. Seth was jealous of his brother and plotted to kill him. He secretly ordered a coffin for Osiris, and then held a banquet to invite his relatives and friends. He announced that if the coffin was suitable for whomever it was, the coffin would be given to him. A few people tried it, but none of them fit. So Seth encouraged his brother to give it a try. As soon as Osiris lay down in the coffin, Seth slammed the lid shut and sealed it. Seth and his cronies threw the coffin into the Nile and drowned Osiris. This causes the Nile to flood once a year.
Isis and her sister Nephthys retrieved Osiris and resurrected him with the help of magical powers. Before Osiris could take revenge on Seth, Seth killed him again and divided his body into thirteen pieces (some say fifteen) and hid them in various parts of the continent. It took years for Isis to retrieve the pieces, but not all of them. But she still put the pieces back together and resurrected Osiris.
This time, Isis carefully hid Osiris until she became pregnant. Isis's magic did not last long for Osiris, so Osiris's death was once again. The other gods have decided to make Osiris the king of the underworld over the dead, but only until his revenge is cleared.
Horus, the son of Osiris and Isis, has sought revenge since he was born. He was secretly raised on the wetlands of Khemnis in the Nile Delta. As soon as Horus was strong enough, he met with Seth and fought. The fight was long and bloody. Eventually, Horus lost an eye, and Seth lost one.
This conflict is fought in the presence of other gods. They eventually became fond of Horus and gave him the throne of the country. Seth was found guilty and exiled. In other legends, the two gods eventually reconciled and took charge of Upper and Lower Egypt respectively.
