Chapter 63: First Aid Kit

Drifting is mainly used in performances or racing activities with large changes in road conditions, in which it is more frequently used in off-road rallies due to the friction characteristics of the road surface, while other racing cars rarely use drifting skills to corner, because the speed loss is more when drifting over corners on general asphalt roads, coupled with large tire wear, unless it is a special reason, drivers do not often use this technique during the race.

In the final analysis, the conditions for drift are one: as long as the rotational moment generated by the lateral force of the rear wheel at the center of mass is less than the rotational moment generated by the lateral force of the front wheel at the center of mass, the rear of the car will slide outward, and drift can occur.

Drift is the phenomenon of converting the relative static friction of the rear wheels into sliding friction (technically speaking, the phenomenon of causing the rear wheels of a vehicle to slide beyond the maximum side deflection angle is drift). Precise control of the relative angle and distance between the center of mass and the sliding friction and static friction of the front and rear wheels, as well as the relative function relationship, can make the process of this drift controllable.

The method of making the rear wheel slip: 1. There is a negative speed difference between the rear wheel and the ground during driving (the speed of the rear wheel is relatively low); 2. In any case, there is a positive speed difference between the rear wheel and the ground (the speed of the rear wheel is relatively high); 3. Reduce the positive pressure between the rear wheel and the ground during driving.

In fact, 1 and 2 are both ways to make the rear wheel exceed the maximum static friction, and 3 is a way to reduce the attachment radius, separating them because of the different application methods.

The method of keeping the front wheel gripping: 1. Do not make a large speed difference between the front wheel and the ground during driving; 2. Do not reduce the positive pressure between the front wheel and the ground too much during driving, and it is best to increase the positive pressure. Both of these must be met at the same time.

In actual operation, pulling the handbrake must meet the requirements at the same time to make a negative speed difference between the rear wheel and the ground during driving (the speed of the rear wheel is relatively low), and not to make a large speed difference between the front wheel and the ground during driving.

If you want to make the car driving straight at high speed complete the drift, then you need to pull the handbrake in the straight road and then hit the direction; or pull the handbrake in a turn; Or slam on the brakes in a straight road and turn the direction; Or slam on the brakes in turns.

In a rear-wheel drive car with enough power (or a four-wheel drive vehicle with a rear-wheel drive force distribution that tends to be the same as that of a rear-wheel drive car), slam on the accelerator and hit the direction when the speed is not very high.

In other words, in the high-speed driving of the car, or in the high-speed corner, the racer needs to step on the brakes and clutch at the first time, that is, the most appropriate time, so that the clutch and the transmission shaft will not make the rapid braking not make the car suddenly stop at high speed.

However, while pressing the brakes and clutch at the same time, it should be said that when it is slightly half a second late, the driver needs to slam the steering wheel for a quarter of a turn, and then at this time, because of the strong principle of inertia, the car will suddenly hit horizontally, and at this time the driver needs to quickly release the clutch and brake. Because if you don't do this, the car will lose the power source, so that the car will only complete the crossing, but can not complete the tail flicking.

So at this time, the driver needs to continue to transmit the power of the car to the car's propeller shaft.

The driver needs to release the clutch and slam on the brakes, but that's not enough. Because if you do this, you will lose a kind of restrictive driving force, that is, if you can't properly cooperate with the brakes, the car will develop towards two extreme situations at this time.

One is more easy-going, that is, when the car changes its driving state due to sudden turning, the car will overturn, that is, the possibility of overturning, and people will immediately adjust the steering wheel to return to a straight line because of the function of self-rescue, or to ensure that the car does not overturn. In this way, the car will not be able to complete the drift, but will return to a straight line.

The other is called the real extreme, that is, the driver through a strong will to suppress the instinctive desire to save himself, so that the car still remains in a horizontal state, then at this time the car will be because of the strong inertia, and their own power, of course, friction is also essential to successfully overturn the car to the ground, and it is very likely to play a few rolls before willing to rest.

Therefore, when you release the brakes and clutch, hit the steering wheel by a quarter, and have slammed on the accelerator to re-output power to the car, you have to find a brake restraint for the car again.

And this restraining force can not be the brake, because the brake is too hard, the braking effect is too good, if the car is in a state of slamming on the brakes, it must be 100% will overturn the car.

Then at this time, there is only one option left, and that is the handbrake!

At this time, it should be said that the moment the accelerator is pressed, the driver should pull down the handbrake at the same time, so that the car can continue to complete the horizontal under the constraints of braking.

Of course, if you want to flick your tail, you need to turn the steering wheel at the same time.

However, the steering wheel should not be played too early, of course, not too late, too early will also let the car overturn, too late will not complete the last flick of the drift.

Therefore, after pressing the accelerator and pulling down the handbrake, the driver needs to follow the car to turn the steering wheel, and the time to turn the steering wheel should only be half a second faster than the time when the car is crossing.

When the car has reached the end of the rolling, that is, when it has completed at least 100 degrees of rotation, if the driver suddenly kills the steering wheel, the car will complete a 180-degree rotation. Otherwise, the car will end in a flick of its tail, which is the end of drifting.

Of course, when re-accelerating, i.e. at the end of the drift, the rider must not forget to release the tightened handbrake.

So He Qi replied honestly: "No, I didn't pick up the first aid kit before. ”

He Qi thought that Lao Hei was just asking like this, and he didn't mean anything else, but he didn't expect Lao Hei to throw the first aid kit in his hand directly to the ground, and said to He Qi: "Then this first aid kit is for you, you are the core output of the team, and it depends on you whether everyone can win or not, so you should use this first aid kit." ”

He Qi was immediately stunned at the scene, he didn't expect Lao Hei to use his first aid kit for himself.

He Qi asked, "I think this should be your last first aid kit, what did you give me to use?" ”

Lao Hei smiled and said, "Me? Don't I have any blood. Besides, as long as there is you, are you afraid of missing something to save your life? As long as you are missing, you can hit a few boxes, don't we have everything? So, you should use this first aid kit, as long as you can protect me for a while. ”

He Qi made an OK gesture and assured Lao Hei: "Don't worry, it's absolutely no problem." ”
