Chapter 6 Get on the train and leave home
When I was in school before, I took a train to the provincial capital once, and I had a good impression at that time. However, it turned out that my imagination was too good, and the real train carriages were crowded, dirty, and filled the air with an indescribable smell.
Migrant workers rushed into the carriages with luggage packed in snakeskin bags; Those who gnaw chicken feet, peel melon seeds, eat instant noodles, and garbage are piled up on the seats;
"Beer, drinks, mineral water, peanuts, melon seeds, and eight-treasure porridge" give way, let go, and the passengers sitting on the ground hurriedly got up to give way to the conductor.
Therefore, the train carriage I imagined is called literature and art, and the real carriage scene is life. I bought a seatless ticket.
Even though the fare for a non-seat ticket is the same as a hard-seat ticket, the social status in the carriage system is inherently low, and the disparity in status lies in the fact that passengers without a seat ticket are not eligible to sit down.
Sometimes I'll steal chickens and dogs and take a nap in an empty seat where no one is around. As soon as I stopped, I got up, and when everyone was seated, I found an empty seat to sit down.
Although I am poor, I am proud of my heart, for fear that when others drive me out of my seat, they will look at me with contempt or disgust, and I have not experienced such cold eyes.
"Is there any quality? This is my seat!". The only self-esteem of these people in a dirty and messy hard-seat carriage is a seat of their own, and they can only find cheap superiority in the unseated passengers, and they have become superior because of a hard-seat ticket.
The mother and daughter I met in the hard-seat car were clearly the best of the people in it. I don't think I would have met them in the hardseat car if it weren't for their short distance.
The little girl was even more naughty than she imagined, and from time to time she would
"Melon seed shells, peanut shells are thrown at those who are dozing off in their seats. Sometimes an orange peel is thrown at a middle-aged woman who is sleeping. The orange peel fell through the woman's neckline. The middle-aged woman woke up for a moment and stood up suddenly.
"What's the matter, who threw it?" The little girl was so frightened that she quickly got into her mother's arms. There was hahaha laughter from the carriage.
The corridor was crowded with people, the carriage junction was also full of people, the restaurant was full of people, the bathrooms were also full of luggage, and a young mother was sleeping on the floor with her baby in her arms, with only a few newspapers underneath.
A group of men beat their sleepiness by smoking non-stop by the window. I was lucky, there was a middle-aged man next to me who had just gotten off the train, there was a seat, I was the closest, the first to bear the brunt, I took possession, and the people next to me looked at me with envy, jealousy and hatred.
There were several people standing next to me, a few curled up on small ponies. The train was so crowded that it was difficult to go to the toilet.
And there have been countless times when my feet have not touched the ground, and my body has been squeezed and moved in the air. Finally, I crossed countless suitcases and feet to the bathroom, and found seven or eight in line.
The door opened, and a woman with a child in her arms suddenly jumped over the crowd and squeezed in. The mouth kept pleading, the child couldn't hold it back, everyone let it go.
Others are not good at scolding directly, so they have to stick closer to the bathroom. By the time it was my turn, half an hour had passed.
Jumping over the crowd again, I returned to my seat and didn't have a few seats left.
"This seat is mine?" The middle-aged man who looked like a migrant worker said. On such a cold day, he was covered in sweat, which shows how much trouble it took him to squeeze onto the train and find his seat.
At more than two o'clock in the evening, most of the people who took the ticket slept for the most part, and the people who stood for the ticket basically did not fall asleep, curled up in such a painful position, and the people who could fall asleep were angels with folded wings.
Of course, at this time, everyone was sleepy. Because of my height and long legs, I leaned on the side of someone else's seat and my legs couldn't be straightened, and my knees were extremely sore, and then I looked at a man who looked like a migrant worker who was already asleep.
It's four o'clock in the morning now, and when I see this man, I think of my father, who worked at home every day and night until one or two o'clock at night, and was as tired as this man.
The train roared along with a loud rumbling sound, a cloud of white mist from the locomotive that covered the bushes, followed by a deafening sound of machines grinding.
The wind swept from under the car, and the trees swirled as if they were about to be uprooted. The train is cute and hateful, it makes people rejoice and tears, all because of its comings and goings.
It can carry people, things, and dreams, and the only thing that can't be carried is parting.
The train stopped suddenly, gasping for breath, and the clamor of selling snacks began to boil. The black tea eggs, the bright red braised pig's trotters, the brown bread, and the white hot buns continue to appear outside the car window, exuding an appetizing fragrance.
On the station platform, it was tense and noisy. Those who get on the bus, those who get off the bus, those who send relatives and friends, long-distance passengers who get off the bus to move their muscles, and those who buy things, it is like a busy city.
I followed the others towards the exit, and it felt like I was in a foggy dream. This station is not known how many times larger than the station in my home city.
The station building stands majestically, and the façade is divided into three parts: the middle and the two wings. At the top of the middle is a novel large flat-shell roof, and on either side of the roof stands two bell towers with a deep ethnic style stand symmetrically.
The roof of the bell tower is covered with golden glazed tiles, which expresses the new structure and the new architectural art of the traditional national style.
