Volume 1 Chapter 17 Typhoon
Yesterday I felt that the wind was a little bit abnormal than usual, but I didn't pay much attention to it.
When you wake up in the morning and find that the wind outside is much stronger than yesterday, you have to pay attention.
The entire sky in the distance is covered with black clouds, which, combined with the drop in air pressure and last night's heavy rain, are all symptoms of the typhoon.
Although as an inland person, I have not experienced two typhoons, but most of the common sense is still there, and I know that a typhoon is coming!
In the past, every time there was a typhoon, I could always see all kinds of typhoon information and prevention work on TV, and I also felt like I was there, which also indirectly gave me a lot of knowledge.
The wind is not too strong now, and it is a little stronger than the usual sea breeze, but it is also very limited.
But that doesn't mean you can relax, it's giving me time to get ready in advance!
It takes a long time before and after a typhoon to get away from it, and it can take at least two days, or even three or four days, from the time the wind strengthens to the point where you can't walk normally outside, and until you can go out again!
In between, I had to stay in the cave all the time, and I had to cook and go to the toilet in the cave.
I have to say that this is a big challenge to the mental quality and body, especially the psychological depression!
The priority is to prepare enough fresh water and food, and the more well you prepare, the more you will have to worry about being in the cave.
At the same time, I took a detour to pick the last few almost ripe mangoes on the tree, and if I didn't pick them, I would probably be blown to the ground by the typhoon and damaged, so it would be better to contribute to me.
Immediately after returning, I started to make breakfast on the fire, and it was necessary to store cooked food for the next two or three days.
You can't light a fire to cook in a sealed cave, because the smoke can't get out at all, and the end result may be that the food is not cooked yet, and I have already smoked it!
Even now, the wind is not small, so the process of making a fire is not easy, and it took three minutes to finally light the fire with the wind on its back, but fortunately it has not rained outside, otherwise it will be even more tragic.
......
Breakfast was grilled dried fish and cassava, in addition to eating a lot of food, I also prepared food for the next two days, especially cassava was roasted with nearly ten sticks.
Plus mango and three slices of grilled fish should be enough, after all, inactivity in an enclosed space is also less natural consumption.
It took two or three hours to prepare the food, and the wind was getting stronger, a little stronger than when I first woke up.
And I am collecting firewood to prepare for the typhoon, the typhoon is accompanied by heavy rain is absolute, and all the firewood outside will be wet by then!
At the same time, a lot of dried leaves were collected, and the amount of dry grass in the cave was not enough, not to mention the amount of flesh, and when the wind came, there would be a leak inside, and it was expected to be very cold at that time.
In the end, I put all the small things scattered outside into the cave, and it seems that there is nothing to worry about, but I feel that the leaf wall on the outside of the cave is not very solid!
An hour later, sporadic light rain began to appear outside, and the increase in wind was actually not very convenient to do.
But I'm still putting the finishing touches on reinforcing the improvised foliage wall.
The way to do this is to prop up some sticks and add two or three layers of leaves to make the wall look more stable, and the whole wall is already about 10 centimeters thick.
It seems that this is all that can be done, the corn seeds are harvested early, and the other crops are only a little worried about sweet potatoes and greens.
But there is no way, the next thing is to meet the test of the typhoon!
As the typhoon gets closer and closer, the rain and wind are slowly increasing, and it is already impossible to stand outside any longer.
I went into the cave and sealed the entrances and exits with sticks and leaves that I had prepared in advance, and then finished all the work.
The structure of the open wind is very unstable, and the foliage wall is very likely to be carried away by the high winds that pour in.
But after sealing, there is no need to worry about this kind of thing, as long as the strength is enough, it can basically guarantee that it can survive!
The movement outside was still increasing, and the heart was full of uneasiness at this time, especially the lack of trust in the strength of the leaf wall!!
......
In addition to these, he was extremely dissatisfied with his activity space and disgusted with it.
The area of the cave itself is relatively small, and it is even more crowded after piling up seven or eight grooves, and the whole area of human activity is the area of seventy or eighty centimeters wide on the inside of the cave.
At the same time, because the multi-layer leaves are tightly sealed, the darkness of the five fingers inside is even heavier!
I hate typhoons so much now, specially, especially ......
The wind is gradually increasing, and when it gets dark, the wind reaches nearly eight or nine levels, and if you stand outside, you will definitely be unstable, and you have to be thankful for the importance of having some common sense.
If you carelessly ignore these pre-typhoon warnings and wait until it rains to prepare in a hurry, it will be too late!
In the afternoon before dark, when the wind was not strong enough, I slept peacefully in the cave, but by the time I should have slept at night, the wind and rain outside did not give me a chance to sleep.
There were some signs of displacement of the leaves on the outer wall, and he became restless because of worry, and climbed up to check the safety of the wall.
If the wall doesn't exist, I can only use my body to fight the typhoon, and I can't imagine the result!
The whole night was spent sitting, almost sleepless, but the night was not dangerous, but the typhoon was not the strongest, and the strongest wind was in the afternoon of the next day.
At this time, you can only hear the howling of the wind outside and the "click" of the trees being blown off, and you can see all kinds of leaves flying freely in the sky through the gaps. If there were thunder and lightning outside, I would have been even more frightened, and even now I have seen the power of nature!
At this time, my heart was in a mess, and I was worried about all kinds of unexpected situations.
In the end, I felt useless to worry and the insomnia I had last night, so I simply didn't think about anything, picked up a little hay and stuffed it into a small ball and stuffed it into my ears and fell asleep.
However, it is not so much about sleeping, in fact, it is about closing your eyes and resting your mind, and the strong sound of wind and rain makes people unable to sleep at all!
......
Although the wind is very strong, I think this typhoon is probably relatively normal, and it is not a strong typhoon or a super typhoon.
And the center of the typhoon should be some distance from here, at least one or two hundred kilometers. Because as far as I can see and guess, this kind of wind is not the most powerful.
If it is a strong typhoon and a super typhoon, I think this inferior wall will not be able to stop it from tearing at all!
Although experiencing a typhoon in such an environment is enough to go out and brag for a lifetime, I don't want to have a second experience.
In addition to the fear of typhoons, the biggest torture is the fear that the improvised wall will collapse at any time, so the mental pressure is huge.
It's like a person with a gun in his hand, you never know when he will shoot you, and you can't dodge it at all, you can only silently pray in your heart that he will spare your life!
After a day of worry, the most dangerous time has finally passed, but the wind is still strong at night, and it seems that tomorrow we will have to waste time in the cave.
Thinking about it now, I was still a little naïve at first, I initially thought that the typhoon would be closest to me in the morning, and I would be able to go out the next day, although there was still some energy, but it was not too strong.
What I didn't expect was that the strongest wind only passed in the afternoon, but fortunately, the preparation was quite sufficient, otherwise I might have suffered two hungry meals inside.
On the morning of the third day, there was still a strong wind, so I waited until near noon to get out of the cave.
The moment you step out of the cave, the scene in your mind is the image of the unknown hero on TV who has been locked in prison for many years and has rediscovered the light of day!
At this moment, I felt very similar to that scene, sealed in a dark cave for two or three days before I could see the outside sun and breathe fresh air again.
Suddenly I felt that the air outside was so fresh, and the outside world was so charming!
It's just that the scene outside is indeed a bit miserable, the usually leafy woods are now in a mess, and some small trees have been blown off directly after their branches have been blown off, and only a stump is left on the ground.
The trees also fell quite a bit, and some of them broke straight in the middle.
And one of the five big trees in the middle of the vegetable field that had not been cut down was also blown off, and the other was uprooted and fell to the side!
......
I have to admire the huge energy of the typhoon, and the thickness of the thighs can be uprooted by trees.
It's just that the other three trees have withstood the test, and I'm a little disappointed, and it would be nice if they were solved together, and they could directly save the effort of cutting down the trees.
I was fortunate that the damage caused by this typhoon was almost negligible to the individual, and the only damage was the trauma.
Being forced to stay in a cave for two or three days can make people hate for a long time......
As soon as I got down to the ground, I began to pull out a bundle of dry firewood from the hole to make a fire for cooking, and I ate cold food and drank cold water for two days in a row, and my body had already had some negative effects.
Even after sleeping, I felt chills, but fortunately I only stayed in the cave for two or three days.
If I stay in there for four or five days, I'm worried about whether I'm going to freeze......
The last few mangoes were dealt with during this period, and it didn't look like they had been in it for a long time, but there were quite a few things to eat.
The next time you want to eat delicious mango again, you will have to wait another year, and it is quite disappointing to think about it!
There are only a few rare fruits on the island, among which the pineapple is long past the season when you go to the island, and the mango is over before you can enjoy it......
There are fewer and fewer choices in terms of ingredients, and you can only eat two roasted cassava for breakfast, and there is not much left of cassava itself.
After breakfast, I began to clear out the two big trees that had fallen on the ground, in addition to affecting production and life, they mainly fell on the open space and were very eye-catching.
It may also be that there is a little obsessive-compulsive disorder that makes me unable to bear them falling in front of me like this, and it is really in the way.
