The Newcomer Chapter Ninety-Six: Pande and Noldor

Ten thousand years ago, the Clash of the Titans laid the foundation for the rise of humanity. After the smoke of a terrible war between ancient peoples has dissipated, there is no magic in the world. And those legendary powerhouses who were once glorious have also disappeared together, and only in legends can they be glimpsed. Only the undisputed Noldor elves have survived to this day, and their once-glorious city has been wiped out, and perhaps only one fruit remains.

354 years ago – The establishment of the kingdom of Pande. This is the age of humanity. The story revolves around the fertile land of Pande, the struggles of the people, and their leaders and fate. Hundreds of years ago, a great unified kingdom was born in fire and sword. Peace returned, and the country prospered. For nearly 200 years, five generations of kings have guided the nation on the silver throne of Sarion.

In the 198th year of Pende's founding, the kingdom suddenly collapsed like rotten wood. In just one month, in just thirty days, the empire was torn apart. Ironically, it was neither swords nor voodoo magic that destroyed the Empire, but an invisible killer, the Scarlet Scourge (Red Death). Its shadow swept over the people of the Earth Kingdom, and fell like mowing grass, like an assassin in the darkness of the night. The royal family is gone, and the land is unruled. The invasion ensued, and it seemed that it would inexorably destroy the once-mighty kingdom. It also seems that the glory of Pande will remain only in legends. Following the return of the king and his heirs, the kingdom fell into chaos. Many lords claimed their right to inherit the throne and were in conflict. Having passed 199 years since Pande was founded, the truce and the covenant no longer seem to be secure, and the fragile peace seems to be about to be broken again.

In the north, hill tribes began to attack the heart of Pande. The sporadic resistance of the knights fueled the aggressors, who began to venture deep and soon began to lay siege to Ryan. Earl Ryan appealed to the nobles for help, but the ministers had their own excuses. Some of the northern lords formed a small coalition and attacked the besieging warriors of the Misty Mountains. The battle was bloody and brutal, and eventually the siege was lifted, and the barbarian tribes and their shaman leaders retreated to their lair. The valiant lords of the north decided to establish a knight order, the Dragon Knights, with the powerful warriors who defended the city. The other knights and the southern nobles did not show kindness to this news. They ordered that the Dragon Knights must be disbanded, and in the eyes of the proud warriors of the north, this was tantamount to an insult to their glory. The contempt of the other Knights and their abandonment at the Siege of Ryan severed the last friendship between the Northern and Southern Lords, prompting them to declare their independence: the Kingdom of Livingston. And the other remnants of Pande, who had wandered between the two camps, were not ready for another major upheaval in a few years.

In the 202nd year of the founding of Pande, a dark cloud shrouded the southern part of Pande. The Barcos Empire set off a frenzy of invasion, and an army led by the famous general Osa landed in the southern port of Pande. He attacked the city all the way, and the momentum was like a bamboo. Ironically, only a few months after the war began, the General received news that the Emperor had been assassinated, and the Barcos Empire was mired in civil war. Recovering from the shock, Osa proclaimed himself the Overlord of Janos with some of the power of Lord Pande, and broke with the Barcos Empire. The former Barcos Empire was divided into numerous small principalities, city-states, and kingdoms, and the ruling power fell into the hands of the Serpent Cult. It is a mysterious and powerful group of samurai who worship an unknown dark goddess in the form of a poisonous snake. For the once-powerful Pander, this meant that large swaths of land, cities, and lords in the south of the country had fallen into the hands of the self-proclaimed overlord of the abruptly rising general.

In 204 years after the establishment of the Kingdom of Ravenson in the north and the invasion of Ossa, the powerful Duke of Sarion, Alfred, subdued the remaining remnants of Pande and proclaimed himself King of Sarion. After ten years of peace, 213 years after the founding of Pende, the wild and warlike Van Skerry people lived on the shores of the far north. Among them were nobles and princes, as well as raiders and merchants. Due to the demise of the Barcos Empire, many of the merchants of Van Skerry were able to return to their father's Frost Harbor. A wise man contemplated the future of Van Skerry and said, "When the brave drown in ease, death will come with the sword and strife of the enemy." When this word reached the troubled north, it was confirmed by war and plunder. Soon, the raiders discovered that Pande's harbor was a land of abundance of gold and wealth. Their well-armed warriors began to plunder the coastal towns and crush their negligible resistance. The lion knights and the lords of Sarion patrol the coast to guard against surprise attacks. However, the cunning Van Skerry raiders continued to succeed. Unable to defend themselves, the merchant leaders of the coastal provinces of Pander had no choice but to send envoys to the princes of Van Skerry for protection. At first, they were rejected. But when the conditions were offered included the title of Pande and the territory, the princes became interested. Compared to the fertile pastures of Pande, the land of Van Skerry is barren and cold. And the pleasant climate, becoming the owner of the castle and even the ruler of the city impressed them even more deeply. Soon, lured by wealth, many of the Van Skerry families left their father's harbor and moved to the shores of Pander. Some of them went under Lord Pande, others married into noble families. The introduction of Van Skerry's martial arts culture and customs into the Coastal Lords' families caused upheaval within the kingdom. After a few generations, cultural differences became a chasm, causing the coastal aristocracy to withdraw from the Kingdom of Sarion and form an unstable alliance of city-states, collectively known as Fieldsway.

Pande was founded from 204 to 245. Conspiracy, war, and feats are constantly staged, and all kinds of treacherous faces are repeatedly presented. This is the story of a tribe named Gatu, who broke away from the control of the empire and Osa and wandered the eastern steppes of Pande. There are also stories of the Lion Knights, and how they were betrayed and declared a rebel by one of their former members, and it took years to be forgiven by the current King of Sarion. It takes a few chapters to tell the story of Daxia. The nomadic people evolved into a military-economic group, only to discover that their worst enemy was themselves. This is as fascinating as the chronicled adventures with the Noldor and their powerful weapons and spells that have changed the lives of countless adventurers. And the story of Madigan is of particular interest to me. This wandering mystic prophesied that a hero would rule the rivers and mountains and restore the glory of his homeland. His feat was as moving as the words themselves: for preaching the truth, he was put to death for sticking to his ideas.

In the 354th year of Pande's reign, the prophecy began to come true.

To the north, the Kingdom of Livingston sits on the southern slopes of the impassable Misty Mountains. Their enthusiastic and proud people have long since adapted to the harsh northern climate. The current ruler of the kingdom of Livingston is Gregory IV, the great-grandson of Gregory I, who rushed to the forefront of the battle and drove the northern barbarians back to his lair in the Misty Mountains. Since then, Livingston has been resilient to the continued onslaught of the bloodthirsty horde. The lords of Livingston are formidable warriors, but at the same time they are unruly and loners. And their culture of respecting the strong and advocating competition has brought their personal martial arts to the extreme, making them unstoppable in fighting alone, but lacking discipline. As the best of the Livingston nobility, the members of the Dragon Knights are invincible on the battlefield. Like the other knights of the kingdom, these knights did not owe allegiance to any nobles, and only followed some lords as they pleased.

From the coastline to the west was Fieldsway's sphere of influence, and since the princes of Van Skerry integrated into the Old Kingdom, a special samurai culture had evolved. Most of the former aristocratic mercenaries who had fought for Barcos would have difficulty returning to the cold and barren ports of the north. When the envoys of the coastal lords of Pande arrived, many people eagerly accepted the conditions and settled in a pleasant environment. However, many in Van Skerry's camp saw these aristocratic forces as betrayers of their homeland, and vowed to leave the renegade's territory untouched. Regardless, Fieldsway, who was injected with fresh blood, was keen on war and trade, and gradually became stronger, even rivaling Sarion.

The Kingdom of Sarion is located in the center of the map. The current king, Ulrique of Sarion is a descendant of King Alfred I, the former Duke of Ulrique of Sarion. Since King Alfred established the Kingdom of Sarion, most of the Knights have been declared rebel for defending Pande. The most famous rebel knights are the Griffon Knights, who are the guardians of the royal blood of Pande. Today in Sarion, only the Knights of the Lion remain. This noble order of knights embraced Alfred. Since then, the Lion Knights have turned the darkest page in their history, and in twenty years, they have also been rebellious. Now, his innocence has been confirmed, and he has been favored by King Ulrik to become the guardian of the country.

To the south, on the edge of the Savannil Desert, stands the Duchy of Daxia, which consisted of several independent tribes. At the height of the Pander kingdom, the king made peace with a number of tribes who longed for peace and prosperity. The peace treaty gradually evolved into a covenant, and the tribes began to trade with the northern kingdom. Over the course of generations, the simple tents and stalls of the Daxia Plain evolved into small towns and villages. People no longer live in pursuit of water and grass, they settle down and turn to farming. At the same time, the growing wealth made these tribes the envy of the Daxia Plain. However, the traditionally strict tribes maintained nomadic traditions and completely excluded the "settlers". As a statement to the settlers, in recent days, they have successively attacked caravans entering and leaving the settlers' towns, causing tensions between the two sides.

The power of the Barcos Empire in the Old Pandean Territory is now known as the "Empire". However, Osa must have been deeply influenced by the ideas of the old Barcos Republic (a few hundred years before Barcos became an empire) to make a decree to form a council of nobles that would elect a new overlord after the death of the existing ruler or when he reached the age of sixty. The Empire's mighty armies had already swept north through the heart of Pander and conquered inland towns. However, the subtle ties and entanglements between the empire and its native country in the south brought the conquest to an end. The Serpent Cult has grown to become a political and empirical threat to the Empire, and has almost succeeded in dismantling the Empire's ruling hierarchy from within. And many people and nobles have always supported the Cult. Today, things are changing. The current emperor, Marius I, has succeeded in banning all the temples under the Empire. This sparked a war between the Cult and the Empire, which spread to every corner of the Empire. The activities of the Cult and its followers were forced to go underground and seek help from the core of the Cult in the South China Seas. Marius I skillfully reversed the situation and revealed to the people of the empire the uncleanness and depravity of the Cult. The desire of the people to be freed from the shadow of the Cult was the most powerful weapon in the Emperor's hands.

The eastern plain of Pande borders the Gato steppe. The original Gatu people lived on the vast plains by the lake. They are a rebellious nomadic people, skilled in bows and spears. The Cato were natural cavalrymen, and they learned to fight on horseback from an early age. After years of conflict with the Barcos Empire, they accepted the peace treaty. In return, Cato had to expand the empire as a mercenary. When Osa invaded Pande, the backbone of his cavalry was the elite cavalry of Cato. When it was learned that the emperor was dead and Barcos was torn apart, the Cato in the expeditionary force could no longer return to their homeland. So they left Osa, raided several villages, and took women captive, before heading north to establish a second home. As a closed society, they refused to negotiate trade and diplomacy, and the samurai roamed the territory, ready to attack anyone who set foot on their territory.

When the Imperial army began to retreat and claim southern Pande as its own, some of the more nasty guys who had created the notoriety of the old Barcos Empire began to show up. The Red Brotherhood is a secret society that straddles Pander. They are made up of robbers, thieves, and slaves, and they do all kinds of dirty business, trading everything they can find. Sometimes they are helpful, and sometimes they are happy to free you from the burden of wealth and even from the world. The town militia and the lords will wipe it out as soon as they meet, and the cities that have been plundered by it will be as eager to get rid of it as quickly as they have swept away the rat infestation. They seem endless. Note that the different gangs of the Scarlet Brotherhood do not help each other. Pander has a myriad of dangers to be wary of, and perhaps the most terrifying of them are the illegal knights roaming the countryside. These knights come from a variety of backgrounds, some come from banned knighthoods, some have twisted minds with magical objects they carry, and some simply ruthlessly destroy all who stand in their way. Either way, one thing is certain: they are extremely dangerous. The land of Pande is home to a variety of religions and beliefs, most of which are good-looking. These creeds bridge life and death, leading people to a better life to come. A small number of cults advocate destruction and hatred. Their adherents were declared pagans by other religions, and were as abominable as rats crossing the streets. The pagan belief in human sacrifice and other evil rituals is chilling and will turn your worst nightmares into reality.

The Noldor is the only known ancient race to be fruitful. The terrible Titan War dragged on, and the once-glorious city was in ruins. Only one inaccessible place retains the civilization and prosperity of the past. Noldor had been a magician in contact, but the war had deprived them of the ability to use spells that had once been at the heart of their culture. However, they can still wield some less powerful magic on the battlefield, which gives a glimpse of their magical power from the past. So far, no one has been able to pass through the Noldor territory unscathed.
