Chapter 626: Annie
Now, she had received an order from her old boss, Darius, that if she caused enough chaos in the enemy's rear to draw most of the enemy's attention to the east, and allowed the main force to break through the walls, then her promotion to a general would be a sure thing.
In order to ensure the success of this operation, she not only brought a lot of black powder, but also her secret weapon.
This innocent-looking little girl named Anne is actually a magician with unfathomable fire magic, who was adopted by Corrie a few months ago.
It all started a few months ago, when Collie's father was disturbed by the recent fires in the Dark Forest, so he pulled down and begged his daughter to come back with the soldiers to solve the problem.
After many days of investigation and follow-up, Corrie discovered that the culprit who caused the forest fire was actually a little girl in rags.
When she discovers Anne, none of her relatives are gone, and after much probing, Colly confirms that Anne has a powerful fire magic lurking within her. In Noxus, magical talent is a talent to be celebrated, even revered. And Annie's magic is inherently powerful, so Corrie adopted this unaccompanied little girl in the forest.
But what she doesn't know is how Anne's parents died. Corrie occasionally asks about Anna's background, and Anne always responds with thoughtful and scary answers, but Corrie still can't give up the immense value hidden in this small body.
It doesn't matter where Anne comes from, what matters is that she uses powerful magic. Corrie will let Anne's magic shine in this rich mountain until it is scorched to the earth, in exchange for great glory for herself.
"Aunt Corrie, what are we going to do here? I've been walking in the mountains for days. Anne asked the female colonel beside her.
Her tiny arm was held by Corrie, while the other was clinging to the teddy bear in her arms, the only gift left to her by her birth mother, Amoline, a teddy bear sewn in the image of a shadow bear from the legend of the Dark Forest, infused with witch magic.
Corrie didn't stop because of Anne's question, even though Anne was tired.
She picked Anne up and pointed in the direction of Presidium and told her, "Anne, do you see, that place is surrounded by a wall, and there are many people imprisoned in it, and what we have to do is to blow up the wall and bring them freedom." β
Anne looked at her in confusion for a few moments, then turned back to look at Corrie's unchanged smiling face, and asked, "Can I find Tibbs' eyes in there?" β
"Tibbs' eyes?" Corrie was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at the doll in the girl's arms.
It's a stuffed teddy bear, meticulously sewn and cared for. The stitches of the limbs have been exposed after years of pulling. I don't know when or where it was alive, but a button-eye was lost.
"You mean buttons?" Corrie smiled skillfully again, looking at Anne's sapphire-like eyes.
"Yes, I couldn't find the exact same button for Tibbs to sew on." Anne said obediently.
"Maybe it's in the city." Corrie is a good follower.
As soon as she finished speaking, a cooked barrel stick fell from the sky and struck her temple.
The instinctive reaction from years of hunting made Corrie tilt her head for the first time, dodging the attack that might have made her faint on the spot, but she was still thrown in the shoulder, and the little girl in her arms flew out of her hand.
Corrie fell to the ground, and the little girl was grabbed by a hairy hand and quickly carried to the treetops.
She struggled to get up and look at the woods, which were no longer peaceful, the branches swaying, the shadows glittering, and the polished bone armor chilled in the moonlight.
The cold light flashed, and she turned her head again and rolled away.
Sou. Something cut through the air in front of herβtwo purple crow feathers stuck in the ground she had pillowed on.
Immediately, spears and enchanted stones flew out from all directions and crashed into her warband, causing casualties to her soldiers in an instant.
A round of javelins flew out of the woods, forcing the Noxian soldiers to scramble for cover. Corrie saw a soldier stumble as a three-foot-long rough wooden pole came out of his chest.
"Find cover! When the enemy charges, it's time for us to strike back. Corrie got up and gave the order at once.
As she spoke, several more soldiers were sliced open by a flash of feather blades.
She heard a woman's brief command, and the ambushed soldiers in the forest finally charged, revealing their forms, a strange mixture of humans and beasts, like the product of a hybrid between humans and beasts, and in Corrie's eyes, extremely ugly and evil.
She knew the Vastayas and had seen the Vastayas, but the presence of so many Vastayas at the same time still scared her, even if she had unilaterally regarded these Vastayas as more powerful beasts in her heart, but the hunters would still be a little flustered when they encountered the beasts.
"Meet the enemy!" Corrie yelled, shouting and roaring to fill the forest, and the weapons of the Vastayas were much inferior in the steel weapons in the hands of the Noxian soldiers, but with their unique abilities and strong physiques, they could still fight back and forth with the Noxian soldiers, and even slightly better.
She snatched the shield from a dead soldier and blocked several sharp feathered blades, the tips of which clinked into the shield before dissipating into a streamer of light, leaving a series of permeable holes in the shield.
Corrie's gaze followed the streamer of feathers, and saw a bird-footed cloak woman with a nose ring hanging from her small nose, showing a mocking expression to Corrie, as if she was showing off her might.
Corrie thinks that the other party is provoking her, and that the birdman has tried to take her life many times, so she takes off the crossbow behind her back, skillfully and calmly pulls the string and arrows, aiming at the birdman standing in the treetops.
"Let me go! Let me go back to Aunt Corrie! β
Just then, she heard a child's cry coming from her head.
Corrie immediately looked over her head, only to realize that the person who attacked her and kidnapped Anne was actually an ape in light armor!
"Let go of that girl! Give her back to me! You uncivilized beasts! Corrie scolded in Noxian official language, but the ape ignored her completely.
Corrie noticed that Anne was still clinging to her teddy bear, and immediately shouted, "Annie, they want to snatch your Tibbs!" Let Tibbs eat them all! β
