At a glance, there was nothing but nearly twenty potato seedlings and more than a dozen greens that were still lonely.

In fact, the potatoes are almost ripe, and it is completely okay to dig them out and eat them now, the main reason why I didn't dig them was that I was worried that I would not be tempted to dig them back, and it would be too late to eat a few regrets, so I simply treated it as if it didn't exist.

When planting other crops, dig them up and dry them for two days and plant them directly, as long as this season can escape my claws, the next season can also guarantee a yield of one or two hundred catties!

There is a bad news that when half an acre of land was opened last year, more than half an acre of soil was loosened by the way, but now it looks like the soil is extremely compact, and it is estimated that it will have to be loosened again.

This lesson can also be regarded as a lesson for me, in the future, when planting the land, loosen the soil more one or two months in advance, and the loose land will harden after several rains, which is not only a waste of time, but also a waste of physical strength.

Especially when I think that the hard work of digging the ground at that time has come to naught, it affects my mood very much!

Before loosening a large area of soil, the first step is to plant the seeds to be raised in advance into the ground to cultivate seedlings, including corn, greens and sweet potatoes, and the rest can be sown directly.

This year's corn cultivation uses a new method, which used to sprinkle the seeds directly and evenly into the ground to raise seedlings, but later I found that the operation of transplanting is extremely inconvenient, and it is easy to tear off the roots of corn seedlings and waste scarce seedlings!

Now I knead a similar-sized dough of mud with wet mud like a bun, wrap a grain of corn seed in the middle of the soil, seal it, and place it in the field of the nursery bed one by one, and sprinkle a thick layer of plant ash and fertilizer such as sheep manure and sheep urine on it.

In the future, it is very simple to transplant the seedlings into the ground with a large bun of soil, and the survival rate is close to 100%.

The seeds of each crop before planting each season are carefully selected, and only the fattest seeds are selected for cultivation.

This practice is also an indirect way to increase the yield, only two or three seasons of screening, the later plants are much better than the first seed condition!

With the area of two acres of land and the combination of various crops, I don't think there is any possibility of starvation anymore, so I will no longer be as urgent as when I first got the seeds, and I will plant two crops a year in order to increase the scale as soon as possible!

Most of the crops in the future will be planted only once a year, except for the greens needed to feed the sheep, which will be planted twice.

The time will also be arranged to plant in the field around March, the temperature is still low in February, not early or late in March, and the temperature has also risen to a certain extent, which is the sowing season.

In this way, the unified operation is relatively simple, and it will not be planted with another crop almost every once in a while as before, which feels extremely troublesome and often delays the right thing!

Three or four of the seeds I got in the drifting bottle a few months ago have grown into small seedlings, but I don't think they look like vegetable and fruit crops, but like saplings, which also breaks my desire to use them as food!

Out of curiosity, I didn't plan to dig them up, but transplanted them to a special orchard two or three hundred meters away, along with mango trees and pineapple saplings, hoping that in a few years it would surprise me a little.

Before this year's crop is harvested, I find that there may be some time before the harvest is tight.

Now there are only less than 150 catties of corn, and peanuts are only about 80 catties, and it is estimated that there will be 50 catties of sweet potatoes that can be eaten in addition to seeds, and 50 catties of cassava that have not been dug up, which is the stock of all my food now.

If you want to hold on to the earliest corn harvest, you have to hold on until at least late August, that is, five months, and other shortages can only rely on your usual catch, and the problem is still more serious!

The strange thing is that although the food has been unstable since I went to the island, my food has become more and more stable, compared to eating two or three catties of food a day, now I have to consume at least five catties of food a day to be full, which is no different from a rice bucket......

Of course, a living person must not let the urine suffocate to death, as long as the supply of fish is sufficient, there is basically no problem, and my main idea now is to get rid of the dependence on fish and make it truly an ingredient, not a staple food!

The main reason for this is that fishing is very tiring, and maintaining the condition of the fish pond is also very troublesome, and taking care of the sheep is very annoying.

This season's area distribution has changed greatly from before: green vegetables will still be planted to half an acre, corn and peanuts will each have half an acre, and sweet potatoes will occupy about 200 square meters.

Because of the sweet potato seedlings, I estimate that it may not be enough for half an acre, and the potatoes and several Chinese herbs and ginger are a total of about 100 square meters.

This area is still not enough, especially the number of sweet potatoes and greens is lacking, but I don't plan to expand it this season.

The basic needs have been satisfied, and when there is more free time in the future, some areas will be cleared, and things are always done by slow accumulation, and it is impossible to achieve it overnight.

After the iron hoe, now the copper hoe is almost completely out of favor and idle, and it is estimated that there will be no more days.

The speed of loosening the soil with an iron hoe has increased exponentially, and it is more efficient and at the same time there is no need to worry about it, but the iron hoe does not have to worry about this problem at all.

It took less than 10 days to loosen nearly two acres of land, dig drainage ditches and dig in rows every two meters wide, including daily chores and mowing grass for the sheep.

This was extended by at least five days if the copper hoe had been used before, and at least a month if the soil had been loosened with the first wooden sticks, and it was done like a dog's gnaw.

I have to say that science and technology change life, how much ability to do many things is very reasonable, so ambitious can only put yourself in a dilemma of pain!

The first seeds to be planted in the field were corn, sweet potatoes and green cabbage seeds, and at this time, the green vegetable seeds of the previous season were harvested and dried, and even the steps of taking them home were omitted and planted directly into the ground.

Followed by potatoes and peanuts, after everything is done, you can only wait for a long time for its growth and daily care, there are seedlings at least a month before transplanting, sweet potatoes are close to two months, and there is enough time to start construction.

Originally, I wanted to fire the third kiln immediately, but after seeing the state of the bricks and tiles, I found that I would have to wait for two days, so I had to find other things to pass the time for the time being.

Affected by the sunny weather for nearly 10 consecutive days, there has been a shortage of water again recently, and the fresh water in the well is less than 20 centimeters.

The poor endurance has always been distressing, and now with the chisel and the iron lift, it can finally completely solve the problem that has been around for more than a year!

The small amount of water stored in the well has always been a big problem for me, especially in the first few months when I first came to the island, even if the situation has eased to a certain extent since the clay pot, but the source of the problem is always the most fundamental solution, so that it can be solved once and for all!

There are about two buckets of water in the water tank in the house, and there is probably a bucket of water scooped up in the well, so it should not be a problem to save a little bit and stick to it for two days, these two days are the time I use to dig the well, and I hope everything will go well.

Fortunately, the top of the well is basically a complete boulder, so I can work below to be confident and bold, otherwise I feel a sense of psychological pressure when I stand underneath, and I guess I am worried about whether it will fall down suddenly like the soil of the cave when I dig it.

The bones that are easy to gnaw have been gnawed in advance, and the rest are the bones that are not easy to gnaw, and then all the hard rocks have brought a lot of challenges to expanding the capacity of the well, and of course, this is also the courage to carry out this challenge only after having tools such as chisels.

After the official start of construction, I found that it was easier than I imagined, the material is not so hard, but the rock is always a rock, and the whole arm is very sore and soft after an hour, and the whole body is also sweaty!

I piled up the stones three or four meters next to the well, and it was a good idea to spread them on the ground when I had free time, so that the ground would not be muddy when it rained.

The excavation continued, and the sound of the hammering metal could be heard in the distance, and the aftermath was the sound of the chisel being hammered in my head every night when I went to bed.

The workload on the first day was about ten buckets of water, and the depth was already sixty or seventy centimeters below the ground, and it was not so easy to dig deeper into the water, so the main content of the latter was to dig inward and on both sides.

Even if the water supply in the mountains is almost cut off for about 10 days under normal circumstances, the water stored in the well can be guaranteed to last for about a week.

It seems that the drought in the next half month will not be difficult for me, and the weather at sea will be extremely rare if the drought lasts for more than half a month.

However, the current trouble is still there, and on the third day, I had to face a shutdown to go to the beach to fetch water and come back to boil fresh water, and there was no extra drinking water in the house.

But what I didn't expect was that just after boiling two buckets of water, the heavy rain came on the night of the third day, and the overnight rain suddenly solved the problem of water shortage, and sure enough, the power of man is so small compared to nature.

When you are lamenting the greatness of human beings, you forget that your food source is given by the earth, and that the food can be harvested by God.
