Chiang Kai-shek's head of the guard

Xu Longjin is older than me, born in 1936. His father and mother both went to private school, and in 1932 they got married at the Catholic Church in Beiguan, Juye County, and held a new-style wedding.

At that time, the family was right, and these two families were not ordinary people. Long Jin's grandfather Xu Xintong served as the head of the guard regiment for Chiang Kai-shek, and his grandfather was a Wuju man in the Qing Dynasty, and his family was in Suiguantun in Yuncheng, and his two uncles both graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy and both taught.

The Xu family has hundreds of acres of land in Xiaoxu Ying, the grandfather is the second in line, the grandfather has a lot of eyes, always bullies him, he gets angry and leaves as a soldier. Hearing that he was a battalion commander outside, the grandfather said to people: "I can't find someone to be an official, so let such a poor man be an official." "My hometown says that whoever is stupid will say that he is poor.

Later, my grandfather was in charge of the Wuhan wharf, and there were many people who gave gifts, and some people sent silver yuan, which was directly placed on the table of the eight immortals at home. Xu Xintong found out and asked the guards to send them back. I heard my grandmother say that if I had accepted all the money I had given at that time, I would have bought a thousand acres of land. People knew that Xu Xintong didn't want money, so they sent him flags, and they sent a lot of flags.

After being a soldier for more than ten years, my grandfather quit and rode back to Xiaoxu Camp on a white horse. When outsiders asked, he said: "The cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party is together today, and tomorrow it is not good, like two children who are angry, I look angry and go home to farm." "There were a lot of soldiers who came back, and the four who stayed behind, all of them from Hebei, carried the work for the Xu family, and the rest went home. The white horse died of old age, and his grandfather dug a pit to bury a grave, and he also burned paper miles for the white horse, burning it once a year.

The grandfather knew how to work in the field, ploughed the land, raked the ground, he got up early and was greedy for darkness, and worked like a long-term worker. As long as the cattle of the household are idle, whoever is willing to make them work.

One day, the bearer said: "Dongjia, the sorghum head of the Shili Temple is called to be wiped (note: mQ, wipe the head), you go and take a look." ”

Grandpa said, "It's okay, there's still a lot left." ”

When the sorghum was harvested, my grandfather went and used two carts to pull the sorghum heads to the house. Grandpa said to Changgong: "There are still a lot left, right?" Let's use the cart to pull home. Those who steal sorghum do not dare to use a cart to pull it home. ”

At the time of land reform, the four people in Hebei went home. The president of the peasant association asked his grandfather to report the ingredients himself, and the grandfather said: "I am a landlord, and no one in this tunzi has as much land as mine." ”

Some landlords have dozens of acres of land, and when the crops are ripe, they carry guns to look at the crops, offending too many people, so that the peasants will be shot. Grandpa is the biggest landlord in Xiaoxuying, and there is nothing to do.

Xiaoxuying is fifteen or sixteen miles away from the county seat, when the Kuomintang and the Communist Party were in a tug-of-war, my grandfather often went to the county seat to ask for people, and the people he wanted were all from the peasant association. The officials in the county and those who returned to the township group all gave face to their grandfather, and he didn't need to take money, he could get people back by buying a few boxes of foreign cigarettes. In front of me (note: nearby) a few villages, grandpa is going to come back more than ten people. One time it was late, and the two peasant associations in the village were buried alive.

In 1959, starving at home, my grandfather took my stepgrandmother to Inner Mongolia. When life was difficult, my grandfather went back to his hometown to pick up the house, and the wall fell down and smashed people. At that time, there was no money to see a doctor, no money to take medicine, and my grandfather was sick for two years and passed away a few years ago. The grandmother was in good health and lived to be in her nineties.

In October 2015, Jiang Shumei interviewed Gu Liangyou's granddaughter Xi Yuesu (first from left) and Xu Xintong's grandson Xu Longjin (first from right). Photo by Ai Ling.

During the years when my grandfather was an official, my grandfather wrote to him every year asking for money, saying that he wanted to buy land and build a house. He said to buy land, but not a few acres of land; said to build a house, but did not build a house. The family sells a lot of grain every year, and the grandfather exchanges it for silver yuan. He saved for many years, and saved eight large vats of silver yuan and buried them in the ground. buried the silver yuan, he buried it secretly at night, and he didn't tell anyone.

When he was in his sixties, his grandfather was strong and strong, but suddenly he suffered a stroke and was silent, and it was useless to ask him anything. Everyone in the family knows that there are eight cylinders of silver yuan, and no one knows where they are buried.
