Chapter 550: Finding (Extra)

There is no shortage of brave heroes on the continent of Runeterra, but few are as resilient as Bobby. She had always carried a holy hammer, two as tall as she was. This resolute yodeler has been searching for the "Hero of Demacia" for countless years. Legend has it that only this warrior was qualified to take over and use the weapon in her hand.

According to the legend, this peerless hero is the only one who can unleash the full power of this holy hammer, and will also lead Demacia to true greatness. Although Poppy has searched the most remote corners of the kingdom, her search has been in vain. She has tried many times to deliver the hammer to someone who might become a hero, but each time the consequences have ended in tragedy: usually the warrior who receives the hammer will die a tragic death. If it were someone else, he would have given up this mission a long time ago, but others did not have the indomitable courage and perseverance of this heroine.

Bobbi is a yodeler like no other. For as long as she can remember, she has been searching for a purpose in life. The other yodelers are inherently fickle and whimsy, which makes Poppy feel out of place, preferring to find patterns and order around her and immerse herself in them. This impulse led her to get closer to the human settlements of western Valoran, where she watched with curiosity as the human caravans walked down country lanes to the end of the spectrum. The people in the caravan looked ragged and exhausted, but they still hobbled forward, seeking some better life, as if they could be reached beyond the horizon

But one day, a different team passed by. Unlike other travelers, these people seem to have a clear purpose in mind when they move forward. They all woke up punctually every morning to the sound of the watchman's horn. They all eat together at the same time every day, and after a few minutes they clean up. They were clean and efficient in both camping and pulling.

The yodelers used their innate magical abilities to achieve extraordinary feats, yet this group of humans achieved the same feat through collaboration and discipline. They work together like cogs, forming a powerful force that can never be reached by an individual. In Bobby's eyes, this is more amazing than all the magic in the world.

Poppy didn't want to provoke the thorn wolf, but now the wolf was about to pounce on her. It was still stained with dark red blood from the corners of its mouth, and it hadn't been long since it had last hunted, but the yodeler didn't want to be the prey of its mouth. She will soon catch up with the famous Demon Slayer, and she must survive to find this Demon Slayer and judge his qualifications.

"Stand back, you don't have a chance of winning." Poppy spoke to the giant wolf as she menacingly raised the hammer aloft.

But the thorn wolf didn't flinch in the slightest. Driven by some strange desperation, it walked straight for her, and Poppy couldn't discern it exactly. Then she saw a warning foam at the corner of its mouth. The beast didn't act out of hunger or territoriality. It is in pain and wants to be liberated. The giant wolf lunged at her, seemingly determined to either kill or be killed in the next second.

Poppy swung the hammer, wielding its weight with all her might. Her blow shattered the beast's skull in an instant, ending its torment. The slaughter didn't make Poppy happy, but she thought it would be the best outcome, for both the wolf and herself.

The yodeler looked around the greenery, but didn't sense the scent of the demon slayer. She had been wandering the countryside for a long time, following the rumors of the Demon Slayer, hoping that this mysterious hunter would be the legendary hero of legend, the man she had sought for so many years. But so far, all she's found are wolves, wyverns, and bandits, and most of the time, she's had to kill these malevolent enemies in self-defense.

She has been traveling for weeks between small villages on the border of Demacia. She strode as fast as she could, but the Demon Slayer always seemed to be one step ahead of her, leaving her with nothing but legends and exploits. Yodelers were rarely able to perceive the passage of time, but even Poppy began to feel that the quest was a bit long.

One day, she began to doubt herself and her mission, but then she saw a notice nailed to the roadside notice board:

"Welcome to the Demon Slayer Celebration"

This is a celebration to pay tribute to the demon slayer, and it is the demon slayer that Poppy is looking for. If there's any chance of finding out the whereabouts of this hero, it's going to be there. He might even be there himself, and if that did, she would be able to measure the hero for herself and judge whether he was worthy of the hammer handed down by Oron. The expectation of achieving her mission made her walk suddenly brisk, and she moved towards the celebration with high spirits.

Poppy arrives at the destination village and begins to feel apprehensive, with banners and streamers announcing the day's festivities. Ideally, she should arrive early, stand behind the crowd at the opening of the celebration, and keep a low profile. But now, the main venue is already packed with spectators, rubbing shoulders and leaking. Bobby walked between the legs of the villagers, most of whom reveled in the warm atmosphere and were completely unaware of her.

"If he were to come here, I'd have to ask him for a drink," said a voice above her head. "He killed the monster and saved my sheep."

Bobby's heart is surging, and he gets excited every time he hears the story of the Demon Slayer.

What if he really is a hero of the world? She thought to herself.

Deep down, though, Bobby asked a different question. Once she delivers the hammer, where will she go? Will she find a new purpose? A yodeler without a goal is very pitiful. She stopped thinking and got back to the task at hand.

The little warrior finally squeezed to the back of the main field, and she found a lamppost that was easy to climb and not yet in sight. So she climbed up, just high enough to see the whole crowd.

Poppy arrived just in time for a speaker and a group of Demacia officials at the other end of the main venue, standing on the podium, behind him a ceremonial curtain covered with a behemoth.

Although Poppy had the spiritual acumen of a yodel, she still had a hard time hearing what the man was saying. He's telling the story of the Demon Slayer, how he saved countless farms and villages, and dealt with Wyverns, sick wolves, and robbers. He said that although the noble warrior chose to remain incognito, they should still be honored for his deeds. Someone had seen the Demon Slayer near the town of Irwindale a few weeks earlier, and this was the first time anyone had seen his appearance in person. After speaking, the speaker lifted the curtain and revealed a stone statue.

Poppy saw the demon slayer's appearance for the first time and was dizzy with excitement. He was a typical Demacian warrior – two meters tall, dressed in heavy plate armor and with prominent muscles. At his feet lay the corpse of a wolf, apparently killed by him.

The image began to take root in Bobby's mind when she suddenly heard the voice of a child a few meters away.

"Dad, look. It's a demon slayer! Same as the statue!" A little girl shouted happily.

Poppy looked in the direction she was pointing. Then she turned back sharply, thinking that the Demon Slayer was standing behind her. She didn't see anyone, though.

"No, child," said the little girl's father. "That's not a demon slayer. It's less than half of my height. ”

The little girl and her father quickly lost interest and went to the other side of the village to participate in other activities.

The crowd in front of the statue gradually dispersed, and Poppy walked over to take a closer look. Now she can take a good look at the demon slayer. His hair is long and has two knots tied around the sides. His battle-hardened hands were uneven, and he held a giant warhammer in his hand, which looked a lot like the holy hammer Oron had given her. Poppy doesn't know who else in the kingdom is more peerless than this hero.

"It must be him," Poppy said. "Hopefully, it's not too late."

She turned away from the celebration, taking small, sharp steps in the direction of the town of Irwindal.
