Volume 2: The Holy War of Blood Chapter 12: The Island of Fire and Ice (1) Landing
If I had to describe Iceland in one word, most people would call it the Pure Land on Earth.
Inhabited by just over 300,000 people, the country sits at the confluence of the Atlantic and Arctic oceans, and is dotted with year-round ice and active volcanoes. Because of this view, it has also earned the reputation of the Island of Fire and Ice.
This is the port city of Akureyri in the north of Iceland.
The Nautilus was secretly anchored in the harbor at dawn, and all the members of Team X. had already disembarked.
It wasn't as cold as they had hoped, at least much warmer than Siberia, which was a surprise to everyone. Whenever the wind blows, it does not bring a biting cold, but a refreshing chill.
"I thought I'd be shivering. Shore took a deep breath of the fresh air around him, "But it doesn't seem that cold here, and even the air is cold and makes people feel a little comfortable." β
Raven and Ye Xiang both agreed, but Nicholas was clearly not as interested as the others. Even though he was standing on land now, he could still feel the food churning in his stomach.
"Raven. Shore shouted at him, "Go and help Nicholas, I feel that he seems to be getting worse when he comes ashore." β
"The fact that he was seasick alone would have made me laugh for a month. Raven couldn't help but snicker as he held Nicholas around. "I'll tell you now, if you dare to spit on me, I'll go back and talk about it for three days and three nights. β
Jon also walked over at this point, clapping his hands and signaling that he had something to say.
"Listen to me, everybody. Jon took out a sealed tin box from his pocket, the lock of the tin box was a newly programmed electronic combination lock, and if someone tried to open it with external force, the box would self-destruct in ten seconds.
"This box contains the information you need. He went on to say, "The one who knows the code is now in this city, and you have to find him and get it, and he has another very important piece of information to give to you in person." β
"It's really annoying. Shore couldn't help but complain, "Wouldn't it be okay to just hand over all the information to us? β
Jon said, "Captain Shore, you seem to have forgotten that your team was formed for two purposes at the beginning, right?"
This snapped a reminder to Shore, who looked up at the serious-looking Jon in disbelief and said, "Do you mean that?"
"That's right, Team X was founded from the ground up to uncover the intrigues of Hell and find the traitors hiding within us. Although the first mission has changed now, you still have to continue with the second mission. β
That is to say. Ye Xiang touched his chin thoughtfully. "There is more than one traitor in the headquarters, besides the dead Thomas Wayne, there is another, no, can it even be said that there are many traitors?"
"That's why you're here in person. Jon pointed to the interior of the city. "The headquarters is no longer safe, or rather, it has been infiltrated, and Commander-in-Chief Rajer has always had this premonition: we are likely to lose because of traitors. β
"That being said, we can understand, but how are we going to find so many people?" Raven couldn't help but interject.
"The question is simple. Jon's tone finally relaxed a little, "Go to the biggest bar in the city center, you're looking for someone wearing a jacket with a black crow on it, it's the most striking feature to remember." β
"There's probably more people wearing that kind of clothes. Raven expressed his own doubts, "Wouldn't it be embarrassing if we were to find the wrong one." β
"I'm not done yet. Jon swallowed and continued, "Are you all so anxious, let me finish my sentence." β
The crowd finally fell silent, and then Jon continued, "That man has a very special ability to resonate with the Word if you get too close, and if you find someone dressed similarly, sense it through your Word." β
Everyone who heard this looked at each other, they had never heard of this ability, and now they were more and more interested in the man they wanted to meet.
"Is it a special physique?" Ye Xiang thought for a while and asked, "I'm afraid that the number of people with this physique is one in hundreds of millions, and I'm afraid there are few people like him in this world." β
"I don't know much about the man you're going to see. Jon said in a slightly apologetic tone, "But he does have a special constitution, and he is quite famous among those of us who are frequent seafarers. β
He suddenly thought of something, lowered his voice and said, "Let me tell you one last thing, although I said that the Holy Word will resonate with him, but the actual situation is probably different from what you think. Seth had seen the man before, and then he disappeared for a week. β
"This man might be in danger, isn't it?" said Shore in a low voice, "Did Seth tell the reason later?"
"No, after a week, he suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and looked so tired that he lay in the hospital for three days before he woke up, and when he woke up, he was silent about it. β
"Understood. Shore suddenly laughed, "The more I talk about it, the more I think this man is interesting, let's go meet him for a while." In any case, we must get the information. β
"I wish you all the best of luck. Jon said to Shore, "I'll stay here in the harbor until you return safely." Don't let my old friends down, you are our hope now. β
"I won't let him down, I pledge with my own life. Shore smiled confidently, "Now, it's our turn to get out of the race." β
The figures of the four of them disappeared into the crowd before disappearing completely from Jon's eyes. "The dawn of victory will come. Jon faintly heard Seth's voice ringing in his ears. He turned and left, at least for the time he had to spend some time in the port.
Meanwhile, on the main battlefield on the island of Manhattan, Astarott is furiously crushing everything that comes into view.
His muscles and skin had not yet fully healed from the ablation of the Judgment Prison, and some of his bones were still exposed, and the way he was so furious today was terrifying.
"Lord Astarrot, please stop. "Please don't be so angry, Lord Mephistopheles has his own reasons for doing this. β
"What's the bastard?" Astarot roared, "for that reason to stop us from attacking, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!"
Just now, Astarrot received an order that he couldn't believe: the attack plan had changed, and until a new order was received, the Legion of Hell would have to stay where it was and not attack without permission.
"Is Mephistopheles' brain broken?" Astarrot roared, so that the demons around him didn't even dare to approach. "You say he's doing this for a reason, right? β
"Understood, sir. Hoth hurriedly lowered his head and said, "According to Master Mephistopheles himself, he has discovered the location of the human team codenamed X. For this reason, Beelzebub-sama has been sent to fight for annihilation, so please stop launching the next round of attacks until this force is annihilated. β
"X?" Astarrot finally fell silent for a moment, his mind vaguely reminding him as he glanced at his newly transplanted right arm, which was lit with angry flames.
"Did you kill the group of Leviansons?" he asked in a calm tone.
"Yes. Hoss, who fell to his knees, immediately replied. "Their captain is the one who killed Lord Levianson, if I remember correctly, it should be calledβ"
"Shore Robert. Astarrot blurted out the name.
Hoss looked up at him in surprise, "That's right, my lord. That's exactly what the human name is. β
I can't forget the name, the little bug that ran away from me, the worm who survived on the lives of his friends! Every time he thought of it, Astarrot couldn't control the anger in his heart.
"Understood. Astarrot said in a very normal tone. "Since it's Mephistopheles' order, then as a vanguard, I have no choice but to agree. The order went down, and everyone remained unmoved until a new order was given. β
If it were Beelzebub, you would all die ugly, and a smile appeared on the corner of Astaroth's mouth. From the moment he knew it was Beelzebub who had been dispatched, he seemed to have foreseen the death of everyone in Team X.
On a cruise ship in the Atlantic, the tragedy that had occurred in the previous village had happened again.
At this time in the captain's room, the helmsman was trembling at the helm, and beside him was Beelzebub, who was sitting on the ground and smacking his fingers.
"The people on this boat smell pretty good. Beelzebub said to the corgi who was standing by and waiting, "It's a treat to be a snack on the road." Oh, and by the way, how long will it take for the humans who sailed the ship to get there?"
"Your Excellency, how long will it take you to get to our destination?" shouted the corgi to the helmsman, who was already limp.
"At least another hour. The helmsman stammered, "I think it should be an hour." β
"That means another hour of snacking. Beelzebub didn't mind the speed of the journey. "How many snacks are there on board now?"
"Your Excellency. Corgi replied, "It seems that there is no one else but this human in front of us now." β
"What!" Beelzebub got up from the ground in dissatisfaction. "An hour is too long. Hey, humans. If you don't reach your destination within 45 minutes, you'll be able to meet up with the rest of your ship. β
"Yes, yes. The helmsman was sweating, and he was almost numb with fear.
Poor and pathetic human, Corgi looked at the man in front of him and thought, even if you can reach your destination within the time limit set by the adults, you will not escape death, stupid!
"So. Beelzebub sat down lazily again, "Do your best, human. I'm really looking forward to going back there again and meeting up with the humans who killed Leviansen. β
