Chapter 323: Metal Heart (Orianna Extra)
Orianna walked through the open square, the market empty in the quiet night. Monsieur Phystri's Fantasy Bazaar opens its doors to the citizens of Zaun only twice a year, and Orianna doesn't want to miss the spectacle.
She waited until everyone left, and the laughter and musical accompaniment faded away. Only the steam pipes in the nearby alchemy block made a muffled sound from time to time, breaking the silence.
The ground is covered with gravel, scattered with colorful streamers and brightly colored balloons, and crumpled pastry wrappers in between.
Oriana's mechanical ball floated beside her, following her past a stall covered in roses. The board says that the seven floral scents inside correspond to the taste of each of the seven days of the week.
She passed by a toy monkey with a pair of copper cymbals in her hand. There is also a cart full of candied apples next to it. These leisure items from Zaun did not arouse Oriana's interest, and her eyes were completely captured by the glass cabinet in the corner at the end of the square.
A metallic sheen flashed across her eyes in the moonlight. The sheen comes from the mechanical boy inside the glass case. Orianna, who had never seen anything like him, approached him curiously.
He was dressed in a dark blue suit, as deep as the night sky, and wore a silk hat on his head. The skin is a layer of fine ceramic, and inside is an intricate and elegant gearing mechanism.
His eyes shimmered with a delicate silver light. As Orianna approached, his lips changed to the shape of a smile.
"Can you keep it a secret?" said the boy. His voice reminded Orianna of the melodious sound of bells.
"Hello," she said. "Absolutely."
"How about we swap them. My secret, swap your name. ”
"That's fair. My name is Oriana. ”
"Oh Ahhh "How feminine."
Orianna genuinely felt like she saw his ceramic cheeks flushing slightly.
"It's my turn. My name is Philam. My secret is that I'm afraid of the outside world, but I really want to see the beaches and mountains in the distance. ”
"So you're going to hide in a glass cabinet all the time," she asked. "Because you're afraid"
"Here, the world will come to see me," Philam said. "Hiding in a glass house, I'm safe. My body is fragile, you see. ”
He pointed to a crack in his hairline. "See, I'm aging." Feram's mouth turned into a helpless smile.
Orianna smiled and shrugged, a new move she had recently learned. But she's not sure she's going to be able to do it right.
"Oh, you haven't seen me do tricks," Philam said, reaching into his sleeve and revealing a bouquet of daisies.
"Da-da," he exclaimed. "Next"
Philam took off his hat and nodded slightly. Several mechanical pigeons flew out of their hats. He clapped his hands with his hands, and in an instant the entire glass cabinet was filled with a thick red smoke. After a few seconds, the smoke cleared and the pigeon was gone.
Orianna applauded happily. The copper ball next to him swirled excitedly.
"It's wonderful," she exclaimed. "It's like magic."
"It's not my best performance. The sleeves are a little messed up. He said apologetically as he moved his hands. But that's what I'm good at, little surprises. It's like you can find me in such a big city. It's just you, no one else. ”
"You winked at me." Orianna asked. "Why"
"We are the souls of the two jades in one, you and me. You must have known about it for a long time," Philam said. "That's why you found me, didn't you," he rubbed his feet against the ground, and Orianna marveled at his delicate movements.
"Just because I've never seen anything like you," she said.
"I'm unique, aren't you," Philam said, gesturing at her mechanical body and smiling at her again.
Orianna responded with a smile. Philam was attached close to the glass window.
"Your smile is really"
"It's too fake," she said. "Yes, I'm still trying to learn some expressions."
"It's beautiful," Mr. Framam said.
"Uh, now it's your turn to make me blush."
Oriana's copper ball floated to her left and nudged her shoulder.
"Wait a minute," she said to the copper ball. She picked up a mechanical monkey from a nearby stall and wound it up.
It began to stride rapidly forward on the ground, its eyes glowing red, and every three steps, it slapped the cymbals in its hand, slower and slower, and finally stopped.
"You're not like him, are you, non-ram, you're not just gears and clockwork." She said. "You have a mind, you have a consciousness."
"Maybe I'm made up of gears and bearings, but I have dreams, like everyone else."
"I know you're dreaming of getting out of here. You must be lonely in the cupboard. Come with me. We can leave now and go together. Oriana said.
"Leave" Philam's expression fell. "I'm afraid I don't understand what you're talking about."
"You must have heard the sleepless hustle and bustle of Zaun, and you must have heard of the wonders of Piltover," Oriana asked.
Philam raised his head.
"My favorite thing is to take the screaming elevator at sunset and catch the last golden rays of the sun," says Orianna, "and from the top of the gate, you can see the whole harbor outside the barrage gates, and the sparkling endless sea." On it, you can imagine the taste of distant lands. ”
Oriana's copper ball swirled and buzzed in the air, giving her a blow on the shoulder again.
"I think it's the right time," she said. "Feram, would you like to see the world, we can leave together, right now. I can protect you. ”
"I can't think of anything better than that." He said.
Orianna circled around the glass cabinet, looking for a place to open it. There is a padlock on the base of the cabinet that locks a small door. She raised her fist and slammed it into the padlock, which opened in one fell swoop.
A night watchman approached.
"Feed your hands"
Orianna gave the bronze ball a glance at the night watchman, slamming into his helmet with a metallic crash, and then levitating in the air waiting for the next command.
Orianna nodded, and the orb emitted a flash of energy. The Night's Watch was struck by the energy and raised her baton to smash the orb, which spun in the air before returning to her.
The second night watchman ran towards Oriana. She tried to drag Framam out, but his chair got stuck in the doorway.
"Can Philam do another trick?"
The copper ball emits a high-energy noise that surrounds the first night watchman. His metal helmet was sparkling outward.
"Trick" Philam reached into his sleeve and conjured flowers. Oriana had to dodge the Night's Watch.
"Not this one, the other".
Philam put away the bouquet.
"One last trick," she said. "Fast"
