Chapter 8: The Morning Gathering of the Town

Many people in the city may not know about the existence of country markets, or they have only heard of them but have never experienced them.

The market is a market for regular buying and selling of goods in the countryside or small cities, and the site is generally set around the vegetable market in the town, but with the development of the economy and the abundance of materials, this kind of market has begun to gradually disappear.

When he was a child, catching up with the market was a great joy for Ye Han. The town where he lived held a meeting every five days, starting on the second day of the month, then the seventh day of the month, and so on.

On the day of the opening of the market, most of the villagers of ten miles and eight townships will rush over, and the scene is not an exaggeration to say that the crowd is crowded, and the streets are densely packed with people's heads, compared with the overcrowded Badaling Great Wall in Beijing during the National Day, it is not inferior.

Everything is sold in the market, from the most common chicken, duck and fish, melons, fruits and vegetables, snacks and miscellaneous mouths, to spring and autumn long shirts, summer short sleeves, winter sweaters, as well as pots and pans, kitchen knives and cutting boards, hoes and flat poles, glasses and toys and even cockroach pills and rat poison, in short, there is only what you can't think of, and there is nothing you can't buy.

The people who sell goods are also particular, and there are fixed stalls, which are serious and pay money to the market management department, and no one can move them; There are mobile stalls, those who are also acquaintances of the market, and generally have a fixed position, occasionally occupied, just move, or squeeze with others, and wait for the management to come to collect the booth fee, get the invoice can sell things with peace of mind.

There is also a type of stall that belongs to the seams and needles, generally the villagers nearby, after producing things in their own fields, they take advantage of the market to exchange some money to subsidize the family, this kind of people because there are few things, find a vacant land to sell, so the gaps between the large stalls are filled by them, and these people are older people, who have lived on this land for decades, and the villagers in the big hometown will never deliberately embarrass them.

The last and worst category are the small stall vendors who push carts full of snacks like twist flowers, or hang a wooden box on their chests with sweets, almonds, raisins, and the like, and shout and sell them as they move away.

They carry a lot of things, walk slowly, stop in the middle of the road when someone buys something, cause traffic jams, and more importantly, they never pay the booth fee! Therefore, it has become the focus of the market administrators, and they are often driven away, but there are too many people in the market, and the administrators cannot keep an eye on them.

However, this kind of vendor was also Ye Han's favorite when he was a child, and most of the pocket money on his body was earned by them, no way, who made children the most greedy.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

At five o'clock in the morning, the sky was pitch black, and it was drizzling, and the rainy days in autumn were always very cold, Ye Han tightened his clothes and turned on the electric light in the kitchen in the dark.

After a "click", the orange light instantly filled the small room, and the excess light also overflowed through the cracks in the window sill door, bringing a little light and warmth to the dark earth.

Ye Han, who was fully dressed, took out a yellow raincoat from the utility cabinet, put it on carefully, and waited until everything was in order, then took out the big black mask, put it on, and then turned up the raincoat hat and wrapped his head.

From the outside, Ye Han's whole person was covered in a raincoat, like a yellow isosceles triangle, completely covering her graceful figure. Only a pair of Yingying autumn water is still exposed, but it doesn't matter, Ye Han has grandma's reading glasses in his pocket, and when the time comes, he will wear glasses, and then he will lower his head and not look at others.

Ye Han grabbed both sides of the bamboo basket with both hands, and with a coquettish shout, hundreds of catties of oranges rose in response.

One trip, two trips, with the help of the headlights, Ye Han easily moved the two baskets of oranges to the trunk, stuffed them to the brim, leaving no gaps. After closing the trunk, I saw that Lao Huang was already squatting outside the co-pilot's door, and he was ready to go with Ye Han.

"Lao Huang, I'm going to sell oranges, you can't go along, good, go home." Ye Han coaxed softly.

Lao Huang was unmoved, still squatting there, sticking out his tongue happily.

"Go home quickly, or you won't have anything to eat today!" Ye Han's voice was fierce.

Lao Huang was still unmoved, squatting there, sticking out his tongue happily.

"You guy!" Ye Han was helpless, walked forward directly, picked up Lao Huang, who was already wet, turned around and walked towards home, and then wasted the boss's strength, holding Lao Huang's head with one hand to prevent it from coming out, pulling the doorknob with the other hand to close the door, and finally leaving it at home.

Looking at Lao Huang's black nose constantly poking out from the crack in the door, Ye Han couldn't help but laugh and scolded: "Damn guy."

When Ye Han arrived in the town, the sky had already brightened, and although it was still dark and gloomy, he could already distinguish the faces of people nearby. The market is already surrounded by stalls, and people who make a living from it are never lazy. In the light rain, little lights are lit up, and in the refraction of the rain, it is slightly foggy.

Ye Han didn't drive the car into the market, but stopped at the end of the street. After all, her stall is a seam type, and she is a newcomer, it is better to find a corner in An'an, the flow of people is so large, there will always be people who walk here, and it depends on the will of God to sell more and sell less.

Ye Han found an empty eaves and moved his two baskets of oranges in, although there would be rain from time to time, but it was better than being directly drenched in the rain. After putting away the little maza, Ye Han sat down with his back against the wall, and stuffed a small electronic scale and a stack of plastic bags under the raincoat, looking at it from a distance, it really looked like a little yellow duck.

After a while, the sky was bright, but the rain did not become lighter, and it was still dripping, and the sparse stalls around were gradually filled, but after all, it was the end of the street, and it was still much sparse compared to the circle in the market.

There are a few more uncles and aunts around Ye Han who sell fresh vegetables. The people here are all marginalized people in this market, and they are not familiar with each other, so everyone is silent, just brushing away the droplets of water that fall in from time to time.

A lonely figure across the street caught Ye Han's attention, it was an extremely thin old woman, her back was slumped, her body shrunk into a ball, and she was trembling slightly, probably because the over-sewn cloth couldn't stop this autumn cold!

There was no eaves on her stall, and it was directly exposed to the autumn rain, so she could only hold a worn-out black umbrella, barely covering herself and a large basket of potatoes in front of her, and the umbrella was placed very low, as if to press the old man into the ground.

"How do you sell oranges?"

The sudden sound of inquiry interrupted Ye Han's gaze, and Ye Han, who came back to her senses, had no time to care, and hurriedly started her first transaction.

The rain is still falling, and I don't know when it will stop, just like some people, who have lived a lifetime, have been drenched in rain for a lifetime, and never know what a sunny day looks like after the rain.
