221. Lonely Harry
Vernon stayed at the telephone after going downstairs to warn his wife and son not to go upstairs, believing that his boss would call again soon, whether the boy's words were useful or not.
"What the hell is going on?" Harry was both happy and confused.
Hermione pointed to Mygoss, who was looking around,
"Ask him, but I don't think you'd better know."
"Why?"
"Don't listen to her, the main thing is that my family has cooperation with your uncle's company, I asked my father's friend to talk to your uncle, and he let us in."
Hearing his words, Hermione glanced at him and took it as a default.
"I see." Harry was convinced of his words, and at the same time a little lucky.
Hermione then began to ask Harry how his summer homework was doing, and Harry was a little hesitant.
"You don't have to do it yet." Hermione was a little surprised, she had always thought that Harry was also a serious person.
"I think his uncle-in-law didn't give him a chance." McGos walked to the windowsill and smiled as he saw that the burglar-proof window they had broken last year had been repaired.
"Oh my God, that's really," Hermione couldn't find an adjective, because you couldn't tell the truth with someone who was completely hostile to magic.
Looking at her expression, Harry didn't care, but instead reassured her that he was used to it, and it wasn't a big deal.
"But now I think I should be able to get my book back." And then complained,
"I don't think it makes sense that the wizarding world doesn't allow underage wizards to use magic."
"Nope." Hermione shook her head seriously,
"In fact, it is still very meaningful, children's minds are immature, and once something happens, it is easy to be extreme, so it is more appropriate to use the law to restrain it."
McGoth dragged the only chair out,
"You may be seated, little sir."
Hermione gave him an annoyed look, then sat down.
"What about Hedwig?"
"Maybe I'm going to catch the mouse."
While they were chatting, the phone rang downstairs, and Vernon picked it up quickly with the agility of his figure, but before he could see if it was his boss's phone, a loud roar came from inside.
"Hello? Feed? Can you hear me? I'm looking for Harry Potter! ”
Vernon was shocked by the sudden roar, and then reacted and was about to lash out and curse, then remembered McGoss, and the corners of his mouth twitched twice, holding back the anger that was about to burst out.
"Wait." He yelled into the microphone as well. Then he plopped and walked upstairs.
"Harry, there's your phone." He knocked on the door and shouted.
Harry, who was talking, was stunned,
"It could be Ron." As he spoke, he opened the door and was a little overwhelmed to see Aunt Vernon standing in the doorway with an ugly face.
Vernon saw McGoth in the door barely shake his face, maybe it was a smile.
"Go quickly, but don't talk too long, I have a very urgent call." Vernon looked at Harry with a look.
"I see." Harry hurried downstairs to the phone.
"Ron?"
"Harry, that's great." The loud sound made Harry move the microphone away.
"You don't have to be so loud, Ron. Can I help you. ”
"Tomorrow we're leaving for Egypt, won't you really come with us?"
Harry had a yearning look on his face when he heard this, but he still refused, maybe it was Dumbledore's ambiguous words last year, maybe it was a little jealous that he could travel with his family, anyway, in the end Ron said that it would be time to bring him a souvenir, and then hung up the phone with some regret.
Harry listened to the beeping voice in the microphone and lost his mind, he thought he was used to the current state, but for some reason, he felt the urge to cry.
"Get out of the way when it's done, I'll have something urgent later." Vernon's obnoxious tone sounded and Harry woke up from his nostalgic state, and he smiled self-deprecatingly,
I'm long gone. But I still have friends, very good friends. ’
"What did Ron say?"
"They'll be going to Egypt tomorrow." Harry said with a smile, not at all recognizable to the sad expression he had just looked.
"Hermione is going to France in a while, and it's you and me who are still in England now, and I don't think Malfoy wants to come out and meet us."
"That's right."
"It's not too early, we should go back too, and I'll come back to you when I have time." McGoth looked at his watch, it was almost ten o'clock.
Harry was a little reluctant, but he didn't hold back, and left Vernon's house with them.
"If he does the same to you as before, you can call me, after all, my father's friend knows his boss." Walked to the car and said to Harry.
"I will." Harry nodded, but he knew he wasn't going to bother him, and it was satisfying to get Vernon to back down today.
"Bye-bye." As the car started, McGoth and Hermione waved at Harry, who was standing on the side of the road watching them leave.
Harry waved in response until he couldn't see the car, and then a strong sense of loneliness set him in and he didn't know where to go. If he could, he really didn't want to go back to the house of his uncle, who was full of bad memories for him.
A white figure flew in the air, standing on Harry's shoulder.
"Hedwig, you don't want to go back to that house, do you?"
"Goo." The white owl may say yes.
"But we had to stay there. I don't know why, but I think Headmaster Dumbledore and Hagrid are doing it for my good. As he spoke, he subconsciously touched the lightning scar on his forehead. He remembered Voldemort possessed in the back of Quirrell's head and the basilisk he met in his first year, and that basilisk he thought was here for him, and it might have something to do with Voldemort, otherwise why Dumbledore sent that former Auror named Moody to protect him.
He had a feeling that this wasn't the end of the story, and that maybe it wouldn't really end until the wizard who could kill Voldemort appeared.
He didn't know how long he stood outside, and he didn't turn back until Vernon called out to him from inside the house.
Vernon looked like he had waited for the call he wanted, and he didn't have the slightest hint of McGoss's still there.
"Listen," Vernon said with a grim face as he walked over to Harry.
"I have to admit that you're lucky to know that kind of big guy, but I need you to remember that you live in my house now, maybe your friend can make me lose my job, but I can also make you never go to that magic school again."
"I didn't think about taking advantage of my friends." Harry looked at him and said calmly,
"But I need you to return my books and other personal belongings to me, and that won't be difficult for you."
Vernon stared at him and was silent for a while,
"Yes, but you can't make a sound."
"Deal."
