254. Conflict in Potions class
McGoth looked left and right, he had wanted to find a corner seat to sit down, but he was speechless to find that only the first row was empty on Gryffindor's side.
He had no choice but to run over and sit down quickly.
"Are you lost?" Harry and Ron were further away from the first row. Sitting behind him was Dean. Thomas and his good friend Seamus. Finigan, it was Dean who whispered to him.
Magos shook his head, although Snape's eyes were not on him, he had a hunch, he had been in the other person's senses.
"Then why are you late and deducted points." Seamus saw him shake his head, his tone slightly complaining.
At this time, Snape suddenly turned his head and looked at Seamus, who was so frightened that he quickly lowered his head.
Snape looked away with a blank face and coldly warned Gryffindor not to make any more small moves. Then he put all their summer homework, shrinkage potions, on the podium.
"That's your homework?" His cold gaze looked around the audience, and even Slytherin honestly lowered his head.
"Give you a quarter of an hour to take your potion away and test it, if it doesn't workβ" he said as he stepped over to Neville, looking at him cruelly,
"I'll pour this waste potion into your mouths."
Neville looked at Snape in horror, trembling all over, as if he had been forced to drink his potion.
Snape was pleased with Neville's reaction, sneering as he walked over to Harry's table.
"I hope the title of savior matches its master, otherwise I am afraid that many wizards will be disappointed."
Harry controlled his angry expression, knowing that Snape was deliberately provoking him and using him to deduct points from Gryffindor.
Under Ron's worried expression, he said in a flat tone,
"You won't be disappointed, Professor Snape." The last two words are a bit heavier.
Snape gave him a cold look.
"If you don't respect the teacher, Gryffindor deducts five points." With a wave of his robe, he walked back to the podium.
Harry was almost annoyed by Snape's reasoning, and he wanted to pick up his wand and attack him.
"Calm down, Harry, calm down." Ron tugged at his magic robe and spoke eagerly, he was afraid that Harry would act irrationally in a fit of rage.
Looking at his classmates who had already begun to take the stage to get their potions, Harry eased his emotions,
"Sooner or later, one day I'll knock him down."
Ron nodded repeatedly, for fear that his hesitation would irritate his friend.
McGoth didn't have to look back, just listening to Snape's words, he knew that this was his daily scolding Harry, and he silently mourned for him for a second in his heart, this is the tragedy of the teacher being his father's rival.
He then got up to get his potion, but walked up to see his potion on the podium.
"Professor, I don't think there's any potion in it." He looked at Snape and said cautiously.
"Latecomers don't." He replied in a faint tone.
The corners of McGoth's mouth twitched, so does that mean he doesn't need to test or what?
"And how does he experiment?" A questioning female voice came from the side, and Magos turned his head to see that Hermione had appeared.
"Mind your own business, Ms. Granger, I don't want to ask questions without my permission."
Hermione sullenly sat down at McGoth's table with her potion.
"When did she come?" Seamus and Dean looked at Hermione, who was sitting in the front, and subconsciously looked at the position behind them, and didn't find that they were free. But she wasn't late, or Snape wouldn't have let her go.
Dean shook his head in confusion.
"Where did you just sit?" Feeling strange, he touched Hermione and asked.
"I've been sitting here, don't you see?" Hermione said without looking back.
Dean and Seamus looked at each other, unable to tell if the sentence was true or not.
At this time, McGoth watched all the little wizards take away their potions, and he was just about to leave, but Snape glanced at him, so he had to stay here in embarrassment, and Harry and Ron looked at him sympathetically.
After all the young wizards except Magos had taken their potions, Snape stood up.
The young wizards who were preparing for the experiment stopped moving, a little curious about what Snape was going to do with Magos.
McGoth also looked at Snape with some unease, he finally realized Harry's humiliation now. I saw him take out a bottle of potion from his bosom, and McGoth could tell at a glance that it was his own.
"This is Mr. Will's shrinking potion, now let's use it for the first experiment, if it fails." He looked coldly at the somewhat uneasy Magos,
"I think he'll know what to do."
Hearing this, McGoth breathed a sigh of relief, he was still very confident in his potion, he thought that Snape would make him do something more embarrassing, and he didn't know whether to resist or bear it when the time came.
Before he could finish his thoughts, Snape conjured a mouse, then pulled the sealing plug of the potion, and dropped a few drops on the mouse, only to see that the mouse slowly shrank at a speed visible to the naked eye, and finally it was only one-tenth the size of its original size.
Seeing that Magos's potion was working, Hermione, Harry and others in the audience breathed a sigh of relief for him, they were really afraid that if it didn't work, Snape would let him drink the potion.
Snape was not surprised or disappointed by this result, and sealed the potion and put it away, allowing McGoth to return to his seat.
"You shouldn't be late."
As soon as she got back, Hermione whispered reproaches as she experimented.
McGoth shrugged and didn't explain why he was late, and seeing that he was fine, he took out the parchment that Sprout had given him and looked at it carefully.
However, not long after he watched the effort, he heard a popping sound from behind. He looked back curiously and saw Neville holding the test tube in his hand, and in front of him was a toad that kept popping, which he remembered as his pet.
McGoth looked back to see how Snape would react, and saw that she had strode over to Neville's side.
"Look, look, our Mr. Longbottom looks like he's invented a new potion."
"Is this pop sound used to scare away the enemy?" As his words fell, there was a loud laugh from Slytherin.
In the face of Snape's cynicism and Slytherin's unbridled ridicule, Neville appeared to be flat, but when he got closer, he was shaking with an uncanny frequency.
Snape frowned at Neville, who was stupefied. He took out his wand and cast a calming spell on him. Then Neville gasped in fear.
Neville's appearance made Gryffindor unbearable, and Harry couldn't help but stand up,
"You're scaring him, Professor."
"Huh?" Snape looked at Harry, who suddenly stood up, and was stunned for a few seconds, not knowing what he thought, and then his expression quickly became gloomy.
"Very well, Mr. Potter, do you want to show your friendship and courage? Then you might as well drink the potion for him. β
Snape's words frightened the Gryffindor wizards, who thought they were just intimidating them, but they didn't expect him to actually ask someone to drink the wrong potion.
Harry was also frightened by Snape's words, he didn't expect him to dare to do so.
"You're going to hurt him by doing that." Hermione couldn't help it.
Snape ignored Hermione's words, and he only stared at Harry viciously, waiting for his answer.
