Chapter 545: The Moon (Extra)

Diana always wore her Moonblade, a warrior of the Bright Moon Cult, though her cult had all but disappeared in the area around Titan Peak. Dressed in armor that shimmered with the cold and snowy light of a winter night, Diana was the mortal embodiment of the Bright Moon's divine power. She fused with the spirit of the stars at the top of the Giant God Peak, and was no longer a mere mortal. Now she struggles to find God's revelation and the meaning of her own power and existence in the world.

Diana was born on the mountainside of the harsh environment of the Giant God Peak, when her parents were sheltering from a storm. The couple came from a faraway place and were drawn to a dream of an unseen mountain and the apocalyptic vow. Exhausted on the eastern slopes of the Giant Peak, the couple was confronted with a violent storm, and that night, under the cold and white moonlight, Diana came into the world, and her mother died.

The next day, as the storm subsided and the sun shone brightly, hunters from the nearby Sun Cult temple found her wrapped in a bearskin, lying in the arms of her father's corpse. They took her back to the temple, where the orphan was presented to the sun and given the name Diana. The black-haired girl was raised as a member of the Sun Cult, the ruling faith in the area around the Giant God Peak. Later, Diana became an official apprentice of the sect, and subtly accepted the supreme reverence for the sun. She learns many legends about the Sun and trains daily with the warriors of Lahorlac, the Templars of the Sun Order.

Like the shadow of the moon, Ephelius silently slaughtered all the enemies of his faith. His language is limited to precise aiming and gunfire. Although he drank the poison that made him lose his voice, he was guided by his sister Larune to bring him various weapons made of moonstone from distant temples. As long as the moon above his head remains bright, Ephelius will never be alone.

The moon hangs high on the Giant God Peak, thousands of miles away, but it is incredibly within reach.

In a rare lunar spectacle, twin siblings Ephelius and La Lunne were born. At the time of the conjunction of the moon, the mirror image of the moon in the spiritual realm coincides with the actual weight. The brother and sister who were born at this time were also regarded as the children of destiny by the Bright Moon Sect of the Giant God Peak.

Just like the celestial spectacle that took place at the time of their birth, the twins knew they were born with a destiny - Ephelius' body was as strong as the rock of the moon, and Larune's magic was like the shadow of the moon in the spiritual realm. From an early age, the two were fostered in fanatical devotion to mystery, contemplation and enlightenment. And they embrace the darkness not only because of faith, but also because only darkness can make them feel safe.

The Sun Cult, which rules the Giant God Peak region, considered the Bright Moon Cult to be heretical, and expelled them from the people's sight until finally most of them had forgotten about the existence of the Bright Moon Cult. As a result, the cultists of the Bright Moon were left to resign themselves to the shadows, dwelling in caves and temples far from the sun's sight.

Ephelius, who was blessed with the destiny of heaven, naturally could not live up to expectations. He worked tirelessly on the mystical Moonstone weapon, sweating and blood in his training in order to make others pay the same price in blood as he defended his faith. Tight spirits tend to be fragile, so the deep bond between him and his sister replaces anyone's friendship.

In order to protect the Cult of the Moon, Ephelius is sent on increasingly dangerous missions, while Lalune is alone in training to become a Knower, using her luminite magic to reveal hidden pathways and reveal the truth in the moonlight. Soon after, she was ordered to leave the temple where they had grown up and go outside to complete her mission.

Without La Lune, Ephelius' faith began to waver.

Desperate for purpose and meaning, he set out on a pilgrimage. According to the credo of the Bright Moon Cult, he will embark on a dark journey to find his own way—his own track. He followed the moonlight to a pond, and the night flowers had bloomed beneath the water. Although these rare flowers are poisonous, they can refine a potion that can open the door to the power of the night.

After drinking the essence of the night, Ephelius felt pain like never before. The pain took over all of his senses, numbing him to everything else.

Soon after, the ancient temple of Guihai Maru was about to move from the spiritual realm to the phase of reality. This is the first opportunity in hundreds of years. The cultists of the Bright Moon left their hiding place and gathered here from all sides of the mountain range to witness the displacement of power brought about by the cycles of the celestial bodies.

But that fortress could only accommodate one person at a time, a man with a gift for magic. This time, it will admit La Roune. Her orbit has led her to the temple. Ephelius, who rarely made a request, insisted on participating in the ceremony.

In a flash of magic, the temple passed through the veil. An even more blazing light filled the night sky. For some reason, it was clear that such a celestial movement was a blessing to the Bright Moon Sect, but they were discovered.

An army of the Sun Cult descended from the sky to purge the Moonlittes with fire and steel. It all seemed to be over, and even Ephelius was defeated. His moonstone sword was shattered to the ground, and blood was dripping from his mouth, and he was approaching the night......

But just as everyone was fighting, Larune stepped deeper into the temple - and when she reached the core, all her potential was instantly awakened. In the darkness of the night, Ephelius felt the power of La Lune embracing him...... Her voice was in her ears. With a whisper, she sent the magic into the palm of his hand—condensed into a moonstone, replacing his original weapon.

Like the physical moon and its soul reflection, the martial arts of Ephelius and the magic of La Lune overlapped.

Those who were in the sun never lived to see the sun again.

Larune's magical light burst out, propelling the temple back to the spiritual realm, where the Sun Cult would be inaccessible and safe. The temple's focusing effect amplifies the power within, allowing Larune to project his magic anywhere from it, as long as he can find something to focus on—like the poison that runs through Ephelius' blood.

It was only then that they truly comprehended their fate. Ephelius would empty himself with pain and become a conductor of the power of the Moon. La Roune would live alone, isolating himself in the fortress. But she will guide her brother and see everything he sees.

Together, the two of them were the weapons needed by the Bright Moon Cult, and pain and sacrifice bound them together. Only when the heavens are apart can they stay together for a long time - the souls of the two touch the two ends of the curtain, thousands of miles away, but incredibly within reach.

The survivors of that attack took refuge in the shadows of the mountains. In order to protect them, Lalune's magic expands and extends Ephelius's murderous skills - the sword in his hand has been transformed into a number of mysterious weapons that Lalune has perfected over the course of each mission.

The balance of power at the Giant God Peak is quietly shifting, the Sun Sect knows that the Bright Moon Sect is still alive, and Ephelius and La Lune are more important than ever.
